The image is still there when he wakes up the next morning and he is so deep in thought when he leaves the car at the school’s parking lot that he doesn’t hear the sound of the approaching engine. He doesn’t even have time to react when the breaking tires screech against the asphalt, only look up just in time to see the boy pull off his helmet. Because he is on a motorbike, of course he is, and the black curls drape around the boy’s face when he glares angrily at Kurt.

“Watch where you’re going, will you?”, he growls.

That is the first time Kurt hears his voice. And all Kurt can do is nod and hurry away because the sound of that voice does something to him, and he doesn’t want to be there and face the boy - face himself through the other boy’s eyes - when he realizes what it is.

And that is, he guesses, the reason he doesn’t tell Mercedes about his encounter when she only minutes later asks him if he has got any new juicy details about the dangerous transfer from Dalton.
