Jermaine was waiting for Blaine at the car, ready to go home when he saw Kurt and Blaine leaving together and something inside Jermaine snapped.

He waited for Kurt to say his goodbye and drive off before rounding on Blaine.

“Is that what you call not hanging out with him? Huh? Blaine?” Jermaine snapped, anger firing up in his eyes.

This frightened Blaine - when Jermaine got this angry there was no telling what he’d do. Last time, when Jermaine found out about the coffee trip, Blaine had ended up in a crumpled heap at the bottom of his bookcase, cheek throbbing, lip swelling.

“We bumped into each other as I left the library. It would have been rude to ignore him,” Blaine half-lied. Yes he’d bumped into Kurt but not at the library.

“You’re lying to me, Blaine!” yelled Jermaine, clenching his right fist and grabbing Blaine's arm with his right squeezing hard, digging his nails in.

“I wasn’t hanging out with him, JJ, I wasn’t,” Blaine said as he tried to pull free of Jermaine’s grip

“Yeah right, Blaine!”

Jermaine swung his fist. A metallic taste filled Blaine's mouth as Jermaine’s right fist collided with Blaine's left cheek.

“When are you going to get that I can always tell when you’re lying?” asked Jermaine.

“Please, JJ, stop,” pleaded Blaine as Jermaine punched him in the stomach.

Pain radiated from his cheek, he doubled over at the force of Jermaine’s punch.

“So how long have you been cheating on me then, huh?” demanded Jermaine.

“I haven’t, JJ, I wouldn’t… I’d never cheat on you. You mean everything to me,” sobbed Blaine; the tears that streamed down his face seemed to slightly soothe his cheek.

“Don’t. Lie. To. Me,” each word punctuated with a blow to Blaine's stomach.

Jermaine then grabbed Blaine by the shirt and slammed him against the car bonnet; Blaine felt the radiator dig into his thighs.

“How long, Blaine?” Jermaine snarled.

“Jermaine, I would never cheat on you. I love you, only you,” said Blaine tears still streaming down his face.

“Quit lying, Blaine, you’ve been caught,” said Jermaine slapping Blaine’s right cheek.

“Please stop, JJ, you’re scaring me, I haven’t done anything.”

“Shut up and tell me how long you’ve been fucking cheating on me!” yelled Jermaine slamming Blaine in to the car repeatedly. Blaine's head banged against the cold metal, and his glasses started to slide down his nose.

“I haven’t,” Blaine sobbed.

Then Jermaine picked him up by his shirt collar and through him into the car next to them. Blaine fell into a crumpled heap at the wheel arch.

“If you are going to keep lying to me then you can walk home. Give me a call when you’re ready to admit your betrayal, and we can a talk it out.”

And with that Jermaine climbed into the car and drove off. Blaine gingerly got up to his feet and fished in his bag for his cell. Tears streaming down his face he quickly dialled the number that he had memorised.

“H-hi. It- It’s Blaine,” he managed to stutter down the phone, his back, cheek and arm seared with pain.

“Blaine, what is it? Are you okay?” came the voice from the other end of the line.

“No! Jermaine and I had a huge fight and I’m stuck at school and he lives with me now and, and..” his voice racked with sobs.

“Don’t go anywhere, Blaine, I’m on my way.”

The other person hung up and Blaine went to sit on the kerb, and allowed himself to fully break down. Blaine was sure Jermaine loved and cared about him, and he knew he had a temper but he’d never gone this far…
