Blaine sat down quietly in the back of the auditorium, transfixed by Kurt and his voice. The stage lighting hit him just right, and his hair glinted slightly, like a shiny penny.

Now I'm falling asleep

Blaine stood up and began applauding enthusiastically. Kurt was really good, why wasn’t he in glee club?

Shit, he’d been caught. He didn’t think anyone would be coming; glee had ended at all extra-curricular classes finished at 4.

“W-who’s there?” he asked cautiously.

“It’s me,” said Blaine, leaving the shadows. “You’re a great singer. How come you’re not in the glee club? We could really use a voice like yours.”

“I- can’t be in glee,” said Kurt straightening up his uniform. “They won’t take me back.”

“Of course you ca- wait what? Take you back?”

“Well, I was in the glee club before I became a cheerio.” he said pulling at his red and white uniform, “I had to leave glee. I wanted to be a cheerio, and I wanted to be accepted. I didn’t want to be harassed anymore… no-one can get glee and cheerio’s to work.”

“But just because you left, I’m sure they’d still take you back,” said Blaine climbing up on to the stage.

“No, they won’t… When I left I abandoned them before sectionals, the club almost got disbanded. They’d never forgive me - they needed me and I left them, I abandoned my friends for this red and white uniform.”

“Oh,” said Blaine. “I’m sure if you apologised-”

“No, they wouldn’t… but you’re back in glee?”

“Yeah, you we’re right, he was making me give up too much, so I joined again behind his back. He thinks I’m tutoring someone,” said Blaine.

“Oh well, I’m glad you we’re back in glee club. I bet they missed you.”

“I bet they miss you too.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah…” Blaine paused. “I should erm, go - Jermaine’s waiting for me.”

“Yeah, I should be going too,” said Kurt.

The two boys left the auditorium.

“That song you sung is one of my favourites, you know?” said Blaine.

“You like The Killers?” asked Kurt.

“Yeah! I have all their albums, I love Mr. Brightside and Jenny.”

“Oh Jenny is a good one. What about Indie R n R?” asked Kurt beaming because he and his crush shared the same music taste.

“Oh my god, it is awesome… I really want to get the glee club to do a Killers number but Mr. Schue will only let us do-”

“Journey and Show tunes?” Kurt cut in. The two boys shared a look and laughed

They got outside, Blaine said his goodbye to Kurt, and he saw Jermaine. He wasn’t prepared for what was going to happen next.
