Kurt had just walked through his door, dropped his satchel on the floor and was making his way down the stairs to his room when his phone buzzed.

Wish me luck. If Rachel kills me, I just want you to know that it was fun knowing you x

Kurt scoffed, threw his phone on the bed and took his jacket off. If Kurt was honest with himself, he was still a bit scared. Even after Blaine’s little speech Kurt couldn’t shake the feeling that this was some huge practical joke. Kurt didn’t let people in, he just didn’t. He’d experienced loss before, and as a result he didn’t set himself up for it. He never let anyone get too close for the fear that one day they wouldn’t be there anymore. But then there was Blaine, and Blaine had just walked into his life and broken down all those barriers and Kurt realised that maybe the happiness he felt with Blaine was worth the fear, because wouldn’t he rather lose love than to never have it? Kurt wasn’t in love, yet. He could quite easily see himself falling for Blaine, but for goodness sake they’d only known each other for a week. Kurt had watched enough romantic movies to know what love was, and he wasn’t there yet.

—————

Blaine put his phone on the kitchen counter, and decided to wait until Rachel had finished piano practice to confront her. God help him if Blaine were to interrupt her freaking schedule.

‘I’m getting better at the piano’ Rachel exclaimed, walking into the kitchen and getting a glass of water, ‘I’m really good now actually’

Modesty was not one of Rachel’s strong points.

‘Rach, I need to talk to you’ Blaine fiddled with the fraying fabric of his cardigan.

‘Okay’ Rachel sat opposite him ‘Shoot’.

‘It’s about Kurt’ Blaine started.

‘Oh so you’re finally going to tell me about your little sleepover on Friday? It’s nice of you to finally let me know.’ Rachel rolled her eyes, ’You know Blaine, I don’t care anymore. Be friends with Kurt, whatever. I can’t be bothered, obviously neither of you care about how I feel about all of this, so just go ahead’

‘Rachel, that’s kinda what I want to talk to you about’ Blaine fidgeted on his seat, wondering how to tell his sister, ‘You may not care if we’re friends, but I thought you’d might like to know that things between Kurt and I have changed’

‘You’ve had an argument haven’t you?’ Rachel laughed, ‘I told you! He’s not a good influence on you Blaine, just be grateful it happened now and not in a few weeks or something. You can make better friends than-

‘Shut up Rachel’ Blaine interuppted ‘Kurt’s my boyfriend.’

‘What?’ Rachel’s eyes widened, and she placed her glass down on the table, ‘You’re joking right?’

‘No I’m not actually’ Blaine was getting annoyed now, ‘I’m not joking.’

‘No. You can’t do that. You’re not allowed.’ Rachel’s eyes were darting across the kitchen, as if they were searching for an answer.

‘Rach, come on. Be happy for me, Kurt’s your best friend for god’s sake, and I really really like him’ Blaine blushed, and started playing with the sleeves of his cardigan again.

‘He’s not my best friend. Best friend’s don’t date your brother’ Rachel pushed her chair out and stood up, ‘I’m not okay with this Blaine’

‘I don’t need you to be okay with it, just accept it’ Blaine sighed, sometimes he really questioned who the hell Rachel thought she was.

————-

‘I told her’ Blaine said, once Kurt had picked up his phone.

‘And?’ Kurt asked, obviously worried.

‘Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh’ Blaine sighed, ‘Can I come over?’

‘That bad, huh?’ Kurt held his hand over the speaker, ‘DAD. CAN BLAINE COME ROUND?’

Burt shouted up the stairs, ”Sure, Carole will set another plate’

‘Ouch, scream louder Kurt, I don’t think I’m completely deaf yet’

‘Shut up, come round as soon as you can’

‘See you in twenty’ Blaine hung up the phone, grabbed his jacket and his keys and didn’t even bother telling his sister where he was going.

He was pretty sure she knew.

——————

Blaine rang the door at the Hummel house and Kurt answered it almost immediately. Kurt took Blaine’s hand and led him down the stairs to his room, Kurt was not in the mood for small talk with his family and he needed to know what had happened.

‘Spill’ Kurt sat on the edge of the bed and crossed his legs.

‘Well hello to you too’ Blaine smiled, leaning down and kissing Kurt softly on the lips.

‘Later’ Kurt said, trying to hide his smile, ‘What happened?’

‘The usual, Rachel made it about herself, told me she wasn’t okay with us and is not really talking to me right now’

‘Great’ Kurt sighed, as Blaine sat down next to him on the bed, ‘What do we do now?’ Kurt asked, turning to face Blaine.

‘What do you mean?’

‘What should we do Blaine?’ Kurt put his head in his hands.

‘Well we could kiss again’ Kurt scoffed, ‘Hey you said later, this is later’

Kurt stood up and faced Blaine, ‘I know she’s your sister and my friend, but she is really fucking annoying sometimes.’

‘Sometimes?’ Blaine laughed, ‘When does she stop being annoying? Has that ever happened?’

Kurt smiled despite his bad mood.

‘Kurt we need to talk’ Blaine stood and walked towards Kurt, who suddely looked extremely worried.

‘Oh, Okay’

‘Look I’m really sorry Kurt, but I just don’t know how to feel about this you know?’ Blaine ran his fingers through his hair.

‘I thought this would happen’ Kurt averted his gaze to the floor, hoping that Blaine would just save him the embarassment of crying again and leave.

‘It’s just it’s really difficult you know?’ Kurt looked up, reading to ask Blaine what was so difficult? What had changed? When he realised Blaine was trying to suppress a smile.

‘What’s so funny?’ Kurt asked obviously annoyed.

‘I just don’t know how to feel Kurt’ Blaine moved closer to Kurt and put his hand on Kurt’s arm, ‘It’s just you said we could kiss later, and I’ve been waiting for like 5 minutes now.’

‘I hate you. I actually hate you’ Kurt pushed Blaine away and sat on his bed. Blaine was laughing, and Kurt pouted.

‘OH COME ON, you didn’t actually think that just because Rachel consumed a tonne of bitch flakes this morning, it would change this’ Blaine sat down next to Kurt and put his arm round him, ‘Sorry. I was trying to lighten the mood’ Blaine said, kissing the top of Kurt’s head.

‘I thought you were breaking up with me’

‘No, that won’t happen for a while’ Blaine sighed, Kurt looked up and him, his face once again fraught with worry, ‘You know until you meet a model and decide that my dorkiness is unbearable’

‘Seriously, hate you’ Kurt couldn’t bring himself to move though, Blaine’s arm was still around him and Kurt let his head fall on Blaine’s chest.

‘I love you too’ Blaine replied, Kurt’s heart stopped, he knew Blaine was only joking but still, Holy hell.

‘Hey come here’ Blaine said, and Kurt lifted his head up and Blaine kissed him softly on the lips.

‘Putting my hilarious jokes aside’, Kurt rolled his eyes, ‘We’re not breaking up. I don’t care what Rachel thinks, and you need to stop thinking I’m going to run at the first chance. I asked you to be my boyfriend remember? I want this.’

Kurt smiled, ‘You can be so cheesy sometimes’ Kurt let his head fall back on Blaine’s chest and they just sat there for a minute.

‘Hey, cheesey is good’ Blaine kissed Kurt’s forehead lightly.

‘Yeah cheese is good’ Kurt snuggled closer, ‘Hey Blaine?’

‘Hmm?’

‘Erm, even if you get a chance, don’t run, okay? Kurt asked.

‘I won’t. I promise’

I love Blaine's dorky jokes lol and how they're always flirting! --I do think the story progressed rather fast, but I like their personalities and little moments.
