TW: kidnapping, threats of knife violence, death threats
Blaine woke slowly, his head was pounding and he knew he was sitting up. For a second he thought he fell asleep reading a medical text book on the couch again but that didn’t explain why he couldn’t move his arms or legs. As he became more conscious he realised he was tied to a chair.
“Hello Blaine Anderson.” A voice he didn’t recognize greeted him, but it didn’t take a genius to figure out who it belonged to.
“Adian Davis.” Blaine replied cautiously, trying to keep the hate out of his voice as not to anger his captor.
“Good, you know who I am. It would be awkward if you didn’t. Now, you’re probably wondering why I asked you here.”
“You didn’t exactly ask me here.”
“Tomayto, tomahto.” Adian replied waving his hand dismissively, a hand which, much to Blaine’s terror, was holding a knife. “Anyway, the reason for this little tête–à–tête is one Kurt Hummel.” Blaine looked around the room in panic. “Oh no, he isn’t here, he’s still wowing the audience in Baton Rouge. You and I need to have a little talk about him and this whole soul mate situation.”
If this was a television show there would be a conveniently placed nail or sharp piece of plastic that Blaine could covertly rub the rope against until it broke and he could free himself, however, it was not and there was not.
“It seems that we both want Kurt as a soul mate but it’s not like we can share him that would be crazy.” Adian laughed sending a chill up Blaine’s spine.
“Certifiable.” Blaine quipped before mentally berating himself for risking pissing off the guy with the knife.
“But I came up with two possible solutions, now I’m fine with either one so I figured I’d let you decide, ok?”
Blaine didn’t see any option but to cautiously agree.
“Good, option one is you publically deny being Kurt’s soul mate and then disappear from his life forever…” Adian started but was interrupted by Blaine vehemently refusing that option. “Shh! Let me finish.” Adian scolded him. “Option two is for you to get intimately acquainted with my not so little friend here.” He said indicating his knife. “I know you want to be a doctor so if you chose the second option I’ll go slowly so you can name the vital organs and arteries as I stab into them.”
“Is there a third option?” Blaine asked.
“There’s really not.”
“Do you really think that if I were to deny being Kurt’s soul mate or if I were dead Kurt would just fall into your arms?”
“Yes. He wants to be with me he just doesn’t feel like he can with you around.”
“Adian, I know Kurt is an amazing guy and I can completely understand why you’d want him to be your soul mate but he’s not. He’s my soul mate, he loves me, he wants to be with me.”
“SHUT UP!!!” Adian screamed lunging towards Blaine with his knife. Blaine recoiled what little bit he could considering he was tied to a chair.
Kurt finished his tour specific night time skin care regime, it wasn’t as long as it was normally and far shorter than it was when he was in high school as there was just no way he could have brought all those products with him on tour but at the same time there was no way he was going to subject his skin to the horrors of being on tour and under those harsh stage lights every night without some sort of moisturizing routine. He frowned at his phone as he finished.
“Everything ok?” Cooper asked from across the room.
“Blaine usually texts me good night by now.” Kurt replied glaring at his phone like it was its fault there was no text.
“You could text him first you know.”
“I did! I texted him I was going to do my skin care routine and then go to bed like half an hour ago and nothing.”
“He’s probably just distracted studying, he has exams now right?”
“He does have his dance exam tomorrow.”
“Well there you go, he lost track of time going over his choreography and he’ll text you an apology as soon as he checks his phone.”
Kurt sighed. “The logical part of me agrees with you but at the same time I can’t shake this feeling like something is wrong.”
“Maybe your soul mate senses is picking up on his exam stress.”
“Soul mate senses?”
“Yeah kinda like Spidey senses but for soul mates.”
Kurt looked at his friend, blinked once and then decided to let the subject drop. Cooper was probably right that he was worrying about nothing, not about the soul mate senses thing though. Kurt didn’t believe that was a possibility. He sent Blaine a quick text wishing him good night and telling him not to stay up all night going over his choreography. When Kurt woke up the next morning and still hadn’t gotten a text from Blaine his worry returned and when Rachel called to ask if he had heard from Blaine because he hadn’t come home last night Kurt packed his bag.
