Blaine found Kurt at his locker.

“I’m not ready to talk about what just happened Blaine.” Kurt said before turning and walking away.

“I give up.” Blaine said evenly.

                “What?” Kurt asked turning around.

“I give up. I’m done. I can’t be the only one fighting for us Kurt. You keep sending me all these mixed messages and I don’t know what to do anymore so I’m done. I give up.”

                “You’re done?”

                “Yes.”

                “With me?”

“With trying to woo you. I still want to be with you, I’ll always want to be with you but I can’t chase after you anymore.”

“So you saying there’s no hope for us anymore?”

“I’m saying I’m not chasing after you anymore so whether we have a future or not is entirely up to you Kurt.”

Kurt bit his lip.

“I’m honestly just trying to do what is best for you Blaine, if I could I’d get into a time machine and go back and stop myself from ever changing you. You were so much better off before we got together. I heard a chorus of a song that reminds me of us, I’m not going to sing it but is says ‘you would've been better alone without my love you would've been safe from storms.’ I think that says everything.”

“You’re wrong Kurt, you love saved me your love let me be me again. I meant it when I sang ‘who I was wasn’t me’ I’m not this nerd that hides behind huge glasses and ever bigger books and dreams of going to Harvard. I’m a dork who loves bowties and hates socks. I used to dream of being on Broadway or a popstar or something that would let me perform in front of an audience. But then after what happened to me at camp happened I got so afraid of being around people that I let my dreams go and changed who I was but that was never the real me Kurt this is.”

                “You hate socks?”

                “Can’t stand them.”

                “I feel like there’s a story there.”

“There is but we got off topic.”

“The topic being that you are done.”

“Yes. The ball is your court now Kurt, do with it what you will.” Blaine said before walking away leaving Kurt staring after him.

Later that afternoon Blaine groaned upon hearing his phone ring, knowing that it would be Cooper. It’s not that he didn’t want to talk to him it was that he knew Cooper was calling to find out how the big romantic gesture went.

“Hey Coop.” Blaine said answering his phone.

“Hey squirt! How did it go? Is he there with you right now? Oh God am I interrupting sexy times? Tell me you put some pants one before answering the phone.”

                “It didn’t work.”

“What do you mean it didn’t work?”

“I mean I sang to him and he ran away.”

“You went after him right? Tell me you went after him.”

“I did, sort of. I found him at his locker and we talked.”

                “Ok”

“I told him I’m done, I give up.”

“Oh, playing hard to get. I like it. Solid move.”

“No Coop, I meant it. I feel like our relationship is entirely one-sided, I spend all my time chasing after him and he sends me all these mixed messages and I just can’t anymore. If he wants us to be together he needs to make a move.”

“He might not make a move Blaine.”

                “I know.”

“Would you be ok with that?”

“Not really but what else can I do? I can’t keep getting my heart broken each time he rejects me. Do you know how much it hurts to sing to someone in front of the entire school to pour your heart and soul out like that and then have them run away?”

                “Can’t say I do.”

                “It hurts like hell Coop.”

                “I imagine it would.”

“I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”

“Want to watch chick flicks, eat ice cream and cry together? Well over the phone anyway.”

                “Yes please.”
