"Thanks, Carole. I can't thank you enough." Kurt muttered what was probably a billion little 'thank yous' to Carole as he let go of her. It's not that he wanted to but he had an important phone call to make. She placed a gentle kiss on his forehead, replying with a sweet "Don't mention it" before retreating back into the kitchen.

Kurt didn't immediately go back to his room. Instead, he walked back into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. Before he made his way back down to his room, he thought it'd be smart to grab some toilet paper and wipe his swollen red eyes. Doing so, he made sure to ignore his reflection in the mirror. Feeling as wrung out and horrible as he did, he knew he could only look a billion times worse than he could speculate.

He turned to throw his tear stained tissues in the trash and walked out of the bathroom. Kurt didn't pay any mind to his father when he passed through the kitchen. To say Kurt was pissed at Burt would be the understatement of the century right about now. Yes, he came home late but it's not like it was an every night occurrence. It happened once in a blue moon, rarely. Why was his dad punishing him now? Kurt felt his blood begin to boil as his father's words replayed themselves in his head. One week…so, warbler practice, and home. Kurt wasn't going to let this go, not by a long shot.

As he reached his bedroom, his mind started wandering off in another direction. He had to call Blaine and inform him about the change of plans for tomorrow night. That was if there still was a tomorrow night. "Oh dear God, no." Pessimistic thoughts piled up in his head at that moment. What if he gets mad? He might cancel. Then I'll really never have a chance. No! Please.

Kurt wrapped his long, pale arm around his waist, clutching at his stomach as he walked over to his bed. This time he felt truly sick. Whether or not it was because of his hangover or the thought of Blaine cancelling their date was beside the point. His thoughts were eating away at him like termites gnawing through a piece of wood.

He couldn't stand it anymore, so he grabbed his cell phone off his dresser. Inhaling deep, he dialed Blaine's number and pressed his phone to his ear. Maybe Blaine will reschedule? I can only hope or maybe he won't even answer at all?Kurt paced slowly around his room, listening to the dial tone ring away. "Hey, Kurt."

Like usual, Kurt was already biting on his thumb nail, feeling as nervous as ever. "Blaine?" He sounded uneasy and Blaine instantly knew something was wrong by the tone of his voice. This was one of the many upsides of their friendship, knowing something is wrong before even knowing exactly what it is.

"What happened? Who do I have to kill?" Kurt loved when Blaine decided to show his defensive side. He smiled, as an image of Blaine throwing a punch at his dad crossed his mind. Right now, Kurt wouldn't particularly mind knocking some sense into an unfair Burt Hummel. The image was too ridiculous not to laugh at, so he did. "My father."

Blaine paused, confused from Kurt's words. "Your father?" This was it, it was go time. Kurt stopped pacing around his room and sat on the edge of his bed. "I'm grounded. I'm…" Kurt huffed into the phone just then. "…not allowed out." It took a second for Blaine to realize what Kurt had meant. Grounded. "Oh. Your father has the absolute worst timing ever."

Kurt heard how disappointed and defeated Blaine sounded. As upset as he was, he smiled a bit because Blaine cared. He was looking forward to the date just as much as Kurt was. Nobody said anything for a while and Kurt knew this wasn't a good sign. Was Blaine cancelling the date? No.Kurt wasn't going to let this happen, so he said anything. "The awkward moment when your father grounds you and ruins any chance of possibly having one of the best dates of your life with your best friend."

Kurt leaned back on his bed, his legs hanging off the side. "One of the best dates of your life? That doesn't add any pressure or anything. No, not at all." A sarcastic Blaine laughed lightly into the phone. "So you're not cancelling?" Dreading to actually ask the question, Kurt knew he had to ultimately. "I'm not going to let your father cock block me."

"Cock block, Blaine, really? Way not sound sexual." Kurt rolled over on his stomach, felling a bit better about this conversation. Kurt over thank things way too often he deserved a crown and a sash. "Oh…no, that didn't sound right… I meant cock block our date." Blaine was frazzled and Kurt was sure that he was blushing on the other side of the phone.

"Calm down, I know what you meant. But yeah, I think we could work something out for tomorrow." Kurt was hopeful all of a sudden. He'd tell Blaine what Carole did and everything would work out, right? "What do you have in mind?" Blaine paid attention closely, waiting on Kurt's idea.

"Carole lied for me, saying I'd run errands with her tomorrow right after school. Obviously we'd have to move up the time and all and we'd only have an hour and a half tops but…" Kurt was about to finish his sentence when Blaine interrupted him. "It changes plans but I think I've got this." Kurt let out a huge sigh of relief. "I thought you were going to cancel on me." He wanted to smack himself for ever doubting Blaine in the first place.

"The only thing that can stop me from taking you out on a proper date tomorrow is if my plane decides to crash." Kurt thought Blaine meant this as a joke, which he did sort of but he really wasn't going to miss out on this date. "You have a way with words, you know that, Anderson?"

