“You’re just a coward.”, Karofsky says. “You come here and act as nothing can touch you, like you’re so tough; the badass from Dalton, the murderer from juvie.” Karofsky tries to sound so confident, but Kurt can hear it, he is nervous. “I guess you’ve never even kill-“
“Shut it, Karofsky.”
Kurt hasn’t realized he is standing until the words leave his mouth. Somehow he has risen, and he honestly doesn’t know if he acts because he is afraid someone else will get hurt, or just one. Blaine. He just knows that the words that Karofsky is about to throw in the other boy’s face will be painful. And at first the big jock looks confused, Kurt is too, but then a grin appears on his lips.

But he never gets to finish the sentence. Blaine’s fist hits him in the stomach and he falls to the floor with a loud thud. The next moment two teachers are there, grabs Blaine’s arms and pulls him away, drags him with them, away from the stunned students and the quiet cafeteria, away from Karofsky and away from him. But before he disappears around the corner his eyes locks with Kurt’s, and though Kurt tries he can’t read anything of what they are saying.
