Author's Notes: First chapter so go easy on me please.

Next time don’t forget your jacket.

Blaine inwardly cursed himself.  It was mid-January in the dead of winter, and all he was wearing was a fucking sweater.  He was absolutely freezing and was regretting his decision to go out and take a walk in the park. Too lazy you said.  You’re going to turn into a potato you said.  Ugh stupid brain, you just wouldn’t let me stay inside. He had gone for a brisk walk in the park, and was now making his way to the nearest anything, desperate for some sort of warmth.  Finally after a few minutes, he reached a small, quaint coffee house. He quickly walked inside, relaxing instantly in the warm room.

There weren’t many people around, probably cause they all have awesome brains that want them to stay warm and alive. Blaine went to the counter and ordered his coffee, before finding himself a small table by the side.  He drank his coffee slowly, and simply relaxed; he had no intentions of going out to the winter hell hole any time soon.

He stayed there for longer than expected though, and by the time he checked his watch he had already stayed for 2 hours.  Crap.  It’s getting late and you’re gonna have to walk home in that. Cursing his brain again, he made his way towards the door.  He remembered he was still holding his coffee mug and went to throw it in the bin.  As he turned around, he knocked into someone, causing them to spill their coffee on the floor.

“Oh god, I’m so sorry I didn’t see you, I’ll pay for that if you-“ He waved his arms in the air wildly, panicking that he had burnt the man.  Blaine was cut off by the man before he could finish.

“Hey no, relax its ok.  It’s just coffee.  Don’t worry about it” All the time Blaine had been looking at the ground cursing himself, before he finally looked up at the man.  Wow. The man looked about mid-20s, and was gorgeous; he had thick gorgeous hair and the greenest eyes.  Blaine couldn’t help it when his mouth fell open.  The man couldn’t help but give Blaine an endearing smile.

“I’m Sebastian, it’s nice to meet you”.  Blaine continued to stay frozen; this man could not be starting a conversation with him, could he?

“Um, if it’s still bothering you, you can pay for my coffee if you would like… but only if I can buy you one as well.”

Wow ok, no this handsome stranger was offering (sort of) to buy Blaine coffee.

“Or if you don’t like coffee I could get you tea or whatever else you prefer?”  It finally sunk to Blaine that perhaps he should say something back.

“Uh, no it’s fine I’ll totally pay for you coffee but don’t worry about me, I’m all good.  I’ll just pay and leave…”

“No, I want to buy you a coffee or tea or… do you have some more time?  I got the idea that you were leaving, but if you’re not in too much of a rush... would you like to stay for a chat?”

Ok wow, this Sebastian guy, wanted to have coffee with Blaine.  This is crazy Blaine.  Don’t do it, he’s out of your league.

“Well, I guess I have some time to spare, if it’s not hassling you or anything.  By the way, I’m Blaine” he answered.   Oh screw it, when else has a ridiculously handsome stranger asked you to a coffee… date?  Sebastian’s mouth spread into a wide smile.

“Well Blaine, I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else”.

Blaine was happy.  He and Sebastian had just celebrated their 6 month anniversary and all was going well.  After their first coffee date, Sebastian had driven him home (and thank god, he had not wanted to walk home in that darn weather), and they had exchanged numbers.  Sebastian contacted Blaine soon after to arrange another date and all had gone well after that.

They had talked and learnt a lot about each other.  Blaine learnt that Sebastian was 27 years old and living by himself in a small apartment.  He was an aspiring actor, who had landed a few roles in minor tv shows here and there was trying to break it into the movie scene.  He had attended Dalton (much to Blaine’s surprise), and was a fantastic singer.  His favourite colour was red, and his favourite season was winter (Sebastian had said because that was the season they met).  In turn Sebastian had learnt all about Blaine; how he was taking a gap year before starting college, how he loved musicals, romantic comedies, brownies, the colour blue and the spring season.

Aside from all the trivial information, they learnt the more personal details of each other, and through it all they had only grown closer. When Blaine introduced Sebastian to his friends, a lot of them were unsure; Sebastian was 27 and Blaine was only 19.  Wes had said that the age difference was just too big, Thad had said that their priorities were different and that it wouldn’t work out.  Blaine thought it was all silly, so he jokingly brought up the topic with Seb that night.

“So, we showed them didn’t we?” Blaine had said nonchalantly.

“Showed what babe?”

“Well you know, all my friends kept telling me that we weren’t gonna make it, there was too much of an age difference yada yada yada.  All that stuff”

Blaine couldn’t see it, with his back turned, but Sebastian’s face turned stony.

“Well of course we were gonna make it, age is just a number right?” Sebastian replied back, trying to keep his voice levelled.

“That’s what I said!  But they kept going on and on about priorities and all that crap…” Blaine continued to ramble.

“And did you think we were going to make it?”

“Yeah… I did.  But then they kept talking to me about it and for a bit, yeah, I was worried.  But after we hit 4 months, I was sure that we were gonna make it for a while.”

“So you did have your doubts, and it was all because of your fucking friends” Sebastian muttered coldly.

“Hmm, what did you say?  Seb, if you’re worried that I have my doubts then stop!  Honestly, I really like you, and I have a feeling that nothing’s going to happen to us for a long run” Blaine walked up behind Sebastian and hugged his waist.

“Look don’t worry, I’m not getting ideas.  That was just a tiny phase that everyone goes through, it’s nothing serious, ok?”

“It’s just, I’ve never doubted our relationship… and it stings to hear that you did, especially to hear that the idea came from your ‘friends’.” Sebastian turned around and placed his hands on Blaine’s hips.

“Please, promise me that you won’t ever doubt us again?  It just makes me feel uneasy and I…I love you Blaine.  I know I haven’t told you before but I do.  And I believe in us”

Sebastian leaned in to give Blaine a slow languid kiss.  Blaine’s eyes were closed, trying to savour this moment.  It was the first time anyone had told him they loved him, and to hear it from someone like Sebastian was especially special.  After a few minutes of kissing, Blaine broke away, before whispering “I love you too”. And he meant it, no matter what anybody said about him and Seb, they were going to make it.  They loved each other and that was all they needed.

Little did he know, Sebastian had other things in mind.

End Notes: So I hope you like it! New chapter will be up in a few days time.. perhaps earlier. Tell me what you think so far!

really like this first chapter, looking forwzrd for the next update soon :-)

I'm glad you started the story with the "bad relationship" (which i'm assuming is With Sebastian) and not after it. It builds a better contrast for your story. Looking forward to your next chapter (soon I hope!) - thanks for writing!

I am interested in seeing what is going to happen next. Hopefully Kurt will be able to be Blaine's protector or at least help with whatever he will encounter.