Laughing in unison, Blaine and Kurt continued talking on the phone for a couple more minutes, specifying the details for tomorrow. Blaine would text Kurt the moment he landed to let him know he was alive and well. They decided that Blaine would meet Kurt at the market where he would meet Carole. It would be easier to touch base with Carole before he left with Blaine. After a while they said their goodbyes and hung up. Tomorrow was going to happen and not even Burt was going to stop it.

Sunday proceeded slower than Kurt liked but when he awoke Monday morning he couldn't help but to smile ecstatically. He knew nothing could bring him down. Nothing or no one would faze him today because he felt on top of the world. He dressed for school, slipping on his Dalton uniform and checking himself out in the mirror. Looking perfect for Blaine was his top priority today. Even if he had to work with his dull and boring uniform, he was going to make sure he looked his finest. He took an extra 15 minutes styling his hair for the occasion, making sure every strand of his hair was in its correct spot.

Once he was ready he grabbed his belongings for school, his car keys and headed upstairs. Again, no one was going to ruin today so Kurt pushed aside his feelings and ate his breakfast quietly across from his father. Before he left for school, Carole mentioned she would call him right after school to let him know where they'd meet. Carole of course said this in front of Burt, to let it be known of Kurt would be helping her like she had told him. Burt didn't seem to notice anything fishy about it so he paid no mind to their little conversation but reminded Kurt he was to be home with Carole straight after. Giving her a quick wink over to Carole, Kurt nodded and ventured off to Dalton.

During school he wanted to burst out into song, and if it was any other day he could. However it was Monday and the Warbler's didn't have practice today. It didn't bother him not having practice. He had something else to do after school, something more important. It was difficult for Kurt to keep his excitement to himself during the school day. Once Blaine texted Kurt saying he landed safely, Kurt was as anxious as ever.

Fellow Warblers in a few of his classes noticed the sudden happiness and perkiness in Kurt. They became curious and asked but Kurt denied any kind of uplifted spirit. They didn't need to know what Kurt had planned with Blaine after school. Those Warblers were worse than Santana with gossip. If one Warbler found out, it would only be minutes until the whole club knew. As his last class of the day rolled around, a text message from Blaine popped up in his inbox. "Can't wait for later -Blaine."Kurt read the message and smiled to himself. If Blaine only knew how Kurt was dying to get out of class and meet him at the market.

Finally 3:00 o'clock came and Kurt bolted out of his class faster than a speeding bullet. He was sure he definitely bumped into some students as he rushed to his locker, putting away and taking books out he needed. He made sure to peak into the magnetic mirror that hung in his locker, checking his reflection, before he walked to his car. He inhaled deeply, smiling and shut his locker. He was about to go on his first date, with his best friend nonetheless. Everything he waited for was just a drive away. With a quick, almost power walk speed, his turned the corner.

Before he left school, he thought he should text Blaine and let him know he was on route to the market. Reaching into his pocket, he took out his phone and exited Dalton. What Kurt saw next was nothing he expected. As he reached his shiny black Cadillac Escalade he stopped dead in his tracks, his jaw almost falling to the floor. Who none other than Blaine Anderson stood in front of it, smiling and holding out two coffee cups. Blaine looked as gorgeous as ever. He was wearing a pasty blue button up that Kurt knew he'd seen in his latest Burberry catalog, along with black skin tight Dolce and Gabanna jeans that hugged his hips in a way that made Kurt look away for a second. Oh sweet Prada, this boy will be the death of me.

Kurt sucked at his bottom lip in an attempt to hide the huge smile that was plastered on his face and made his way over to stand in front of Blaine. "I believe this is for you." This wasn't the first time Blaine had bought Kurt coffee but it was the first time it meant something more. Blaine held out the grande nonfat mocha late towards him. Kurt took the coffee, still in utter shock. "I believe I was supposed to meet you at the market." Blaine's mouth formed a small o as he took a step backwards away from Kurt. He eyes were one of a lost puppy dog, stricken with sadness. "Oh, was this a bad idea? I knew I shou…" Kurt noticed the sadness in Blaine's eyes then and grabbed him by his hand, pulling him back towards him. Not letting him finish his sentence, Kurt interjected. "Calm down, I'm just surprised that's all. I wasn't expecting you to randomly show up here with coffee."

Blaine's eyes traveled down to their intertwined hands, Kurt's eyes following soon after. It's not like this was the first time they held hands. Please, the moment they met Blaine took Kurt's hand and whisked him away. But this time, Kurt was the one to connect their hands and Blaine liked that a lot. With his head still down, looking at their hands, Kurt pressed his lips to Blaine's cheek gently. "That was very sweet of you, Blaine. Thanks." When Blaine looked up, Kurt was left in shock once again. A light shade of pink was spread across Blaine's cheeks, he was blushing. Kurt couldn't believe that Blaine was actually blushing because of him. He looked so adorable he wanted to crush him into a bear hug and keep him forever, of course if Blaine let him.

