Author's Notes: Rated PG-13-ish? Kurt and Blaine being Kurt and Blaine, but behind closed doors....and one well-timed use of the word "ass."The song in question is "Ellie My Love" by Rockapella. If you can find the album version anywhere, take a listen -- the version available on youtube is just not the same (also is half in Japanese, but that's another story for another time...)

October, 2012
One day, a package arrived for Kurt. Inside was a CD and a note from Blaine -- "I know how good it feels to get real mail. I made the CD just for you. I love you ~B."

The CD was entitled "Longing. For Sleep". Kurt pressed "play" on his stereo and lay back on his bed.

The opening was so distinctive he remembered exactly where he was when he'd first heard it. He'd been in his bedroom, finishing up a History essay. He spun in his desk chair when his door crashed open and Blaine ran in.

"Kurt! Kuuuuurt!" Blaine bounced on his knees on Kurt's bed in excitement. 'You've got to hear this! You've got to -- the Warblers -- here!" He shoved a CD at Kurt. "Track eleven!"

Kurt frowned at the jewel case. "Blaine, this looks ancient. Where did you get this?" He put the CD in his player anyway.

"One of Coop's friends lent it to me when he heard I was in the Warblers. Thought I could use some "real a capella", in his words. It's Rockapella. ELEVEN, Kurt!"

"I'm going to arrange it for us -- you'll sing lead, it's perfect for you -- we'll get Trent on that high -- " He babbled as Kurt cued up the CD "-- there's two vp tracks so Jon's going to need some help -- shh, just listen," he interrupted himself as the song began.

The first sound, a deep -- very deep, guttural rasp -- part exhale, part moan -- followed by short percussive gasps. It sounded..... downright sexy.

Then a sweet tenor came in, passionate and full, singing over the repeated percussion.

There were times I left your heart, in vain,
times I turned and walked away,
I'd get to where I'm going just find
won't be happy in this world
if you're not by my side.
Ellie my love, so sweet

The second verse started, the rest of the voices came in -- oooo-wah ooo -- over that persistent percussion.

The rest of Blaine's body had calmed, but his eyes still sparkled as he stood and walked to Kurt. He held out his hands to him, pulling him up from his chair and wrapping him in his arms -- holding Kurt's waist tightly to his own -- head held back so he look into Kurt's eyes while he sang

Smile for me, won't you, baby?
Forever you'll be on my mind
Stay with me, won't you, baby?
We're gonna make it right this time
There's no one else like you --
Anything you want to do --
Ellie my love, so sweet.

They slowly revolved, keeping in time with the sensual beat, Blaine singing the tender lyrics -- sometimes into the skin of Kurt's neck, sometimes pulling back to look at Kurt's gently smiling face, sometimes just breathing them into his lips.

The song built and built, cresting into a wailing chorus, then quieting, the background voices dropping away, leaving only the solo and the percussion. As the song ended, they continued to dance, slowly turning in place, bodies crushed together. Kurt's hands lazed over the back of Blaine's neck, eyes drowzy and full of promise.

Kurt reached out a languid hand and pressed the repeat button. "You take the baritone line. I'll work out the second tenor."

They sang the song through several times, each singing a different part, finding how the harmonies fit together, still dancing wrapped in each other's arms.

"What is this, a samba?" Kurt asked

Blaine, one eye screwed shut in concentration, stopped humming long enough to say "Rhumba", then returned to his line.

"You know the difference between a samba and a rhumba?"

Blaine nodded absently, "Cotillion," and continued humming.

"Cotillion, of course," Kurt murmured, filing that away to ask later.

As they waited for the song to restart, Blaine started "I think the lead lays perfectly for your voice."

Kurt smiled but shook his head. "Trent should get lead -- some of those notes are a little low for me -- but anyway, he just should get it. He deserves it. Besides, I want the 1st tenor line -- the counter melody in the chorus is exquisite."

Blaine nodded, "I guess I'll take the baritone --"

"No," Kurt interrupted "You take that initial percussion line"

"Nah, Jon can handle it - besides, it's too low for me" Blaine's forays into vocal percussion were numerous -- busting into it whenever he heard a song with a good beat -- "Kurt, listen! Jon showed me a new way to do snare! Kuuuuuurt!"

"No, it's not too low," Kurt smiled mysteriously. "I've heard you do almost that exact line."

"What?"

"Mmm hmm," Kurt murmured. He dropped his hands to Blaine's hips, pressing their lower halves together as Kurt rolled his hips sharply against Blaine's.

"Mmmmmm" Blaine moaned deep in his chest.

"See? There you go. Now let's see if we can find the rest of it for you." Kurt's voice was soft as he took the lead, moving a bit faster, grinding his hips against Blaine's.

Blaine exhaled slowly.

"No, baby, he's inhaling through his nose first, THEN on the second beat it's the exhale."

"God, I love it when you talk music to me," Blaine waggled his eyebrows at him, "even if you are a tease."

"Tease? Moi? Honestly, Blaine, does everything have to be about sex?" Kurt raised an eyebrow while simultaneously grabbing Blaine's ass firmly in both hands. "I am a virtuous young man, virtuously helping my fellow Warbler virtuously practice for our next stunning vocal display."

"Virtuous?"

"Virtuous," Kurt said firmly. "You're supposed to be practicing your part, young man."

Kurt found the rhythm -- step, step, step-step-step and turned them in place, rolling his hips in time as Blaine practiced his line -- a deep grind for the moan, lighter brushing for the gasps.

"There you go, baby," Kurt whispered. "That's it."

Blaine dropped his head back, face to the ceiling, eyes closed. Kurt sucked at his Adam's apple.

"We should arrange all our songs this way," Blaine observed breathlessly. "......And practice them this way, too."

Kurt took his mouth away from Blaine's ear to laugh. "I think the other Warblers might have some objections to that."

****
The Warblers loved the song, loved the arrangement, were surprised when Blaine declined lead, declined any singing part.Their front man was content to stand off to the side, body moving only slightly to keep time. His eyes were tightly closed the entire song, repeating the same measure over and over and over again.

Kurt, singing his counter melody, couldn't stop watching him. He knew what Blaine was picturing behind those heartbreaking eyelashes.
