"Kurt!" Carole snaps, "You forgot the eggs! Again!"

"Well, I'm not going out again. Get Finn to get them."

"Please Kurt! Please!" Carole drawls, giving Kurt her best puppy-dog eyes.

"Kurt, do what your step-mom says." Burt Hummel gruffly says, coming into the kitchen and wiping his car-greased hands on a clean cloth. Kurt winces as the long streaks of black wipe across the white, delicate fabric.

Carole gives Kurt her 'See? Now you have to go the shops' look and Kurt rolls his eyes, slumping from the barstool; picking up his bag and wallet.

"I hate you." He laughs as he walks out the kitchen and eventually out the house.

Blaine Anderson stares at the looming hill that stands before him for the fifth time, with frustration and annoyance in his eyes. Why can't he make the climb? He's made it thousands beyond thousands of times before. This puzzles the boy. Can it be his wheelchair? Is it broken? Or maybe it is his arms? Is he getting weaker by pushing himself along with all that strength? Why does this hill feel like Everest all of a sudden? Blaine brushes his thoughts away. He needs to get home – he can't do this on his own though. His loyal wheelchair seems to finally be taking its toll and he needs assistance.

Just his luck! A boy walks past him, whistling to himself. The boy has incredibly pale skin and perfectly coiffed hair but his dark sunglasses shield his eyes – causing Blaine to be unsure if he is a good or bad guy. Taking a look at his clothing, he figures he is good.

"Uhm...excuse me?" Blaine quivers, immediately making the boy stop.

"Yes?" The boy asks, taking off his sunglasses and revealing his beautiful glasz eyes. "Can I help you?"

"I...I was wondering if you could help me up the hill. My house is up there, I would do it myself but my wheelchair is bust...I'm not really sure why," Blaine laughs, "Would you?"

"Oh, sure," The boy smiles, taking hold of the chair handles, "We'll go slow okay?"

Blaine breathes a thank you and they are off, taking slower than a snail winning a snail race.

"How are you going?" The boy asks as they manage to make it halfway.

"I'm hanging in there." Blaine smiles.

"I, I never got your name..." Kurt laughs.

"Oh, sorry, I'm Blaine. Blaine Anderson."

"Kurt. Kurt Hummel." Kurt replies, rubbing Blaine's shoulder as a form of hello.

"You can stop here," Blaine says, as they slowly come to a stop outside an auburn brick house, complete with blue shutters and a burgundy door. "My house." Blaine beams.

"It's very beautiful." Kurt gasps.

"Thanks Kurt."

"No worries, I'm sorry but I have to get going. I was supposed to be going to the shop to get eggs but I somehow got sidetracked."

Blaine laughs, "Okay, well, thank you Kurt."

"Will you be alright, I mean, do you need anymore help?"

"I'll be fine, my Mom should be in by now anyway." Blaine informs.

"I'll see you soon?" Kurt asks, hopefully.

"Of course, thanks again."

"Anytime Blaine."

"Eggs. Eggs. Eggs." Kurt repeats to himself over and over, "I can't forget the eggs. Fuck! Free range or organic? Which ones does she want?" He hisses, whipping out his phone and dialling Carole's number.

"Kurt?" Carole's voice crackles through his phone.

"Carole? Yeah, hi, what eggs do you want? Free range or organic?" Kurt asks.

"Organic honey! How long does it take to get eggs anyways?"

"I...got sidetracked." Kurt mumbles. This causes Carole to laugh and eventually end the phone call. Kurt pickes up the organic egg carton and places them carefully in the bag.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Blaine's door rattles as if someone is trying to break in.

"Hello?" A woman asks as she opens the door. The woman has dark brown hair and chestnut eyes. She stares, puzzled at the boy before her.

"Uhm, hello. Does Blaine Anderson live here? I'm...I'm a friend."

"Oh! Blaine!" The woman calls into the house, "You've a visitor."

"What? Oh..." Blaine says, wheeling into the hallway and seeing a rather shy Kurt, shuffling from one foot to the other, "Hello Kurt." Blaine warmly grins.

"Hey Blaine."

"...Is there something you wanted?"