"So, I thought we could drive over to the market together. I mean obviously not together but I could follow you." Blaine let out a cute little shaken sigh, shrugging over at Kurt for acceptance. "Sounds like a good idea to me." Kurt rubbed his thumb smoothly over the side of Blaine's index finger before he unlocked their hands and got into his car. Settling in the driver's seat, he took a sip of his nonfat mocha late. Taking a sip out of his coffee, he smelt something funny. What he smelt was sharpie. When he lowered the cup from his mouth he noticed something scribbled on top the cap. "A little something for my little something 3 -Blaine, xox."

Kurt read Blaine's endearing inscription over again. "No freaking way. This boy." He couldn't begin to fathom how sweet it was of Blaine to write him a little note. Shaking his smile off his face, he buckled himself in and drove his way to the market, Blaine following short behind. Kurt turned on the radio and about every single happy love song he could think of came on one after another. It was funny when that happened. Music usually has that ironic way of playing either really super depressing songs when you were upset or really awesome upbeat songs when you were happy.

Every now and then Kurt would peak at his rearview mirror and see Blaine completely lost in the song he was singing. Kurt always adored Blaine when he was in his performance mentality. Blaine was a true performer and that was something Kurt always admired about him. It was the first side of Blaine Kurt ever got to see. Still to this day he would daydream about his spying escapade at Dalton and meeting Blaine on the staircase. The way Blaine spun around to talk to Kurt was something out of a movie. It was like time had slowed down and the heavens opened up with a singing holy choir. Blaine was and still is breathtaking to Kurt. Sometimes it was hard for Kurt to get a word out because Blaine's beauty left him speechless.

Arriving to the market, Kurt let out a comfortable sigh. Luckily he spotted two available parking spaces directly next to each other. Pulling into one spot, Kurt looked over to Blaine who was already in park and smiling at him through his window. Blaine got out of his car and walked over in between both cars and opened Kurt's driver's side door. Kurt laughed, climbing out of his Escalade. "What a gentlemen." Blaine closed Kurt's door behind him and held out his arm for Kurt to take. "Have you known me to be anything but?" Kurt wanted to grab his arm and never let go, but he gently slipped his arm under his instead. The boys made their way into the market as Kurt grabbed his phone out of his pocket to call Carole.

What he didn't see was the three missed calls from Carole. "Oh no." She probably called while Kurt was driving and his radio was blasting. As they walked into the market arm and arm, Kurt called Carole in a hurry. Not quite sure what was going on, Blaine looked over at Kurt worried. Maybe something happened with his father? He knew Burt was previously sick and maybe he relapsed. Aimlessly he turned right to walk down Aisle 5 when he heard a familiar ringtone that had to be Carole's. Before proceeding down the aisle, Kurt stopped dead in his tracks for the second time in a row today. Their backs were turned but there stood Carole and Burt, backs to Kurt and Blaine.

Right then and there both boys were glad they were walking with linked arms because Blaine really swung them around. Quickly catching on, they both bolted to Aisle 9. Reaching their destined aisle, they unlocked their arms, stopping in the middle of the aisle and looked at one another frantically. Blaine let out a low whining groan. "Ugh, literally the worst timing ever." Kurt slumped against a pile of heavy duty toilet paper with a sad expression. All he wanted was one measly little date with the boy he'd been crushing over for weeks now.

Kurt began to play with his fingers and looked down at the floor. "I knew it was too good to be true." When he thought everything was going smoothly, his dad had to come along and ruin it. He was defeated and he sounded it too. Blaine moved forward, standing directly in front of Kurt. Slowly he placed his hands on both sides of Kurt's face, cupping it and lifting his head to meet his gaze. Kurt looked deep into Blaine's eyes that were now serious. "Next week, when you're off grounding, I'm going to take you out on a proper date like I originally planned, okay?"

Kurt heard his heart rate slow down. Normally his heart would be pounding like crazy, but with Blaine's hands cupping his face like that, he felt like he was melting away. It took him a minute to process what Blaine said. Wait, he still wants a real date?Kurt thought to himself as his bit down on his bottom lip. "You still want to go through with this?" With that, Blaine brought his lips to Kurt's forehead and placed a sweet chaste kiss to it. "Of course I do."

Blaine lowered his hands from Kurt's face, noticing the taller brunette was blushing. "I told you I wasn't going to let your father cock block our date. It's just postponed for right now." Kurt rolled his eyes and gave Blaine a soft punch on his right arm. Blaine always had a way with words but sometimes Kurt forgot Blaine was just another teenage boy. "I'll text you when I get out of here."

Kurt leaned forward off of the pile of heavy duty toilet paper, trying to give off a hopeful smile. "If my arm doesn't fall off by then, I'll try to respond." Dramatically Blaine rubbed at the spot where Kurt punched him in the arm. "And I thought I was the drama queen!" Blaine removed his hand from his arm to pull Kurt in for a goodbye hug. They stood there in the middle of the aisle, the hug lingering for a few seconds before they pulled away smiling. Each boy went off in their separate ways, Blaine walking towards the market door and Kurt walking back to Aisle 1.
