Author's Notes:

When I posted the first chapter I told myself I would update once a week and yet here I am updating already. I'm just too excited to share this story with all of you I guess.

Blaine called the number as soon as he got out of his last class, deciding not to wait until he got back to the hotel in case he was able to go by and see it today. The girl he spoke seemed friendly if not a little loud but apparently she needed to find someone to rent the room as badly as he wanted an apartment and agreed to allow him to come by and see the place and have a little chat that day.  The place wasn’t hard to find and the neighborhood was definitely better than a lot of the neighborhoods he had looked at apartments in, meaning he didn’t think he was going to get murdered at any second. He knocked firmly on the door of the loft and waited until a petit brunette opened the door.

“You must be Blaine, come in come in.” She greeted him.

He stepped in a looked around the apartment, it was actually quite large but he noticed there didn’t appear to be a lot of actual rooms, rather they had hung curtains around the place and made their own rooms.

“So right now there are two of us living here and we need to sublet the third room, our third roommate has temporarily abandoned us.”

                “Umm…ok.”

“Just for a year mind you, so that means if you rent them room you’ll have to move out in a year.”

                “That’s fine.”

                “Where do you live now?”

“In a hotel, I haven’t been able to find a place.”

She nodded. “Well at least it isn’t the dorms, I lived in the dorms for a while, well about a week, any way I hated it.”

“I tried to move into the dorms but they lost my paperwork.”

“That’s too bad. So this will be your first year at NYADA?”

He nodded.

“I’m in my second year so if you need any advice you let me know, ok?”

                “I will.”

“Fantastic. I guess I should give you the grand tour now, shouldn’t I?”

                “That would be great.”

He had pretty much decided as soon as he walked in the door that he would take the room of she was willing to rent it to him. The place just felt to right to him. It felt like home already but he thought a tour of the place would be good so if he did move in he would know where things like where his bedroom and the bathroom were located. And he wanted to make sure they weren’t secretly running a grow-op out of one of the closets or something (one of the places he had looked at before was).

“So this would be your room, it comes with all the furniture you see here but I guess if you really wanted we could move it into storage.”

“No the stuff in here is great.”

She nodded.

“The bathroom is just down to the left.” She said pointing to the door. “We each have a shelf in there, yours will be the empty one.”

                “Alright.”

“Now there are two of us living here right now, I think I told you that right?” She asked, he nodded in reply. “Good, so we’re both women, are you ok with that?”

“I haven’t actually lived with women other than my mom before but I don’t see it being a problem.”

“Good, I was going to make sure you were fine with our other roommate being a lesbian but then I realised your gay, so…” She shrugged. “Oh! Please tell me you’re out and I didn’t just embarrass you! Sometimes I speak without thinking and I have excellent gaydar so don’t go thinking you’re super obvious or anything if you aren’t out yet.”

“It’s ok, I’m out. And I think I am pretty obvious.” He said gesturing to his outfit.

She shrugged.

“I have a good feeling about you Blaine, so I propose we try this at a trial basis, say one month and if you don’t like it here or if you turn out to be a terrible roommate you’ll move out, ok?”

                “Sounds good.”

“Excellent! Do you have any questions?”

                “Um, yeah. What’s your name?”

“Oh, silly me I forgot to introduce myself. Rachel Barbara Berry future Broadway star pleased to make your acquaintance.”

                “The pleasure is all mine.”

“And our other roommate is Santana Lopez, she might try to scare you off but just know her bark is worse than her bite. Don’t tell her I said that.”

“Ok, and the third roommate? The one whose room I’m renting.”

“That would be Kurt Hummel, he’s currently touring the country in a yearlong production of RENT, he plays Angel.”

                “That’s amazing. I love RENT.”

“Who doesn’t? Anyway he was lucky that both NYADA and his job at Vogue.com gave him a year off so he could do it. I think he’s actually getting some credits for NYADA for doing it too, they like their students to be in productions, well I’m sure they told you at orientation.”

Blaine once again nodded.

“I’ve got a call back for the Funny Girl revival so don’t be surprised if I’m a huge Broadway star by the time the year is up.”

                “I’m sure you will be.”

“I like you, have I told you that yet?”

“You hadn’t but thank you, I like you too.”

“Go grab your stuff, you can move in right away. Kurt left town yesterday.”

“Ok, I’ll be back before you know it. Should I just knock when I get back….or?”

“Oh! Let me get you a key.” She said looking around and then grabbing a key that was placed on the kitchen table. “And before I forget make sure you don’t walk around the apartment naked, Santana will mock you mercilessly even if you have nothing to be ashamed of and Kurt really hates when people sit naked in his vintage chairs and I know he isn’t here right now but he’ll know, somehow he’ll know and you don’t want him to be mad at you. His bite is worse than his bark.”

“Ok then. I’m not really one to walk around naked anyway.”

“Good, go get your stuff when you get back we’ll order Chinese and have a proper roommate bonding session.”

As he left the apartment and headed back to his hotel part of him wondered if he would regret his decision to move in with Rachel as she seemed to be a tad excitable but most of him felt that he belonged in that loft with Rachel and even with Santana despite not having met her yet.
