Author's Notes: So I hope you liked the first story in the series. Here goes part too! Expect a lot of Hurt/Comfort.Enjoy :)As always feel free to review :)

Two days.

That’s how long Kurt has been in the ICU.

That’s how long the family has waited and still heard nothing.

Two days.

“Hey Finn, how’s about you and Blaine go get some food from the cafeteria.” Burt offered handing Finn some cash.

“Thanks. Do you guys want anything?” Finn asked his parents.

“Could you just bring me a coffee?” Carole asked.

“Same for me, Finn.” Burt added.

“Sure thing. We’ll be back in a little bit.” Finn said as they began to head to the cafeteria.

“Call us if anything changes or you hear anything about him.” Blaine added.

“Of course.” Carole smiled.

“Hey Blaine.” Finn said as they sat down at the small table nibbling at their food.

“Yeah Finn?” Blaine asked looking up into his eyes.

Blaine’s eyes, they were full of hurt, and pain, and regret, and worry, and mostly love.

“Never mind.” Finn said looking down.

Finn was going to stupidly ask if Blaine thought Kurt would live, but after one look in that boys eye’s he’d never be able to say such a thing. He felt stupid for even thinking about it.

“Okay.” Blaine sighed looking back down.

“He’s going to be okay.” Finn said trying to sound reassuring and comforting but he was mainly just telling himself that. He patted Blaine’s shoulder and went back to eating.

“I hope so. I just love him so much. I have no idea what I would ever do without him. I never wanted to have to think about it. But for the past two days it’s all I’ve been able to think about.” Blaine said sadly.

“He’s strong. He’ll pull through.” Finn said quietly, hoping he was right.

“I hope so. Do you wanna know the last thing he said to me?” Blaine asked the corners of his mouth tilting up in an almost smile.

“Was it about sex?” Finn questioned.

“No. He told me he loved me.” Blaine said fondly remembering the incident. God it had only been two days ago, yet it felt like Kurt had been stuck here for years.

“You guys tell each other that ever two seconds.” Finn commented.

“Yeah, but it’s almost as if I’ve begun taking it for granted. Those three words mean so much and I’ll never forget the love I felt for him and the worry that ran through me as he laid there in my hands before he closed his eyes.” Blaine said. Trying not to say the ‘closed his eyes forever’ that almost slipped out.

He couldn’t think like that.

Kurt would pull through.

Blaine and Finn sat in silence for awhile finishing their lunch and then grabbing two cups of coffee to take upstairs to Burt and Carole.

“Any news?” Blaine asked the second they entered the waiting room.

“Not yet sweetie.” Carole said sadly.

“Shouldn’t they know something by now?” Finn asked.

“We’re just going to have to wait.” Burt sighed.

After an hour or so the same doctor as before came down.

“Okay so I have some news.” She announced. “We managed to stop the internal bleeding, we’ve bandaged up his ribs and all of his other wounds, we put him through an MRI for the concussion and he checked out okay. As of right now he is in a medically induced comma. Which basically means we put him under to allow the pain medications to kick in and the pain to subside. He should be waking up in the next day or two. But he is doing fine. He seems to be recovering well and we will be moving him to another room shortly where you will all be able to visit.” The nurse explained.

“Okay.” Burt said after taking everything in.

“So he’s okay?!?” Finn asked cheerfully. To which the doctor answered “yes.”

“Oh thank God!” Blaine exclaimed as the family hugged each other.

“I’ll be sure to let you know when you all can go in to visit him; it should be another hour or so.” The doctor said.

“Okay, thank you.” Carole said.

The doctor exited and left the family in the waiting room.

This time they had hope.

Kurt was okay.

After a while Burt spoke up.

“Okay, so it’s Sunday night. We’ve all been cooped up here for awhile, how about we wait for the doctor to let us go visit; we see for ourselves that he’s okay. Then we go get some food and we all go home. The doctor said he shouldn’t be waking up for a few days, so we’ll all get some much deserved sleep. Monday Finn and Blaine can go back to school. I’m going to take off another day from the shop to come back here and then when you two are done with school and Carole gets off work we can all meet back up here. Sound good?” Burt asked.

Everyone agreed and went back to eagerly awaiting seeing Kurt.

Shortly after the doctor came back down and told them which room he was in and that they could visit.

“Okay he is staying in room 34 B on level two. He is still in his medically induced comma so don’t all barge in at once. And only family members can visit.” She said.

Everyone shook their heads and followed her to the elevator and then up to the room he was staying in.

They all began to enter but the doctor stopped Blaine.

“Only family.”

No one else had heard this because they were already at Kurt’s side.

“Wait.” Blaine said sadly a tear running down his face. Who would have know after all those he still had tears left.

Finn noticed him standing in the hallway and went up to him.

“What is it dude? We’re going to go see Kurt. He’s alive, cheer up!” Finn said patting Blaine on the back.

“I’m not allowed to see him because I’m not family.” Blaine sighed.

“Of course you’re family dude. Now come on.” Finn said tugging on Blaine’s arm but the doctor stopped him.

“I’m sorry, only family can see him right now.” The doctor said once again in a sad tone.

“But he is like family.” Finn pleaded.

“Please, I’m his boyfriend, and I love him so much. And I need to be in there with him.” Blaine said a few tears rolling down his cheeks.

“Look I’m really sorry, but it’s hospital policy. Only family can see him right now. Please go back down to the waiting room.” The doctor said in an apologetic yet still rude tone.

“O-okay.” Blaine said as he walked back to the elevator.

After all that they had been through, after everything that had happened, he wasn’t even allowed to see him.

To see for himself that he was indeed okay.

All Blaine wanted to do was comfort him.

To be there when he woke up.

But no, he had to sit in the stupid waiting rooms in one of those uncomfortable chairs, by himself.

While his boyfriend, the love of his life lay in a hospital bed two floors up.

He wanted so badly to hold Kurt's hand and tell him everything would be okay and that he loved him.

Was that too much to ask for?

Kurt needed support and comfort right now.

His family cold provide that for him.

And Blaine could wait downstairs.

It wasn’t fair.

At least Kurt was recovering well.

There was hope.

End Notes: TBC.
