However he didn't remember how he got to this point. All he remembered was being invited to a party at Rachel's with the rest of the New Directions, arriving to the party, and gulping down cup after cup of punch.
By now he realized someone, most likely Santana, had spiked the punch and if he'd remember in the morning, he'd give Santana a piece of his mind. But at the moment, Kurt didn't have the ability of really anything but lying on Rachel's bed.
Again, he didn't remember how he got there. Probably one of the guys, Finn, brought him up there because he wasn't capable of making any good decisions. Yes, Kurt definitely wasn't capable of making any coherent decisions when he pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Blaine's number.
"Blaineeeee! Answer your phone!" The monotone ring kept repeating itself for what seemed like forever to Kurt until Blaine picked up on the 7th ring. "Kurt, its a quarter after 1." A huge smile spread across Kurt's face. He wasn't aware of the time but he didn't care at the moment. Blaine's voice sounded even more beautiful than it normally did but that was probably because Kurt was inebriated. "What's going on?"
Kurt gasped in excitement after realizing Blaine picked up. "Baineybear!" Blaine couldn't help to laugh at this pet name Kurt had given him without his knowledge. He didn't mind the name because it sounded cute coming from Kurt's mouth. "Blaineybear? Never heard that one."
"Where are you?" Kurt's tone of voice changed from excited to sad within a nanosecond. Blaine could tell he was pouting over the phone. "Why are you not here? I miss you."
A confused Blaine pay much attention to the last part of what Kurt had just said. "You know I'm…" Blaine didn't get the chance to finish his sentence because Kurt started to whine over him. "I'm lying down all alone and I want you next to me." Kurt turned on his side, pulling his knees to his chest in an attempt to ball himself up but he ultimately failed. His balance was way off right now.
Blaine was taken a bit back by Kurt. Where was all this coming from? It took him a minute to realize that something was obviously off. Hesitantly, Blaine knew he had to ask. "Kurt, are you drunk?"
"Are you coming here? I don't like you being so far away." Blaine instantly knew that Kurt was indeed drunk off his ass. He didn't know how to handle this situation. Blaine scratched at his forehead trying to think quickly. He had never been drunk dialed before and he knew he had to be careful about what he was saying.
Blaine was torn though. In all honesty, he liked what he was hearing. After all, he knew drinking sometimes helped bring the truth out in people and in this case he guessed it applied to Kurt.
"You know I'm nowhere near Ohio right now." This was true. Blaine had gone to visit his grandparents in Maine with his family for the weekend.
"And that's the problem! I just want you here with me. I need someone to lie down with." Kurt looked over at the pillow beside him and envisioned Blaine next to him. "I'll try not to kiss you. I can't promise it though."
Blaine smiled at Kurt's words. Is this what Kurt really wanted? Kurt would've never in a million years said this to Blaine, yet alone while he was sober. Blaine knew if Kurt remembered this call he'd regret it in the morning, which he most definitely would.
"Maybe when I get back next week, when you're not drunk off your ass, I'll take you up on your offer." He heard Kurt gasp over the phone. "That is not fair! You won't! You don't even… like me." Kurt struggled to get that last sentence out. His heart plummeted into his stomach. Kurt rolled onto his stomach and buried his face into the pillow he rested his head on.
Blaine heard the sadness in Kurt's voice. Kurt sounded broken and Blaine knew wanted to fix that. Even if Kurt wouldn't remember this conversation, he didn't like Kurt being sad.
"On the contrary Kurt, I like you a whole lot." Blaine became shy and his stomach filled with butterflies. He certainly didn't think this is how he'd confess his feelings to Kurt. The scenario Blaine had imagined wasn't anything close to this actually.
"No! You like stupid GAP Jeramiah." It sounded like Kurt was on the verge of crying, which he was. The emotional rollercoaster the alcohol had led him on was at its last stop, which was complete and utter heartbreak. "And it's not fair! After you sang to him and then he just rejects you? He's so stupid! I would never do that."
Blaine felt guilty in an instant once Kurt brought up Jeramiah. Why did Kurt have to bring him up? He wasn't fully recovered from his embarrassing performance at the GAP. Before Blaine could speak, Kurt was rambling on once again. This time, his words were slowed down and rung out.
"You're so pretty and sweet and you sing nice and you're gorgeous…" Blaine's mind was going a hundred miles a minute. Maybe he should just forget that this was happening? He could easily avoid this conversation if Kurt asked him about it in the morning. After a minute or two of Kurt repeating the same words over and over again, "…and gorgeous," Blaine didn't realize Kurt stopped talking.
"Kurt? Are you still there?" Blaine pressed his phone to his ear in an attempt to listen closely for any signs of life when he heard snoring. Kurt had fallen asleep at some point and thank god. "Sweet dreams Kurt. Blaine smiled to himself and hung up his phone, hoping Kurt would forget all about this in the morning.
