Sorry it took so long to update! I was having trouble getting it just right. I wish I could promise to update more regularly from now on but I'm going to be working a lot between now and Christmas but I will update when I can.
The first time you see your soul mate you are overcome with a myriad of feelings. The first and the strongest being love, you can feel it from your head to your toes, you love them completely and you know they love you completely. You know no matter what you will love them for the rest of your life even if you don’t spend it with them. The second feeling is one of home, it doesn’t matter where you are the first time you see them or how long you’ve been there when you see them you feel at home because they are your home. The third feeling you have is a sense of finally, finally you’ve found them. You might not have known until your laid eyes on them that you had a soul mate but when you find them it feels like you’ve finally found them. And the fourth is the desire to touch, to hold them, to rip their clothes off and let your hands explore every inch of them, worship every inch of them, to feel them. Of course there are other feelings as well: joy, curiosity, amazement and many others but those four are what hit first and are the strongest.
“I wasn’t sure you existed.” Kurt breathed.
“That’s ok. I knew you existed but I didn’t expect you to be…”Blaine trailed off as he put his hand on the empty seat across from Kurt in question. Kurt nodded and Blaine sat down.
“To be?” Kurt questioned, worried the response would be ‘To be a man.’
“To be so beautiful. I mean god look at you. My soul mate is a model.” Blaine wanted to reach over and caress the other man’s cheek but decided it was probably too soon.
“Me? Look at you! You’re gorgeous.”
“I’m Blaine.”
“Kurt.”
What do you do when you meet your soul mate for the first time? A hand shake seems too formal, too impersonal and kiss would be way too intimate. Blaine placed his hand on the table between them offering it to Kurt and then squeezed his soul mate’s hand when it was placed in his own. Neither one of them let go.
“So tell me about yourself Blaine.”
“Ok well I’m originally from Lima but I’m currently living in New York and am attending NYADA but next semester I’m transferring to Columbia pre-med.”
Kurt raised his eyebrow questioningly as he took a sip of his non-fat mocha.
“NYADA is great and all but ultimately it’s not what I want, I want to be a doctor…I…I only applied to NYADA because the brochure got mixed in with all the places I was looking at and I took it as a sign that you go there or something.”
“I do go there. I mean not right now I’m taking a year off and am touring in a production of RENT. I play Angel.”
“Are there multiple touring productions of RENT? It’s just my brother is in one too, he plays Roger.”
“Oh my god! You’re Cooper’s brother aren’t you?”
Blaine nodded. “You know Cooper?”
“Apparently he and I are tour BFFs. He’s going to flip out, you have to let me be there when you tell him.”
“Of course, my mom is going to insist you come to her birthday dinner the day after tomorrow when she finds out I found you so we can tell him then. God. I can’t believe you know Coop.”
“You know he talks about you, he told me about how you were going to find your soul mate one day. Little did he know.”
“He’s going to claim he did know though.”
“Of course he will.”
“So…I think I might be renting out your room.” Blaine said awkwardly.
“What?”
“You live with Rachel and Santana right? When I moved in they told me my room belongs to a Kurt who is playing Angel in RENT, so I mean it kinda has to be you.”
“Holy shit, you’re renting my room.”
Blaine nodded. “Look at you getting me in your bed before you even knew my name.” he joked.
“What can I say? I’ve got moves.”
“I’m sure you do.”
Both men took a moment to compose themselves lest the conversation get too sexual which would have been very easy to do with both their bodies itching to jump the other but neither was the kind of guy to climb into bed with someone he just met even if that someone was his soul mate.
“Hey, were you at Hummel Tires and Lube yesterday? It’s just I took my mom’s car there to get fixed and I was sure I felt you there, like you had just left.” Blaine asked.
“That’s my dad’s shop. I helped him out a little bit yesterday.”
“You know I’ve heard of this before, soul mates been drawn to places and people important to their other half before they even meet. It’s not common but I’ve heard of it happening.”
Kurt nodded knowing his dad’s first job turned out to be for Kurt’s mother’s dad at the garage that would eventually become Hummel Tires and Lube but despite that they didn’t meet there, not they met at a grocery store of all places when they both reached for the same apple and it was love at first site, of course they later realised it was more than that it was two souls finally reuniting.
“Kurt?” Blaine asked “You ok? You kind of spaced out for a moment there.”
“Sorry, I was just thinking about my parents. They were soul mates too and I just finally got what they were talking about.”
Blaine smiled and squeezed Kurt’s hand.
“The son of two soul mates finding his own soul mate, god the media would have a field day with that.” Blaine commented.
“Is that what you want?” Kurt asked biting his lip.
“God no. You kidding me? Being followed around by cameras having paparazzi trying to take photos of all our private moments? That sounds like a nightmare to me.”
“Me too. You should know, I’m not quitting the play. I know we’re supposed to want to spend every second of the day with each other and I’m not saying that I don’t want to spend as much time with you as possible but this play and performing in general have been my dream for so long. I can’t just give that up, not even for you, I won’t.”
“I would never ask you to give up your dreams for me Kurt. We might not be able to see each other as often as we’ll want to but we’ll see each other when we can, and we can always Skype. It’s not that much longer, just a few months and what’s a few months when we have eternity?”
“God, we just met and you’re already talking about eternity and I’m fine with it….it’s all a bit intense.”
“It is, but I think it will get less so over time. Not our feelings for each other, I don’t think we’ll ever feel less for each other than we do right now or at least I hope not. But I think over time it will become less….overwhelming.”
“You don’t seem overwhelmed.”
“I’m not, not right now anyway, maybe it hit me later. But I’ve been preparing for this moment pretty much my whole life whereas you didn’t know I existed until today so it would make sense you’d be overwhelmed.”
“I think maybe I did know but then I let other people convince me I was wrong but I think I felt you once in sophomore year, I was just watching a movie with my dad and all of a sudden I was overcome with fear and I just couldn’t breathe. Dad said that something must have happened to…well to you.”
“Yeah.” Blaine said softly.
Kurt nodded. “You don’t have to talk about it right now if you don’t want to but maybe someday you’ll tell me?”
“I will I promise, but let’s just keep today happy ok?”
“Ok but nothing could ruin today, today’s the day we found each other.”
“I’m so glad it’s you Kurt.”
“I’m glad it’s you too Blaine.”
The two men sat and talked until they both received texts from their respective parents asking if they would be home for dinner.
“I should probably…” Kurt said
“Yeah, me too….can we spend the day together tomorrow? I mean I guess we kinds did today but like on purpose?”
“I would love that.”
The two soul mates exchange numbers and then Blaine walked Kurt to his car.
“If we weren’t in Lima I’d kiss you.” Blaine said as he softly stroked Kurt’s cheek.
“You know what? The homophobes can go fuck themselves I want to kiss my soul mate.” Kurt replied before joining their lips in a gentle kiss.