"Not really, I..." Kurt starts, "Would it be okay if I came in?" He asks looking to Blaine's mother and him.

"Oh sure, sorry for not inviting you in sooner. I'm Elle, Blaine's mother." Elle introduces herself, shaking Kurt's hand as he's walking in.

"Kurt." Kurt replies before Blaine leads him to his room.

"So, Kurt, why are you here?" Blaine grins again slightly, easing himself out of his wheelchair and onto his low bed.

"You just look...like a coffee guy and I...bought you some coffee from The Lima Bean, because I figured we were, you know, friends now and...and..."

'Why are you getting so flustered? Kurt, pull yourself together man! Yes, Blaine is cute, with his eyes and his lips and just, damn...his face. But, Kurt, that is no reason to act like this.' Kurt's conscience chided.

"Would you like to drink coffee Kurt?" Blaine laughs.

Kurt shyly nods, shaking his conscience away.

Blaine shakes his head admirably, "Why?"

"I don't know actually, probably a spur of the moment type thing, you know?" Kurt asks.

"Yep, I know about those."

In the corner of Kurt's eye, he notices a photograph. It is of a little boy with wild curly hair and hazel brown eyes.

"Who is that?" Kurt asks, nodding to the picture. The little boy wore a smile. At first it looks like an average, everyday smile but when Kurt gets closer, it is as if the boy's smile sweetens the very air in Kurt's lungs.

"It's you?" Kurt asks, noticing the instant similarity.

"Yeah, when I was five, before the accident."

"Accident?" Kurt asks.

Blaine quietens.

"Sorry, I'm pushing."

"No, no, it's fine." Blaine sighs, ""Let's just say Blaine isn't very clever when it comes to roads and crossing them." Blaine mumbles, taking a sip of coffee.

"Oh..."

"I got hit by a car," Blaine says through grit teeth. "I wasn't looking where I was going and BLAM! All I see is darkness and when I wake up, I can't move my legs anymore."

Kurt nodded, "Well the main thing is that you're still here; living and breathing."

"I suppose so."

Kurt smiles, "You seem to be rather open about this; most people lock their history up inside; never even letting an inch of it slip through their teeth. "

Blaine shrugs, "It's the past. Nothing can happen now it's behind us so what's a little sharing going to do to anybody?"

"Absolutely nothing." Kurt finishes.

"Absolutely nothing."

When Kurt arrives home, Carole is stood in the kitchen, tapping her foot with her arms crossed.

"How long does it take to walk to the shop and get a few eggs?"

"Like I said, I got side-tracked." Kurt sighs, placing the egg carton in front of Carole and heading upstairs.

"Yes, but that was three hours ago."

"And that meant you couldn't go to the shops yourself and get your eggs?"

Carole opens her mouth to say something before she closes it again; unsure of what to actually say – before she begins to laugh. "You're not going to help?"

"Nope," Kurt affirms, "Not this time."

"Alright," Carole as she walks back into the kitchen, humming to herself.

"I saw." Finn blurts, walking into Kurt's room, uninvited.

"And what was that?" Kurt asks, not turning to face him as he carries on flicking through Vogue.

"You. With some guy in a wheelchair. Who is he?"

"Blaine. He and his family recently moved in, three weeks ago I think. It's sort of funny how we haven't seen them before."

"Hm, what happened to him?"

"I'd rather not talk about that right now Finn."

"Okay, well, I'm going to Rachel's. I'll be back tomorrow." Kurt nods as he left.

(18:47)

Hey!

(18:47)

Hey stranger, how it's going?

(18:49)

Yeah, I'm pretty well. I enjoyed meeting you today. Hope we can be friends.

(18:50)

I'd say we're friends already Blaine.

(18:53)

Kurt...

(18:54)

Yes?

(18:54)

I just saw a spider. Save me.

(18:55)

Sorry, there is no way in hell I am going near any spider.

(18:56)

So you're scared of spiders too?

(18:56)

Petrified.

(18:56)

Well, you're not alone.

(19:03)

And to which I am so very glad! Shit, I have to go; my Dad is calling me. I'll talk to you later.

(19:03)

Okay! Bye Kurt!
