Author's Notes: Kurt woke up in an unfamiliar room - it was white and sterile, and there was a small worn arm chair on his right, which was occupied by what looked like a pile of dishevelled coats. He suddenly noticed the tube protruding from his mouth and begun to panic; his gag reflex activating, he begun to choke. The machines on his left that were attached to him by wires and tubes sparked into life beeping, in fact almost caterwauling. Suddenly the pile of coats leapt to life - it was Blaine, and Kurt felt a surge of hatred. Blaine ran from the room and came back with a nurse.

“He’s woken up! He’s choking on the ventilator ... he’ll be okay, right?!” Blaine asked frantically to the nurse.

Blaine had dark circles under his eyes, his hair was unwashed and ungelled, his clothes looked dirty and dishevelled and he was pale and thin. It was obvious he hadn’t slept or eaten in days, and his voice seemed younger than Kurt remembered. It sounded more youthful and not at all like his Blaine, or so he thought.

“He’s going to be fine.” The nurse insisted, turning to Kurt. “Now Mr Hummel, I need you to relax and breathe through your nose while I remove the ventilator.”

Kurt did as he was told, still glaring at Blaine. How dare he be here when he woke up? He cheated ... he had no right to be there. Kurt didn’t even know how or why he was here.

When the nurse had removed the ventilator, she adjusted the clip that was on Kurt’s middle finger - it was attached to a monitor that was beeping, monitoring his heart, Kurt assumed. After that she left, leaving Kurt and Blaine alone. He was still glaring at Blaine.

“I’m so glad you’re okay.” Blaine smiled - even with his obvious sleep deprivation he looked younger than the last time Kurt had seen him.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE, ASSWIPE?!”

“What do you mean?” asked Blaine, sounding confused and slightly hurt.

“What. Are. You. Doing. Here?” He asked again, anger boiling in his stomach.

“I, I got a ph-phone call from L-L-lotti three days ago ... you fainted at work and, and it wa-was cause by a t-tumour.” Blaine said, beginning to sob. “You ... you had to have b-brain surgery and you - you’ve been in a c-coma for three days.”

Kurt looked at Blaine in complete confusion.

“But - but you cheated! We just celebrated our four-year wedding anniversary, but I found out about your affair with Smythe and ... and we’re getting divorced.”

“Baby, we’ve only married a year ... I’d never cheat on you, not ever. We aren’t getting divorced, are we? We can’t - I love you ...”

“But you cheated ...”

“No, I didn’t - I swear it!”

“Yeah right, of course you didn’t.” Kurt growled sarcastically. “I fucking walked in on you - do you not remember? I was going back to Lima and now I’m here ... just get out, Blaine!”

“But baby ... what?! I’ve only ever slept with you ... I love you. Only you.”

“Just get out and leave me alone, Blaine!” He screamed and Blaine’s eyes filled with tears.

“O-o-okay, baby… I’ll come back to check on you later.” Blaine stuttered, feeling like his heart had been ripped from his chest.

“Cry-baby.” Kurt muttered as Blaine left.

Kurt stared at the wall and tried to make sense of things. How did he end up here? Last thing he remembered, or at least thought he did, he was on a plane leaving Blaine behind. Blaine had cheated and they were getting a divorce ... weren’t they?

~~~
Blaine left Kurt’s room, leaned against the wall and sobbed harder. When he'd calmed slightly he whipped out his phone and called Lotti - She’d surely be able to help.
“Lotti?” he sobbed down the phone “Kurt hates me! Can you come explain what happened? He doesn't believe me.”
“He woke up?” she asked.
“Yeah, he ... he made me leave the room. He keeps saying I cheated ... and he thinks we've been married for four years.”
“I’m on my way, Blaine.” She said, happy that Kurt had woken.
When she arrived she hugged Blaine tightly. She noticed that his eyes were red and he was much thinner than she remembered.
“Blaine, it’s okay ... this is normal. Let me talk to him.” she soothed, patting his shoulder. “Kelsey is in the canteen - why don’t you go have a coffee with her while I talk to Kurt?”
“O ... okay” He sobbed and headed to the canteen, and Lotti entered Kurt’s room.
~~~

“Hey ... Kurt?” Lotti said quietly, happy to see him awake again.

“Lotti, hi!” Kurt exclaimed. “Why is Blaine here? Why am I here? What happened?”

“Well, we were at work; you and I were running the office like we always do when Harriet is at a shoot. You were very stressed and you kinda fainted.” She said, standing next to his bedside and taking his hand. “We got you here and they said it was a brain tumour, you went in for surgery and Blaine and I waited. You’ve been in a coma ever since.”

“No, no!” Kurt insisted. “He cheated and I was leaving him … we talked about it.“

“Kurt, no ...” She looked at him imploringly, trying to show him she was telling the truth. “You fainted three days ago … you had a coma-dream. It’ll be the nitrous oxide … Blaine loves you sweetie, and he’s never left this room since you got brought in.”

