“Order whatever you want, dinner’s on me! We’re celebrating! I’m so glad to have my family back together!” But beamed as everyone sat down at the table.
“Thanks dad, I’m glad we’re all back together too.” Kurt smiled.
“We missed you so much bro!” Finn pulled Kurt into a hug.
“I missed all of you guys so much. I’m so happy to be starting my life over.” Kurt’s eyes wet with happiness.
“You’re all caught up on school work, so if you think you can handle it you can return to McKinley for your senior year.” Burt offered.
“I do want to return. It’s where my friends are. They all helped me so much and I want to be back there with them.” Kurt smiled.
“Blaine, is there something you want to tell Kurt?” Burt asked practically shaking with excitement.
“I’ll be transferring to McKinley with you so we can spend out senior year together!” Blaine said excitedly.
“Oh my god! Yay yay yay!!! I love you so much! You didn’t have to transfer for me though.” Kurt cheered.
“I didn’t do it for you, I did it for me. I want this. I need this. I need to be with you Kurt. If that means leaving Dalton then whatever. I always want to be with you. I love you Kurt. Of course I’d be transferring to McKinley, I was going to even before all this drama happened.” Blaine smiled.
“You are so sweet!” Kurt cooed leaning in and kissing Blaine on the lips.
Blaine responded to the kiss but they pulled back awkwardly a few minutes later, they were in Lima Ohio after all so gay PDA was kind of frowned upon.
“I can’t wait to be in New York.” Blaine smiled giving Kurt’s leg a reassuring squeeze under the table.
“I can’t wait to be in New York with you.” Kurt said dreamily.
Yup his future was looking pretty good.
When their food came they all stared in amazement as Kurt willingly took large bites of his pasta.
“What?” Kurt asked wiping his mouth with a napkin. “Stop staring, you’re making me self conscious.” Kurt laughed.
“I’m just so happy you’re eating again!” Carole smiled.
“I’m so proud of you!” Blaine smiled squeezing Kurt’s leg again.
Everyone continued eating their meals each one occasionally looking back to Kurt smiling when they saw his plate was half way finished.
He certainly was getting better.
After dinner and the check Burt suggested they all head home making sure Blaine knew he was welcome to come back to their house.
Once back at the house they all sat in the living room and watched the game. Finn stretched out in the recliner, Burt and Carole on the sofa, and Kurt and Blaine cuddled together on the loveseat.
When the game ended Finn suggested they’d make it family night and play games, to which Blaine rapidly agreed and Burt and Carole just laughed.
“Sure Finn, sounds great.” Kurt smiled.
This was so nice.
He missed this.
It was so normal.
So right.
Things would be okay.
Finn was absolutely determined to make this the best family night ever. Telling everyone they were going to stay up all night and play games and drink soda and eat sugar.
“Awwh this sounds like fun!” Kurt smiled genuinely.
He was so happy that his stepbrother wanted to welcome him home so nicely.
It really was a loving gesture.
They all played silly board games and various card games well into the evening until Burt and Carole left to go upstairs to bed.
Now all that was left was Kurt lying on top of Blaine on the sofa and Finn playing cards by himself on the floor.
“Finn you can’t play go fish by yourself. It just doesn’t work.” Blaine laughed.
“What's that card game for the lonely people?” Finn asked.
“Solitary.” Kurt laughed. “Come on let’s do something else, I’m not going to sit here and watch you play solitary.” Kurt teased.
“Okay so what do you want to do? Whatever you want we’ll do it.” Finn smiled.
“What I want to do doesn’t involve you.” Kurt laughed kissing Blaine tenderly. “Unless you wanted to watch.” Kurt winked.
“Eww.” Finn laughed.
“You asked him what he wanted to do.” Blaine smiled.
“Well I meant like karaoke or something.” Finn laughed.
Blaine nearly pushed Kurt to the floor and his smile reached his eyes “Kurt can we please do karaoke?!?” Blaine asked cheerfully.
“You have an addiction to singing Blaine Warbler.” Kurt teased getting up off the floor.
“I’m addicted to you, and I have the perfect song!” Blaine said excitedly as Finn set up karaoke on his Xbox.
Blaine’s smile grew as he selected duet.
This went on for a few more hours until the tired of singing and went back to playing board games.
“These games are boring.” Finn complained.
“Hence bored-games.” Kurt teased.
Blaine couldn’t help but laugh.
He really did miss Kurt, his sense of humor, his laugh, his smile, just everything in general.
It was so nice having him back.
He couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with this boy.
He truly loved him.
