Blaine arrived at Breadstix to find Jermaine sitting at a table waiting, a single rose in a vase in the middle and Jermaine was dressed smartly in his fitted suit jacket and a tie. Blaine had forgotten how great Jermaine looked in a suit. Jermaine didn’t need to do this though; it was Blaine who should be apologising.

“Hi, what’s all this for?” asked Blaine as he sat down at the table and looked at his best friend.

“B-Blaine,” Jermaine stuttered. “I need to tell you something.”

“What is it? You know, you can tell me anything,” said Blaine reaching across the table and taking Jermaine’s hand. “I’m always here no matter what.”

“Yeah, I know. What I have to say is very hard for me; please don’t say anything until I’m finished,” Blaine nodded.

“Well, remember back at Dalton when you sang ‘Something Stupid’ to me, and I said that I was straight?”

How could Blaine forget, that had broken him. He’d loved Jermaine and he’d shot him down, broke his heart. Part of him still loved Jermaine

“Well, I lied, I’m sorry, I just- I couldn’t come out, not then. I was too scared, and well, I’ve-I’ve fallen for you Blaine, I had, really from the moment you sung that song, the moment I met you. I love how you are so out there and proud, that you don’t care what the world thinks about you.”

“Oh, JJ,” said Blaine, he didn’t know what else to say.

But then it all became clear, Blaine could see all the love that Jermaine had for him. Just everything, everything Jermaine was. He was seeing things he couldn’t yesterday, the things Jermaine wanted him to see yesterday.

“I was going to tell you yesterday at lunch, that’s why I was so upset that you hung out with Kurt. I love you, Blaine… Could we maybe go out sometime?” asked Jermaine, sounding hopeful.

“Yeah, I’d like that,” said Blaine, although he still loved Kurt, nothing was going to happen there - Kurt had Chandler. Wasn’t it time that Blaine had somebody? Somebody to love him, to hold him close?

“Really?”

“Of course really, JJ, I love you, I always have,” said Blaine earnestly, he had always loved Jermaine… he’d never really stopped, Jermaine was his first crush.

Jermaine blushed, his eyes shined with tears.

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t cry, JJ…”

“I’m just so happy Blaine,” said Jermaine tears streaming down his face. “I am dating the most beautiful boy in school.”

“What? You think I’m the most beautiful boy in school?” questioned Blaine, he didn’t believe him, both Kurt and Jermaine were tied for that title in Blaine’s opinion.

“Well you’re the only one I notice Blaine, you always have been!”

Blaine turned crimson, bringing his hand up to modestly scratch his neck.

“That’s, that’s really sweet, JJ, I’m sorry I didn’t see this before… and- shit all my pining after Kurt, I must have made you feel awful, I’m sorry.”

“Oh, don’t be, Blaine, you know now and we’re happy,” said Jermaine. “You are happy, right? I mean, what about Kurt?”

“Kurt? Well, like you said, nothing is going to happen between us… He loves his boyfriend just like I love mine.”

“Oh, Blainers,” someone cooed.

“Lola, I didn’t know you were working tonight, I thought you and Dave were having a quiet night in tonight.” said Blaine turning to face his friend.

Lola was a tallish girl with long black hair, which she always wore in a neat bun.

“Yeah well, we were but, Jenny is off with the flu and they are really short staffed so Sally gave me a call and asked us to come in, she put Dave on the bar… I’ll be surprised if there will be any of his pay check left at the rate he’s dropping stuff,” said Lola, turning to stare at her boyfriend, as he dropped his tenth glass of the evening.

Lola and Blaine laughed.

“Ha-ha, well that’s Dave… It’s why we normally put him as maître Dee. There are extra shifts going? I’ll talk to Sally tomorrow,” said Blaine pushing his glasses up his nose.

“Yeah, all of Jenny’s for the next two weeks. Anyway, are you going to introduce me to your boyfriend, Blaine?”

“Oh, yeah, how rude of me. Lola this is Jermaine. Jermaine this is Lola, she’s a part of my usual shift team,” said Blaine beaming.

“It’s nice to finally meet you; Blaine has told us many a story about his friend Jermaine… Anyway, the reason I’m here. Can I get you guys any drinks? They’re on the house. And I’ll make them I don’t trust Dave,” said Lola with a wink.

“Could we have two sparkling ciders?” asked Blaine. “We’re celebrating.”

“Sure, Blaine. I’m so happy you’ve got someone,” and with that Lola left.

The evening went lovely, Blaine couldn’t remember being so happy, except maybe when he was with Kurt earlier.

“I’ve had a lovely evening, thanks, JJ” said Blaine beaming.

“I’m glad,” said Jermaine, pausing. “I’m glad I finally told you.”

“Me too,” said Blaine. “Would you like to join Kurt, Rachel, Mercedes, and Tina in homeroom tomorrow? Kurt invited us after his tutor session,” said Blaine nervously, he’d just asked his new boyfriend to go sit with his crush in homeroom.

“Err… well,” Jermaine started, but he saw Blaine’s face fall slightly, he didn’t like seeing Blaine upset. “Sure. Sounds like fun.”

Well, at least this way he could keep Blaine happy and state his claim on Blaine, just so that Kurt knows that he belongs to Jermaine. Jermaine couldn’t lose Blaine, he’s the only person in Jermaine’s life who would accept him, for who he is, not even his sister, Grace, would. She’s too much of a daddy’s girl.

“Are you sure? I mean we don’t have to I just thought it was nice of him as the head cheerleader to invite us to sit with him.”

“Yeah,” said Jermaine.

I’m sure he only asked you to be nice, and it has nothing to do with how hot you are, thought Jermaine.

They left Breadstix and walked to their cars. As Blaine made to walk to his car, Jermaine grabbed Blaine’s arm and pulled him close. He looped his arms around Blaine’s waist, he was slightly taller than Blaine so his curls ticked Jermaine’s nose, he lent in and captured Blaine’s lips. He lazily sucked Blaine’s lower lip nibbling gently, then he traced Blaine’s upper lip with his tongue begging for access, Blaine soon complied. They swirled they tongues around each other tasting every inch of the other boy’s mouth, and then they parted.

“You have no idea how badly I’ve wanted to do that,” breathed Jermaine.

“I- err- wow that was- wow,” spluttered Blaine.

“Oh, wow, I’ve broken my boyfriend,” Jermaine joked.

Yeah, that’s what they were now - boyfriends. The thought of being Jermaine’s was amazing, but part of him still craved Kurt’s heart, he still loved and cared a lot about him.
