The group was sitting at the Cheerleaders table; it was surprising how well Blaine and Jermaine had worked their way into the group. They were dining with McKinley High’s elite.

They usually had fun, Blaine would laugh at Kurt’s jokes. Blaine would look happy, but over the past few weeks Blaine had begun getting quieter. It saddened Kurt to see Blaine upset, even more so to see the purple marks on his wrists.

“Hey, Blaine,” said Jermaine, “fancy going to the cinema tonight?”

“Yeah, sure,” said Blaine, keeping his eyes down cast.

Jermaine reached to take Blaine’s hand and he flinched slightly.

“What would you like to go see?” Jermaine asked smiling at Blaine.

“Whatever, there’s not much on I’d like to see,” Said Blaine quietly.

Kurt knew that was a lie - just last week they had been talking about going to see Tom Felton’s new film together, Blaine really wanted to go see that.

What was Jermaine doing to Blaine, making him scared like that, causing him pain? Causing Blaine to lose his spark? Kurt couldn’t sit there and watch anymore so he excused himself and walked to the choir room; he knew nobody would be there to see him break down.

“Kurt, wait,” said Rachel as she entered the choir room.

“I’m sorry, I just couldn’t stay watching him do that, seeing how uncomfortable he was,” said Kurt, he couldn’t sit there and watch how Blaine flinched every time Jermaine moved. He had bruises on his arms.

“I know, Kurt, I know,” said Rachel, pulling Kurt into a tight hug.

“I just don’t see why he stays with him, he’s obviously unhappy… I just- I don’t like seeing Blaine upset, he used to be so happy. He even cancelled our study sessions because of him.”

“Really? He wanted to tutor you. He loved it, he told me… err Kurt?”

“Yeah, What is it?” questioned Kurt.

“Well,” began Rachel, “you know I helped Blaine out a few weeks ago?”

“Yeah?” asked Kurt wondering what the hell this had to do with the fact that he couldn’t stand to see how unhappy Blaine was.

It broke his heart, he knew that they were dating and that he hadn’t told Blaine how he felt, but if Blaine was with him Kurt would be good to him, make him happy, not make him flinch, or be terrified like that.

“Well, I found out, that he… err had, has a crush on you. But I promised him I wouldn’t tell because you have Chandler,” asked Rachel.

“What?! He liked me?” asked Kurt disbelievingly. He thought that Blaine would never like him. But then again he’d been wrong about Blaine dating Jermaine, before now at least.

“Yes, but Kurt you have Chandler.”

“No, I don’t” admitted Kurt, quietly.

“WHAT?!?! What happened?! You know, you never did tell us what happened after the pep rally.”

“We broke up. After that fight we had about him being clingy, he was angry, and-and he went to Scandals. He got drunk,” said Kurt, as the tears started to fall down his face. “And he kissed one of the strippers.”

“Oh, Kurt,” said Rachel, “why didn’t you tell us?”

“I guess I forgot,” said Kurt. “I was busy thinking about Blaine and the tutor session and the fact I could crush on him without it feeling like cheating.”

“Oh, honey, you really like him, don’t you?”

“Err, yeah I think I do, he’s amazing Rachel, he is everything…” said Kurt. “He deserves the world, he should be happy.”

“Maybe you should tell him Kurt,” said Rachel.

“Yeah, maybe,” said Kurt.