“Oh…” Kurt said quietly, trying to process everything in his mind. “... and I suppose we haven’t been married four years then?”

“No, you haven’t. Just one so far.”

“And I’ve made him feel shit by yelling at him?” said Kurt, feeling terrible. “And he’s out there crying, thinking I hate him and I want to leave him.”

“Yes, sweetie.” Lotti nodded, and a tear rolled down Kurt's cheek.

“Go get him, please?” he said, sniffing. “Bring him back ... I want my Bee.”

He started to fully break down; he’d been so mean to Blaine. He'd done nothing wrong and Kurt had treated him like shit.

~~~
Meanwhile
Blaine walked into the canteen, scanned the room and ran to Kelsey who already had her arms open wide.
“Oh peanut, what’s wrong?” She asked, hugging him tightly.
“He ... he yelled at me. He thinks I cheated on him with Sebastian … I didn’t - I wouldn’t! Kurt’s the only one for me.”
“I know, peanut ... I know.” Kelsey cooed into his hair. “Sometimes coma victims can have vivid dreams - ones that seem real. It'll be okay. It’s the nitrous or something. He’ll see that it was just a dream. It will be okay, Blaine.”
He sniffed and nodded into her shoulder and then they sat and drank coffee. Blaine gushed about Kurt and how glad he was that Kurt had woken, even if he hated him. Kelsey was telling Blaine about how Darren, the mail man, had finally asked her out on a date.
“Thank fuck for that … you two were really starting to get on my nerves with your dancing around each other.” Blaine chuckled.
“We weren’t dancing around each other, Blaine.” she replied indignantly.
“The hell you weren’t. I’ve sat through three months of the two of you mooning over one other and asking me questions … so has he taken you out yet?”
“We’re going out tonight.”
“Ooohh, great! Where’s he taking you?”
“He’s taking me to th-” Kelsey began, but she was interrupted by Lotti arriving and beaming at Blaine.
“Blaine?” She smiled. “He's asking for you …”
“He is?”
“Yeah he is, Blaine … he says he wants his Bee.”
“Uh ... okay.” Blaine said, a little stunned but smiling. He looked to Kelsey.
“Go … I’ll tell you more later.” She shooed him away as Blaine turned and practically ran upstairs to Kurt’s room.
Blaine was so relieved that Kurt had remembered ... that he did believe him. He just wanted to hold Kurt … to be held by Kurt, to tell him he loved him and hear him say it back. And most of all he wanted to kiss Kurt and never stop. These past three days had been so hard … Blaine had missed him so much it hurt. He knew that Kurt was there but he wasn’t there. Kurt looked so broken lying there hooked up to all those machines, and he'd been so scared he was going to lose Kurt for good.
"Bee?" Kurt smiled as Blaine entered his room.
“Kur?” said Blaine.
“I’m so sorry, Blaine.” Kurt sighed, looking down. “I know you’d never cheat on me. It just seemed so real … so very real and, and … oh Bee, it was horrible!”
“I’d never cheat on you ... you are my everything and my world.” Blaine nodded, his eyes tearing up.
Kurt shuffled to the other side of the hospital bed and patted the space beside him. He wanted to hold Blaine close, and kiss him to truly make him feel better. He’d really been mean to him when he woke up. Blaine walked over and lay next to Kurt, wrapping his arms around Blaine as best he could with all the wires and tubes.
“I know Bee, I know.” He breathed as he kissed Blaine's temple. “So ... catch me up on what I've missed?”
“Alright, but first ...” Blaine turned his head and pressed his lips to Kurt's softly, sucking on his lower lip and nibbling it a little - how he’d missed how Kurt's lips tasted. Kurt returned the kiss slowly, whimpering slightly.
“Well, I most definitely missed that.” He laughed when they parted.
Blaine's lips curved into a smile and Kurt pressed his lips to Blaine's in another sweet, chaste kiss.
“Well, Nick and Jeff are engaged -“
“They are?!” Kurt interrupted. “When ... how?!”
“Last night, they kinda both did at the same time. You know how they are.” Blaine shrugged, and Kurt just grinned. Blaine was smiling too, for the first time in three days.
“How? How did they do it?”
“Well, “ Blaine began. “Nick took Jeff out for dinner and he’d hidden the ring in his wine glass and Jeff hid Nick’s in the cake.”
“Woah, that’s weird … that actually happened in my dream.” Kurt mused. “We said that they were so in sync that they would probably ask each other at the same time.”
Blaine laughed. “Yeah” his voice was distant as his mind flashed back to when he proposed to Kurt almost three years ago to the date now. It had taken Kurt and Blaine a long time to plan the wedding, though - it had to be perfect.
“What else have I missed?”
“Not much else really, baby” Blaine smiled fondly.
