Everyone exited the auditorium in a rush and once in the hallway things went crazy.
Quinn was still sobbing and yelling at Finn. Then Rachel came to his defense and Quinn began yelling at her.
“You can’t do this to me Finn! And you, Rachel, you man stealer. I bet you’re the reason he’s breaking up with me! Fuck you!” She screamed.
To which Rachel countered, “He’s probably leaving you because you are a crazy physcopath who only thinks of herself!”
Mercedes, Kurt, and Blaine who were observing the spectacle couldn’t help but laugh at this. “Really, she’s going to say that? Has she even seen herself?” Mercedes asked laughing in disbelief.
“How could you cheat on me?” Artie asked Brittany.
“I told you, Santana says isn’t not cheating because the plumbing is different, silly.” She said tapping him on the nose.
“Brittany, how could you be so-so stupid?” Artie asked completely hurt.
Brittany immediately burst into tears, “You-you’re the only one who has n-never called me t-thatt.” She said in between sobs. Before running away.
“Sorry dude.” Puck said patting him on the back.
Artie just looked down and let a few stray tears slip away.
Mercedes and Kurt just sadly shook their heads.
“Are you seriously fucking Brittany?” Sam asked in a very hurt voice.
“Yeah why? You want in? I’m sure Britts wouldn’t mind a threesome.” Santana said rudely.
“How long has this been going on? How long have you too been together?” He asked.
“First off, we are not together, because I am not a lesbian. But we’ve been fooling around since about 9th grade. Why?” she snapped back.
“So why have you been with soooo many other guys when secretly you’re with Brittany?” he asked.
“Again, I’m not with Brittany! And like I said in my song Britt’s my dirty little secret.” She teased.
“We need to break up. I can’t keep going out with you, knowing nights when we’re not together you’re in bed with someone else.” He said keenly.
“Fuck you.” Santana said as she bitch slapped him and began to rant something in rapid fire Spanish about Lima Heights Adjacent.
She was caught off from her rant when a teary eyed Brittany came running up to her and throwing herself into Santana’s arms.
“What’s wrong Britt?” Santana asked sadly while comfortingly stroking the back of Brittany’s hair.
“He called my stupid!” She cried into her arms.
“Fuck him; he’s just a stupid boy. Let’s go back to your place and we can “talk” about it, okay?” She said, actually putting air quotes around the word talk.
Brittany nodded, pulled Santana in for a hug and they walked out of school with their pinkies intertwined.
At this point things had begun to quite down and everyone slowly made their way back into the auditorium.
However they sat a little differently. Kurt and Blaine sat together holding hands in the row closest to the front with Mercedes right next to them. Mike and Tina sat down together a few seats over from where they were seated. Puck and Lauren sat in the row behind the five of them together. And the rest of the club members sat by themselves, spread out sporadically. Finn sat awkwardly in the far left corner, eyeing up Rachel who sat in the same row but on the entirely different end of the auditorium. Artie and Sam comforted each other a few rows back. And Quinn stood in the very very back of the auditorium next to the chairs.
“Where are Santana and Brittany?” Mr. Schue asked when he noticed everyone else was back in the room.
“Probably off somewhere making out.” Sam said coldly.
“How could I have not seen this coming?” Artie asked sadly.
“It’s okay dude, none of us knew,” Finn said reassuringly as the trio of Blaine, Kurt, and Mercedes slid down further into their chairs.
“Wait you guys knew? How?” Sam asked them pleading.
“Well I only knew from Kurt, and even so he just told me before she started singing.” Blaine said shyly.
“Kurt how’d-did you know?” Sam asked, his heart broken.
“Exceptional gaydar.” Kurt said coyly.
“Say’s the boy who thought he had a chance with both Finn and Sam?” Mercedes teased laughing wickedly.
“Oh shut up ‘Cedes! Need I remind you it was you who had a crush on me sophomore year?” he retorted.
The group laughed for a few minutes before Mr. Schue brought their attention back to him and asked if anyone else would like to go.
“I would Mr. Schue. And don’t worry; I don’t have anyone here to offend with my song.” Mercedes said standing up.
“Okay good. No more drama.” He said. “For today.” He added as an after note.
Mercedes made her way to the stage and filled the piano man in on the song and cued him to begin.
“Question: tell me what you think about me I buy my own diamonds and I buy my own rings Only ring your cell-y when I’m feelin’ lonely. When it’s all over please get up a leave
Question: tell me how you feel about this Try to control me boy you get dismissed. Pay my own fun, oh and I pay my own bills always 50/50 in relationships.
The shoes on my feet I’ve got it The clothes I’m wearin I’ve got it The rock I’m rocking I’ve got it ‘cause I depend on me if I wanted the watch you’r wearin I’ll buy it the house I live in I’ve got it The car I’m drivin I’ve bought it I depend on me I depend on me!”
Mercedes sang her words full of passion, expressing how she truly felt and demonstrating it through song.
Her song ended and everyone applauded.
“Very nice job Mercedes!” Mr. Schuester exclaimed.
“Awwh thanks Mr. Schue.” She said before returning to her seat.
“See we can express emotions and passion without destroying others, great job again Mercedes.” Mr. Schue said and everyone clapped again.
Kurt stood up and gave her a one person standing ovation as she returned to her seat next to him.
“Sit down fool.” She laughed before pulling him into a hug and kissing him on the cheek.
“Um hi, boyfriend right here.” Blaine said teasingly.
“Awwh love you too boo, I couldn’t forget about you.” She said petting his hair.
“Okay, anyone else want to go next?”
“I have the perfect song to sing, Mr. Schue.” Quinn said coldly.
Before anyone could protest she was up on the stage and Brad was playing her song.
The first few notes of the song began to play and Kurt whispered to Blaine and Mercedes “This won’t end well.”
