Kurt & Blaine have their very first date. (Also, I think Blaine would be playing Kurt either Joni Mitchell or Jackson C Frank) Also this chapter is kinda looong.
 I can’t sleep.

Blaine looked at the message and smiled. It was 2am, and he couldn’t get to sleep either. He’d made himself a cup of tea, and listened to sounds of the ocean, and for some reason he couldn’t sleep. So much had happened today, Blaine couldn’t really focus on anything.

Blaine lay in bed, picked up his phone and dialed Kurt’s number.

‘Can’t sleep either?’ Kurt asked

‘Nope’ Blaine replied, picking up his pack of cigarettes and walking over to the window, ‘I even downloaded this stupid cd of ocean noises, but that didn’t help at all’ Blaine opened the window, lit his cigarette and sat on the windowsill. Blaine’s parents didn’t know he smoked, but he’d gotten away with this routine for months now.

‘Ocean noises?’ Kurt laughed.

‘I’m a dork, remember?’ Blaine replied.

‘I hadn’t forgotten. So,’ Kurt began, ‘How are you?’

‘I’m okay. I guess.’

‘I guess? What’s up?’ Kurt asked.

‘Well. I met this really cute guy the other day, right?’ Blaine smiled, ‘And we’ve kissed and everything, and I really like him. But I don’t really know if he likes me back.’

‘That’s a tricky situation you’ve got yourself in there Anderson’ Kurt laughed.

‘What should I do?’ Blaine asked

‘Well have you asked him on a date?’

‘No I haven’t actually’ Blaine took a drag of his cigarette, ‘I’m worried he’ll say no’

‘Well you won’t know until you ask him’ Kurt offered.

‘Hmmm. Interesting’ Blaine shut the window and stubbed out his cigarette, ‘On a completely unrelated note, are you free on Friday?’

‘Unrelated?’ Kurt laughed, ‘I am free on Friday, why?’

‘Just thought maybe you could come round and you could help me out with my ‘cute guy problem”

‘Oh, I don’t know about that, I’ve got enough cute guy problems of my own’ Kurt laughed

‘We can talk about it on Friday?’ Blaine offered.

‘Oh definietly’

‘Hey Kurt’ Blained asked

‘Yeah?’

‘It’s a date’

‘I’ll be there at 7… for our date. Night Blaine. Or should I say morning’

‘Well morning to you too Kurt’

Blaine hung up the phone and turned off his bed side light. He had a date. With Kurt Hummel. On Friday. Hooooly shit.

——————

The rest of the week passed by in a boring blur of french classes and glee practices. Every day Blaine and Kurt would meet in one of the empty music rooms and talk about Glee, or their favorite movies, or what places they’d want to visit. Most days Blaine would bring Kurt a coffee in the morning, and Kurt would bring Blaine one at lunch.

It was Friday lunch, and Kurt and Blaine were sitting opposite each other in one of the music rooms.

‘Uh, I hate french. I hate it so much.’ Blaine sighed, shutting his French textbook and pushing it away from him.

‘The homeworks not in for two weeks, just forget about it’ Kurt offered.

‘Hold on’ Blaine looked up, ‘Kurt Hummel is telling me to forget about french homework? Something is wrong.’ Blaine laughed

‘You’re right.’ Kurt said, ‘Something is wrong’

‘Wait’ Blaine stopped laughing, ‘Are you okay?’

‘No not really’ Kurt replied, ‘It’s just… You’re all the way over there and I’ve kinda wanted to hug you all day’ Kurt smiled.

‘Oh well, that I can fix’ Blaine got up and walked around to sit in the chair next to Kurt and put his arm around him.

‘I’ve missed this’ Kurt said

‘Me too’ Blaine replied, ‘Going to class sucks, we should just stay in here all day and listen to music and drink coffee’

‘Ah, don’t tempt me’ Kurt snuggled into Blaine’s side.

‘Hey, so are we still on for our date tonight? Blaine asked

‘Hmmm, Let me see, I just need to check with all the guys who want me, you know make sure I’m free’

‘I hate you sometimes’ Blaine said, nudging Kurt a little.

‘No you don’t’ Kurt laughed.

‘Ahhh, you’re right. And that’s what’s so frustrating’

‘Come on, we better get to French’ Kurt said.

Blaine groaned, and held Kurt a bit tighter, ‘Nope. Not moving’

‘Come on, Anderson. Get up.’

‘Fine, but you’re bringing me the coffee on Monday morning’ Blaine said.

‘Deal’

—————-

Kurt was at his house getting ready for his date with Blaine, when he heard the front door bell ring. He went downstairs, picked up his keys from the side and put his jacket on.

