Blaine tried to figure out what to wear to brunch, in the end he went with a grey stripped cardigan with grey pants and of course a bow tie. He wondered if it was weird not to wear socks, but he didn’t care, he didn’t like socks all that much so he decided to forego them. He was glad that his parents left about ten minutes before Kurt arrived; he knew they were trying to be ok with his sexuality but he didn’t want to throw it in their faces by introducing them to his new boyfriend quite yet. Blaine opened the door and saw Kurt dressed in tight red pants with a red, white and blue stripped sweater vest topped off with a red fedora.

“You look amazing. I mean. Hi Kurt.” Blaine smiled.

“Hi Blaine, thank you, you look great too.”  Kurt blushed before leaning in and giving Blaine a quick peck.

Kurt pulled into the parking lot of the best brunch place in Lima, ok so other than Denny’s it was the only place to get brunch in Lima and there was no way in hell Kurt was taking his boyfriend to Denny’s for brunch. Kurt giggled as he ran around the front of the car to open Blaine’s door for him.

“Thank you kind sir.” Blaine laughed.

“You’re most welcome.” Kurt replied kissing Blaine softly before pulling away which made Blaine lean forward trying to recapture Kurt’s lips.

“Remember no making out in parking lots honey.” Kurt scolded.

Blaine pouted.

“Maybe if you’re good at brunch we can make out later at your house.” Kurt smiled.

“Well in that case, we’d better go inside.” Blaine smirked offering Kurt his arm which Kurt gladly took.

They entered the restaurant and upon seeing that Mike and Tina were already there Kurt asked for a table as far away from them as possible, he loved the couple but he knew if they sat near them Tina would spend the whole time trying to listen in on his and Blaine’s conversation which would ruin both couples dates.

“So Blaine, I know that you don’t want to stand out at school at all so if you don’t want to hold my hand or sit with me at lunch I understand.”  Kurt said suddenly causing Blaine’s head to snap up.

“Kurt don’t be ridiculous, you are the best thing in my life of course I’m going to hold your hand and sit with you at lunch. Unless….unless you don’t want me to?”

                “I want you to.”

                “Good, that’s settled then.”

“It’s just you won’t be invisible anymore and the kids at school can be very homophobic.” Kurt tried to explain.

“It’s ok Kurt, they can’t touch us or what we have, we’ll show them that together.” Blaine said reaching out to hold Kurt’s hand.

“Ok.” Kurt replied squeezing Blaine’s hand.

“Now, what are you going to have?”  Blaine asked changing the subject.

“I’m thinking Eggs Benedict but they’re so fattening.”

“You don’t have to worry about that baby, you’re in amazing shape.”

“Thank you, I stay that way by not eating fattening foods.”

“Baby, if you want Eggs Benedict you should get it, besides kissing burns like a crazy amount of calories so I’ll help you burn it off later.” Blaine winked.

“Oh my god! Blaine!” Kurt exclaimed looking around to make sure no one was eavesdropping.

“Do you two know what you want?” The waitress asked approaching the table.

“Yes, I’ll have the Belgium waffles and my boyfriend will have the Eggs Benedict.” Blaine told her.

“Fantastic.” She replied.

“Also, can we get some more coffee please?” Kurt asked.

“Sure thing.”

“Blaine, you need to be more careful what you say in public!” Kurt admonished him.

“What? What did do?” Blaine asked.

“Talking about kissing me and calling me your boyfriend.” Kurt reminded him.

“It’s true though, isn’t it?” Blaine asked confused.

“Yes, but a lot of people aren’t accepting of us, especially in Ohio.”

“Kurt, I don’t care what other people think of me. Now if you don’t want me to be affectionate with you in public because it makes you uncomfortable I’ll stop but if it’s about making other people uncomfortable then I’m going to keep doing it and they can learn to get over it.”

“Ok but maybe you can tone it down just a little?”

“If that’s what you want baby.” Blaine said letting go of Kurt’s hand.

“No,” Kurt said tightening his grip of Blaine’s hand, “I just mean you don’t need to tell everyone we’re boyfriends they can probably figure it out for themselves anyway.”

“Sorry, I’m just proud to call you mine.”

“You know what, forget I said anything. Tell everyone you want we’re boyfriends.”

“Really? So I cans stand on my chair and shout it to the restaurant if I want?” Blaine asked.

“You can but please don’t. I don’t want to get kicked out, I’m hungry.” Kurt smiled.

“Can I lean across the table and kiss you right now?”

“Um…maybe a quick peck would be ok?” Kurt replied looking around nervously. “I mean Mike and Tina are still here so they’d have our backs if anything happened.”

“Baby, if it worries you that make I’ll wait and kiss you later.”

“I would prefer that.” Kurt confessed.

“I wish we lived somewhere this wasn’t an issue like New York.” Blaine sighed.

“I’m moving to New York after I graduate.” Kurt told Blaine proudly.

“Well, if you aren’t sick of me by then I’ll come too and I’m going to shout from the top of the Empire State building that you are mine.” Blaine smiled.

“I like that plan, sweetie.” Kurt smiled back.

The boys ate their brunch which was actually a little difficult at first until they both finally admitted that they had to let go of each other’s hand in order to eat. When they were finished Blaine went to pay but Kurt insisted that it was his turn, Blaine agreed as long as he got to pay next time Kurt laughed and agreed that was fair.

“Now, I believe I was promised a make out session at my place.” Blaine said smiling at Kurt.

“I believe you were.”  Kurt smiled back opening the passenger door of his car for Blaine.
