Blaine loved his job, absolutely loved it. It wasn't what he thought he would be doing when he was growing up, he expected to be a performer but through a series of events known as life he instead became a product tester at a major toy company, it was his job to test the new toys and report any flaws to the design team, basically he got to play with toys for a living which was fucking awesome! All he really needed to do was write up his findings and then email them to the design department and that's the way he had always done it until last week when the company email system was down and he had to hand deliver his report, that is when he first met Kurt who simply put was the most beautiful man Blaine had ever seen. Now Blaine would always hand deliver his reports and take the time to talk to Kurt about his findings and try like hell not to get distracted by things like Kurt's eyes, and Kurt's voice and planning their wedding, which would be creepy because Blaine didn't even know for sure if Kurt was gay and if he was if he was single so he was definitely not mentally debating what type of flowers they should have at their wedding, no he was totally focused on work.

"What's on your mind?" Kurt asked seeing Blaine approaching his desk taking Blaine by surprise and causing him to blurt out: "Flowers."

"Flowers?" Kurt asked wrinkling his brow in confusion.

"I think maybe flowers would look nice....for the paint job...." Blaine stammered trying to cover his blunder.

"Weren't you testing prototype 136-7A today?"

"Yes."

"And you want us to put flowers on it?"

"Yes." Blaine gulped.

"It's a remote control plane."

"Right."

"I think I get what you are thinking."

"You do?"

"Yeah, it would make it more 'socially acceptable' for little girls to play with if it was pink with flowers, slowly breaking down the gender barriers, I like it."

"Yes, that's it exactly!" Blaine replied feeling a little guilty that Kurt thought he had this brilliant plan but mostly relieved that he didn't think Blaine an idiot.

"Any other notes?"

"Umm...yeah it's a bit too heavy."

"You think kids will have trouble carrying it?"

"No...well maybe, but mostly I mean that it's too heavy to get off the ground."

"Well that is an issue."

"Yup."

"I suppose we could use lighter plastic."

"But then it won't be as durable, one good crash and it will be trashed."

"We could out in a bigger motor but that would drive the price up."

"What if you just made it smaller?"

"It is kind of big isn't it?"

Blaine nodded.

"Ok, so smaller and pink with flowers...well this is going to be a first." Kurt said smiling slightly.

"Beautiful." Blaine breathed.

"What's that?"

"It's going to be beautiful."

"Oh." Kurt fought off his disappointment. "Yes it will be."

"I should go..."

"Of course, go play with some more toys."

Blaine walked back to his cubicle but instead of playing with toys like he was supposed to, he tried to position his chair in such a way that he could catch the occasional glimpse of Kurt unfortunately that seemed to be impossible without either standing on his desk or installing a series of mirrors but Blaine decided that both options would raise too much attention and decided to just make do with his daily trips to the design department. Blaine sighed and decided that it was time for his lunch break he went to a nearby dinner and had a club sandwich with a glass of ice tea, the whole time he was eating he kept imagining a day when he would be brave enough to ask Kurt to join him at lunch. On the way back to the office he walked past a florist and on a whim he bought a dozen daises to be delivered to Kurt with the note that read For Inspiration.

The flowers brought a smile to Kurt's face and while the card was not signed he had a pretty good idea if who sent them so when he saw Blaine heading towards the washroom he quickly ran to Blaine's cubicle and left him a post-it that read. Thank you for the flowers, they are beautiful. When he returned to his own cubicle after grabbing his afternoon coffee and saw a note stuck to his computer that simply said You are beautiful he felt like he was floating on air. He meant to send a note back to Blaine but he got called into a designers meeting that lasted until long after Blaine went home for the day.

When Blaine didn't get a note back he convinced himself that he overstepped and there was no way in hell Kurt was interested in him so he decided to back off, instead he sent him an email about the problems with the prototype 567-9F or in laymen's terms water gun that had trigger that had a tendency to get stuck which was actually kind of found to be hilarious when he was testing it by squirting his older brother Cooper but not so much when Cooper managed to get it away from Blaine and soaked him. Not talking to Kurt was really horrible but Blaine thought it was probably best to give the other man some space.

"Hi Blaine." Kurt said leaning against the entrance to Blaine's cubicle.

"Oh hi Kurt."

"So I have some questions about your report."

"Alright."

"So you said the trigger stuck, did you have the trigger lock on?"

"There's a trigger lock?" Blaine asked picking up the water gun and looking at it.

"Yeah so you don't have to keep squeezing the trigger, it's right here." Kurt said pushing the small button on the side of the toy causing his hand to brush against Blaine's.

"Try it now." Kurt instructed Blaine who looked at Kurt and raised one eyebrow mischievously.

"Squirt me and I will kill you." Kurt told Blaine in no uncertain terms.

Blaine picked up his garbage can and aimed the gun into squeezing the trigger once releasing a spray of water which stopped as soon as he released the trigger, he gave it a few more test fires but the trigger never stuck.

"I guess the trigger lock was on but I think it stays on too long so maybe have it so it slowly eases off as you pull the trigger. I found hilarious that is stayed on and really soaked Cooper but he didn't really appreciate it."

"Cooper?" Kurt asked.

"My brother."

"Oh." Kurt breathed sounding relieved. "Ok then we'll make the trigger lock slowly ease itself off and we'll label it better."

"Sounds great."

"You didn't come by my desk to give me your report." Kurt said looking at the toy gun and idly pushing the trigger lock on and off.

"I thought maybe you didn't want me to."

"I want you to."
