“Can you call Kurt for me while I drive?” Rachel asked as she through Blaine’s bag in the back seat and got in the driver’s side.
“Sure..What do I say? Do I just tell him I’ll be over his house later? That’s awkward Rach.” Blaine laughed looking for Kurt’s number.
“Just have a conversation with him Blaine. Don’t be awkward.” Rachel said nudging him as she started the car.
“Hey Kurt, its Blaine.” Blaine spoke clearly into the phone.
“Hey Blainers! What’s up? Everything okay?” Kurt asked and Blaine smiled at the sound of his voice.
“I’m okay I guess. My parents are still being jerks and I know tonight’s just going to be awful. So Rach made me pack up some things and everything I’ll need for tomorrow. So I guess I’ll be over when you get home from work.” Blaine explained.
“Okey dokey, no problem. I’m really sorry to hear about your parents. That sucks.” Kurt said sadly. “Well I’m leaving the mall now. I have my second job to get to, but I should be home around two am. Feel free to make yourself at home, and no need to wait up.” Kurt smiled thinking of Blaine sleeping in his bed.
“Okay, thank you so much Kurt. I’ll let you get to work now, and I’ll see you tonight.” Blaine said gratefully.
“It’s no problem Blainers. I’ll see you later. Bye.” Kurt smiled.
“Bye Kurt.” Blaine said before hanging up.
“Rachel?” Blaine asked after he got off the phone.
“Mmhhhmm?” Rachel responded focusing on the traffic ahead of her.
“Where does Kurt work?” Blaine asked cautiously.
“Um..The mall?” Rachel answered her eyes still glued to the road.
“No, I mean for his second job..” Blaine tried again.
“I actually don’t know.” Rachel hummed in thought.
“Is he like a hooker?” Blaine whispered and Rachel busted up laughing.
“Oh God no!” Rachel laughed nearly rear ending the car in front of her.
“It was a serious question.” Blaine pouted but then laughed at how ridiculous the question was.
“No Blaine, Kurt Hummel is not a prostitute. Although that’d probably be good money.” Rachel said contemplatively. “But no, he’s not a hooker or anything like that.” Rachel laughed.
“Oh okay, I was just checking.” Blaine blushed. If he had to admit it, he was a little jealous just thinking about Kurt with some stranger.
“I’m so telling him you guessed that.” Rachel laughed.
“Oh God, please don’t.” Blaine groaned.
“Hahaha that’s just too funny.” Rachel smiled.
“I was just wondering…” Blaine frowned.
“Still funny” Rachel laughed as she parked the car.
“Okey dokey, I’ll walk you up.” She said leading him over to the fire escape.
“Wait. Why do we have to use the window if he gave you a key?” Blaine asked confused.
“It’s not safe here Blaine. The people in this building are scary. Do you know what happens in Lima Heights Adjacent? Bad things Blaine!!! It’s scary, and I don’t think it’s safe to be around them. It’s just safer this way. Okay? Just don’t open the door for anyone, and be safe. Kurt will be home around two, so just make sure everything’s ready for school and get some sleep.” Rachel spoke as they climbed the fire escape.
“O-okay.” Blaine said now a little scared.
“Alright, see you tomorrow. I love you Blainey.” She said giving him a hug. “Give Kurt a kiss for me” she said with a wink before stepping out.
Now Blaine was all alone. He really took in the room, it was so tiny, so sad, yet somehow so homey. He liked it. He felt comfortable here.
He checked to make sure the door was locked before taking a quick shower and throwing on a pair of boxers and a t shirt.
It was only around ten and he had dinner with Rachel so he figured he’d just try and get some sleep.
He was only out for what felt like minutes, but was really a few hours, when he heard the window open and close and the mattress dipping next to him.
“Mmm hey Kurt.” Blaine said sleepily snuggling next to Kurt’s cold body.
Kurt embraced the warmth and hugged him back.
“Hey Blainers, how you doing?” Kurt asked as Blaine moved impossibly closer to him.
“Good.” Blaine smiled breathing in Kurt. “You smell like a bar.” Blaine said his eyes fluttering open to look at Kurt.
“Yeah I know, I should probably go shower. But I’m tired and you’re warm.” Kurt smiled.
“Where you out drinking? Do you have a fake ID” Blaine asked confused.
“No.” Kurt laughed. “I do have a fake ID but not for drinking. It’s for work.” Kurt shrugged. “I’m a bartender.” Kurt clarified. “Hence the bar smell.”
“Oh. That’s not a good job.” Blaine said holding Kurt tight.
“Yeah but I get good tips.” Kurt sighed.
“I understand.” Blaine replied sleepily.
“I wish I didn’t have to work there. It’s awful. But I need the money.” Kurt said softly.
“You’re very strong Kurt. I respect you.” Blaine said tiredly.
“I respect you too Blaine.” Kurt said muffling a yawn.
“Let’s go to sleep.” Blaine decided tightening his hold on Kurt.
“Night Blaine.”
“Night Kurt.” Blaine said kissing Kurt’s hair.
