I want to give kudos to Emmazippy577 for predicting how this chapter was going to go! Honestly, this is where I planned on taking this story since I started writing it so good job to you and anyone else who predicted this! Ill update soon :)
I have been thinking about a tumblr for my fanfiction but I dont want to start it unless I know I have a few people to back me up so if you would please comment if you would like to see a blog for my fanfiction. Im open for other stuff to do on there but I think this would be a good way to let people know when my fanfiction has been updated.
Blaine took his seat just as the house lights began to dim. Madame Arthur walked gracefully out on stage with a microphone in her hand.
"Good evening everyone. Its so lovely to see you all. These kids have worked so over the summer this night and pleased on their progress. Im so lucky to be working with such talented kids. Tonight we open our little recital with my pre-k group as they do a dance to a French classic: Alouette, Gentille Alouette."
The audience let out a roaring applause as Madame Arthur walked off stage then the curtain opened, exposing a line of young girls between the ages of three to five dressed in matching blue tutus and leotards.
One by one each group (a little older than the last) performed for the audience with their little dances and matching clothing until finally the last group, Kurt and Blaines group, took stage. Madame Arthur introduced her oldest group and the song they were doing then pre-wished everyone a good night and a safe trip home before exiting back stage. The dancers were lined up on stage dressed in all black. The men wore leggings and long shirts while the women wore a traditional flat tutu and leotard with white tights.
Blaine thought everyone in his group were stunning. He found Kurt in his spot and smiled slightly. He was excited to start training with this boy again. Blaine loved spending time with Kurt and was just as anxious as Madame Arthur was to dig into Kurts mind and figure out whats been going on with him.
The music began playing and everyone began dancing along exactly as Blaine remembered. Arms in first position, in and back out, look up, straighten knees, arms in second but hands wilted, right foot goes in while arms move to fourth...
The dance continued perfectly, everyone was on time and hitting their cues exactly. Blaine thought Kurt was the best, he was a prodigy after all.
They dancers had made it through half of their performance when, after a quick spin, Kurt collapsed on to the floor. No doubt, he passed out. Madame Arthur hurriedly cut the music and closed the curtain before announcing over the microphone that they were going to take a "short intermission."
Blaine felt his heart completely stop as he and the two people next to him stood.
"That was Kurt!" The man yelled-whispered to the woman as the shuffled out of the row and ran out an emergency exit door that led just out into the hall of the school. Blaine followed closely behind, suddenly he wasnt feeling well again.
The three ran out and found Madame Arthur in front of the main entrance frantically pacing back and forth.
"Blaine!" She announced when seeing her pupil then looked to the two concerned adults Blaine was beginning to assume were Kurts parents, "Oh, you must be Mister and Misses Hummel." She greeted warmly.
"Where is he? Is he okay?" The man asked worriedly.
"We dragged him off the stage. Hes currently in the cafeteria, I have the oldest member of his group tending to him. I called 9-1-1, and now Im waiting here for an ambulance." Madame Arthur gave a look over to Blaine, "This is Blaine, a friend of Kurts."
The pair each shook Blaines hand and greeted him and introduced themselves as Burt, Kurts father, and Carole, Kurts step-mom before returning to their state of shock over their son.
"Hes mentioned you a couple times." Carole said through their handshake.
"I knew I should have better kept up with him and seek help when I noticed the problems!" Burt was beating himself up already.
Carole tried comforting him by rubbing circles around his back and speaking in a soothing tone, "Its not your fault. Its nobodys fault. Something happened and we couldnt stop it in time..."
"Blaine here, I actually did recruit to try and help Kurt." Madame Arthur chimed in, "Theyve worked so well together when Kurt was tutoring him and I thought he would be the perfect choice. We were just as concerned as you were." Burt and Caroles attention turned back to Blaine for a brief second.
"You two have noticed signs too?" Burt asked, dumbfounded.
"One day he just kind of stopped speaking. If we know Kurt, he was one of the most outgoing kids in the class, that silence was not like him. I guess he was just growing too weak..." Madame Arthur trailed off.
"I-I-I dont know what to say..." Burt stuttered, "Thank you Blaine and Misses-"
"Madame." Blaine corrected him.
"Please, you two, just call me Dorris." Madame Arthur corrected Blaine, "And you can call me by my first name outside of classes too, Blaine. Ive only granted that permission to one other person, Kurt."
Blaine slid down the wall, he almost felt ready to puke then the sirens began to wail and soon after, the group saw the lights appear in the parking lot. Finally, some help had arrived.