‘Heading out bro?’ Finn asked

‘Yeah just going round a friends’ Kurt explained, sitting on the chair by the door doing up his boots.

‘Finn, I can’t get the dvd player to work’ Kurt heard a voice coming from the living room. Rachel. Well that would make his date with Blaine easier.

Rachel turned the corner and smiled, ‘Going somewhere Hummel?’ she asked.

‘Yeah just going round to Mercedes, to borrow some CDs’ Kurt lied. He wasn’t going to let Rachel’s crazy ruin his mood.

‘Oooh, let me borrow them after you’ Rachel asked.

”course’ Kurt picked up his satchel and headed out to the car.

———-

Kurt knocked on the door of the Anderson-Berry household. He knew that Rachel’s dad was rich, and that when he and Blaine’s mom had married they had moved into the posh area of Lima, but Kurt couldn’t get over how nice Blaine’s house was. Blaine answered the door, and smiled.

‘You’re early’ Blaine said.

‘My other dates cancelled. I had nowhere else to be’ Kurt smiled, leaning in a hugging Blaine.

‘Ahh their loss is my gain’ Blaine replied, holding Kurt just that little bit closer.

‘Okay, so you have a choice to make. Choose wisely, Hummel’ Blaine smiled, shutting the door behind Kurt and walking into the lounge.

‘We can either eat, and then watch a movie. Or watch a movie and eat’ Blaine said.

‘Depends on what movie you want to watch’

‘I was thinking’ Blaine said, leaning over and picking up some DVDS, ‘either Life Of Brian, Love Actually, or we could watch some Flight of the Conchords’

‘I’ve never seen any of those’ Kurt replied.

‘What?! You’ve never seen Love Actually? Okay we’re watching that’ Blaine said, putting the other two dvds back on the table, ‘It’s sort of a Christmas film but who cares?’

Blaine had made pasta and set out two bowls on the table in front of the tv. The room was dark, and Kurt and Blaine were sitting far away from each other on the sofa. Once they had both eaten, Blaine took the bowls and came back in with two mugs of tea and set them down.

‘Kurt,’ Blaine started, sitting back down on the sofa, ‘This is a date right?’

‘It certainly is’ Kurt nodded and smiled.

‘Well get the hell over here and let’s snuggle’ Blaine laughed.

‘If I must’ Kurt sighed, and shuffled over on the couch so that his knees where bent behind him and his head was leaning on Blaine’s side.

‘Ah this is better’

They watched the movie and Kurt fell in love with it. To be honest, it became one of Kurt’s favourite movies the minute he figured out that Hugh Grant was playing the British Prime Minister.

When the movie ended, Blaine suggested they went up to his room and listen to some music. Blaine had a pretty extensive vinyl collection, and put on an album by some old folk artist that Kurt had never heard of.

‘You’ve got a pretty unique taste in music’ Kurt commented.

‘I guess’ Blaine said, putting the LP case back in the box with the others, ‘I mean most people our age don’t listen to this stuff, but I’m a big fan of the oldies.’

‘Why?’ Kurt asked.

‘I dont’ know. It’s the lyrics. I mean I love the melodies and the guitar parts but the lyrics are just… I don’t know they’re more meaningful than a lot of the stuff written today’

Blaine sat down next to Kurt on the bed and sighed.

‘Kurt, can I kiss you now?’

‘That’s a stupid question’ Kurt replied.

‘Why?’ Blaine looked slighty confused and a little worried.

‘You don’t have to ask to kiss me. You can just do it. Whenever you want. ’ Kurt smiled.

Blaine leaned in and Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine’s waist. They kissed for what felt like hours, and somehow they’d ended up lying on Blaine’s bed, with their hands entwined.

Blaine pulled back, ‘I’ll go make us some more tea’ he offered.

Kurt just lay there. How the hell did this happen? Kurt thought back to a few days ago where he felt so completely alone. But Blaine had changed that.

Not only in the sense he had someone to talk to and to hang out with, but there was another out gay kid at school. Kurt just, couldn’t believe his luck really.

Blaine walked back into the room, once again with two mugs of tea, and set them on the bedside table.

‘So, we can totally watch life of brian now’ Blaine smiled, putting the dvd into the tv on the opposite side of the room.

Somewhere between the dvd being put on, and when Blaine snuggled next to Kurt in the bed, both boys fell asleep. It was late when Rachel got back, she and Finn had watch a movie, and then Rachel let Finn hear the new covers she’d been learning for Glee club

When Rachel saw Kurt’s car on the drive, she thought maybe that he’d come round to give her the CDS she’d asked for.

When she walked up the stairs and opened Blaine’s door however, she realised that Kurt definietly hadn’t come round to see her.

Rachel shut the door, and decided to wait until Monday to confront Kurt.
