“Puck, what’s wrong? You look… scared.”

Worried Kurt walks back to him, but Puck’s complexion has already changed. The moment the word “scared” leaves Kurt’s lips the terrified look on his friends face turns into his usual nonchalant expression.

“Scared?”, Puck snorts scornfully, an unsuccessful attempt to cover up the feelings he has let slip. “You think the Puckasaurus is scared? You’re delusional.”

But Puck can’t hide that his face is still rather pale, and when Kurt follows his gaze it lands in the waiting room to the principal’s office, on a curly-haired boy slumped down in the sofa, feet on the table. The door to Figgins’ office is closed, but Ms Pillbury sits across the room from the boy, twitching her hands in her lap and nervously glancing in his direction.

“Someone you know?”, he asks, but Puck only huffs.
