The next year was an extremely stressful one for the Hummel- Anderson's. Much of it was spent going back and forth from New York to Ohio while they established themselves back in Lima. Neither Kurt or Blaine were enthusiastic about the move, or the time they had to spend apart, but it needed to be done. Burt was unable to walk much, and his speech, while greatly improved, was still affected. He had regained a significant of movement in his arms recently though, and this was a hopeful sign. There were still a million little things he still needed help with, and that was where Kurt pitched in to give Carole a break.
It was none other than Sugar Motta, now a realtor, who had helped them find their new home. Her enthusiasm for helping her former teammates find a home was infectious, and almost made the house hunting bearable. By the middle of June, the whole family was reunited full-time under one roof.
Mr. Schuster had been instrumental in helping Blaine secure a teaching position and Harding Elementary as the music teacher, while Kurt taught a few theater classes at Ohio State's Lima campus. One of Blaine's co-workers was none other than their fellow glee club member Joe Hart, who also happened to be Gabriel's 4th grade teacher.
The Saturday after school started, Blaine had traveled to Westerville to meet up with his old friends Nick and Jeff for lunch. This had been the cause of a minor argument with Kurt, who was hoping to make other plans.
"Fine Blaine, just pick up something for dinner then so I don't have to cook later." Kurt had said testily walking away.
"Fine.." Blaine said rolling his eyes and walking out the door.
It was 4:30 well after the time Blaine should have returned. Kurt had called Blaine's cell several times with no answer and he was beginning to get angry and to worry. He decided to call Jeff.
"This is Jeff.."
‘Jeff, this is Kurt, is Blaine still with you?"
"What? No, he left 2 hours ago...he's not home yet?""Not, yet, but we had a little argument. Did he say anything about going somewhere else after lunch?" Kurt asked still worried
"No, in fact he said he was going to pick up dinner on the way and head straight home so you wouldn't be mad at him."
Just then call waiting beeped in, Kurt saw it was Blaine's number. "Oh, never mind, that's him beeping in...thanks Jeff.." Kurt clicked the phone over and answered
"Where the hell are you, it's almost 5! Jeff said you left hours ago!" Kurt scolded
"Um, is this Kurt?" a female voice came over the other end.
"Who is this? How did you get my husband's phone?" Kurt asked realizing it wasn't Blaine.
"My name is Sally, I"m a Nurse at Lima General. Would you know how to get in touch with Mr. Anderson's parents? There's been an emergency
