Author's Notes: Okay, this chapter includes quotes from some of my favorite movies, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Proceed with caution.
“You all remember Blaine, right?” Rachel said as she and Blaine approached the table of New Directions members in the cafeteria. Everyone greeted him warmly and Blaine let himself relax a bit as he sat down across from Artie.

“How’s the first day going?” Mercedes asked sweetly from Blaine’s left. Blaine shrugged.

“It’s alright, I guess. Better than I anticipated.” Blaine smiled and looked around the table for Kurt, but the boy was absent. Blaine looked curiously around the cafeteria before mentally scolding himself. He shouldn’t be worrying about Kurt’s ware bouts. He shouldn’t be thinking about Kurt at all.

“-she’s such a bitch,” Puck finished, bringing Blaine back to the conversation. Puck was looked at Blaine like he was waiting for a reaction of some kind.

“Noted,” Blaine said, still unsure of what the conversation as even about. Suddenly a messenger bag crashed onto the table next to Blaine, causing his to jump. He looked up and saw a frustrated looking Kurt sit down with a huff. Kurt ran a hand through his hair. “You alright?” Blaine asked softly, worrying once again. Kurt exhaled deeply and Blaine watched him carefully.

“Just- unneeded drama,” Kurt said dismissively.

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Kurt snorted.

“Did you just quote Harry Potter?” he asked with a smile.

“Did you just snort?”

“Touch.” Blaine smiled and looked down at him tray of food before looking back up at Kurt. Blaine had never felt this way about anyone before, but the bigger problem was that he didn’t know what to do with those feelings. Kurt looked back at him and stared into Blaine’s eyes. That was another thing he liked about Kurt. Kurt wasn’t afraid to look at you. It made the moment feel more intimate.

“Kurt?” a voice called from the other end of the table.

“What?” Kurt asked, snapping his head away from Blaine and jumping a little away from the boy. Blaine looked down at his lap and chewed on the inside of his cheek. Blaine heard Rachel laugh distantly. Blaine seriously needed to get a grip. He barely knew Kurt, this was his first day, and he wasn’t really in the position to expect anything from him. Happiness, Blaine reminded himself. He rejoined the conversation and tried to keep a positive mindset.

“Rachel, how have you never been drunk before?” asked Puck and his mouth formed a perfect ‘O.’ Rachel ran her fingers through her hair absently. She looked to Blaine, but he propped his head on his hands and smiled widely at her.

“I don’t know,” she finally. “I don’t go to parties or anything,” she said in a small voice.

“Then it’s settled,” Puck said as he clasped his hands together loudly. “We’re throwing a party this weekend.” Everyone let out a ‘whoop’ of excitement.

“Our parent’s are out of town this weekend,” Blaine said and all eyes immediately went to him. “We can have it at our house.” Rachel’s eyes bugged out of her head and she began sputtering out reasons why they couldn’t.

“Awesome!” Sam said excitedly, and everyone else joined in, completely ignoring Rachel’s protests. Blaine looked to his sister.

Relax, Blaine mouthed, I’ll take full blame if anything happens.

Blaine, Rachel began, still defiant.

Please, Blaine begged. He didn’t know why he wanted this party to happen so badly, but something was telling him that he had to do this. Rachel sighed.

I still don’t like it.

Blaine smiled, knowing that that meant yes. He looked back at the other Glee Club members and felt his smile grow. It was nice to feel accepted. Maybe that’s why Blaine wanted to throw this party. Either way, he felt jubilant, and wasn’t going to question it.

He began talking with Mercedes until the lunch period was over, at which point he had History with Rachel. Rachel linked her arm with her brother and pulled him along to class, apparently taking the scenic route and showing him various parts of the school as they walked. Once they finally arrived at the classroom, Rachel introduced Blaine to the teacher.

She was a stout woman with short copper hair, who looked to be about fifty. “Good afternoon, Mrs. Alexander,” Blaine said sweetly, putting on his most charming smile. His teacher smiled sweetly at him. She pointed him to his desk and Blaine sat down gingerly. He already liked this woman. She smiled at him once more before addressing to rest of the class.

