After their encounter in the bathroom, (Kurt still couldn’t believe they kissed in one of McKinley’s disgustingly filthy boys rooms, seriously it was the least romantic place in the whole world) Kurt noticed that Blaine was….different. He looked hopeless, like he had actually lost all hope and it broke Kurt’s heart. Kurt just wanted to wrap his arms around Blaine and kiss him until his eyes sparkled the way they used to but he couldn’t, they weren’t together anymore. Blaine wasn’t his anymore, Kurt was counting the days until New York, yes he had been looking forward to moving to New York for a while but recently he had begun to associated New York with Blaine, they could be together in New York, they would be safe there. But does Blaine still want that? Kurt wasn’t sure. He had been sure until that day in the bathroom, did he break Blaine’s heart too many times or did Blaine decide he was too much of a coward and wanted someone braver?

Truth be told Kurt liked it when Blaine brought him coffee in the morning, he liked that Blaine was trying to win him back, he liked being wooed. And now that Blaine stopped last week Kurt has missed it. He already had a hard time not holding Blaine’s hand and kiss him whenever he wanted but the possibility of Blaine not wanting Kurt anymore was positively devastating.

Kurt knew he was the one who broke up with Blaine but he didn’t do it by choice, they both knew he only did it because of Karofsky’s threat. Kurt was beginning to wonder if that was still a problem, after all Karofsky hadn’t done anything to him since around the time of the break-up was that because he no longer had to see them holding hands or is he actually making the effort to try and be a better person? Kurt figured it was best not to push his luck which is why he hadn’t gotten back together with Blaine yet. But he felt like Blaine was slipping away from him and the thought of losing him forever hurt more than anything Karofsky could ever do to him. So, the next morning Kurt was the one who went to the Lima Bean before school, Kurt was the one waiting at Blaine’s locker with coffee. Kurt was the one who smiled brightly when he saw Blaine and Kurt was the one who told Blaine he looked beautiful that day.

“I’m kinda getting mixed singles here Kurt, what do you want from me?” Blaine asked.

“I want it all Blaine…but it scares the hell out me…it really does, but what scares me the most is the thought that maybe you don’t want me anymore.”

“I’ll always want you Kurt.”

“Good…I mean….no, you know what? I do mean good. I like the fact you’ll always want me ‘cause I’m always going to want you too.”

“Does this mean….are we back together?” Blaine asked hopefully.

“I’m still so scared Blaine. I want to get back with you but I’m still so scared.”

“I’ll keep you safe Kurt, I’m promise I’ll do whatever I can do to keep you safe.”

                “I need more time, ok?”

                “Ok.”

                “Don’t give up on me.”

                “I won’t.” Blaine promised.

Kurt gently brushed his hand on Blaine’s cheek before walking away leaving Blaine starring after him.