“Pop quiz!” she said in an evil voice that made Blaine shrink down into his desk. Where did that come from? Mrs. Alexander passed out the sheets of paper, but stopped when she reached Blaine’s desk. “Don’t worry, dear, you’re excused from the quiz,” she said, using that sweet tone again. Blaine was beginning to feel a little frightened. He smiled, unsure of what else to do. Once his teacher walked away, Blaine let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding in.

At the end of the period, Blaine wasn’t shocked to see everyone in the room jump out of their seats and mull each other trying to get to freedom. Blaine got up in a sort of daze and found Rachel leaning against the wall waiting for him. “Blaine? You okay?” Blaine stared at his sister for a moment before he found his voice.

“I think my balls are literally in my stomach.”

“Hey, guys, what’s- oh God, you just met Mrs. Alexander, didn’t you?” asked Finn as he walked up and put an arm around Rachel. Blaine nodded his head slowly. “Did she chew you out? God, she I swear she almost made me cry on my first day.” Blaine looked between the two with widened eyes.

“You mean she’s not supposed to be nice to new people? What the hell does this mean?”

Rachel put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder. “I don’t know, but whatever it is, you may want you balls to stay up there.”

“Oh God,” Blaine muttered.

“Ready for Glee Club?” Kurt said enthusiastically as he joined the group with Mercedes. His eyes traveled to Blaine, where they froze and Kurt’s smile faded. “What-”

“Alexander,” Finn filled in. Kurt made a face and walked in front of Blaine, pushing him backward and away from the group. Blaine looked down at Kurt’s hands on his arms and felt warmth emanating from the boy’s touch. Kurt moved his face to try and see Blaine’s face, and Blaine couldn’t help but get lost in those blue orbs of perfection.

“You’ll be okay; it’ll take a few days, but I’ll give you my Kurt Hummel Tips for Avoiding Unavoidable Teachers.” That made Blaine smile a little.

“Thanks, Kurt.”

“What would you do without me?”

“Hang out in girl’s locker rooms, most likely.” Kurt shoved him playfully. “Hey, don’t pick on the new kid,” Blaine scolded and Kurt rolled his eyes.

“Could you be any more of a dork?”

“I’m sorry I brought this upon you, my boy.” Kurt gave him a weird look. “I’m sorry you must carry this burden. I’m sorry for everything!”

“Apparently you can. Is that Lord of the Rings?” Kurt asked incredulously.

“They will find the Ring, and kill the one who carries it.”

“Blaine.”

“So you have chosen…death.”

“Blaine,” Kurt said, “I get it. You’re the king of dorks.”

“The mines are no place for a pony, even one so brave as Bill.”

“Blaine! Oh my God, shut up!” Blaine laughed a little and Kurt tried to hide a smile. “Can we just go to Glee Club before you give me a headache? Plus, you shouldn’t be late on you’re first day.”

“A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.” Blaine looked at Kurt with a smile, waiting for the other boy to smile, but Kurt just shook his head and began walking toward the choir room.

“I’m going to kill that boy,” Kurt mumbled. Blaine jogged to catch up to him and they walked together quietly. Kurt’s hand bumped into his a few times, and after the third time, Blaine looked sideways at Kurt.

“If you wanted to hold my hand, all you had to do was ask,” Blaine said, expecting Kurt to laugh, but instead he saw the boy’s cheeks grow pink. Blaine had not been expecting that at all.

End Notes: I hope you all are enjoying this story, because I am definitely enjoying writing this. I know it's only minor Klaine right now, but I promise it will get more prominent. Patience.

You know I have no patience, but I'm trying for you.

i like this story. it's light, fun, with a hint of flirty. but i did notice in this chapter a couple of sentences that were written in the first person I and not in the third person you. here's what i found: " "Rachel, how have you never been drunk before?" asked Puck and his mouth formed a perfect ‘O.' Rachel ran her fingers through her hair absently. She looked to me, but I propped my head on my hands and smiled widely at her. "

Oh, God! Thank you for showing that to me. I usually always write in first person, so I wanted to try my hand and third. I guess my fingers betrayed me >:( but thank you!!
