Author's Notes: So, here we go with the second chapter. It is shorter, but it was a good point to cut and I felt, that I need to deliver by now. This took me a little more time to write and I still don't know, how I feel about it. I hope it all makes sense, though with Kurt's emotions and stuff. Enjoy!

Chapter 2

Kurt groaned as the annoying beeping of the alarm clock ripped him out of his dreams. One moment he had the pleasuring feeling of soft lips tingling on his own and the next an uncomfortable heat slapped him in the face.

His dreams consisted of the same thing as his thoughts the whole evening before. Blaine. Kurt felt disappointment boiling up in him, when he noticed, that the make-out session, he just had, wasn't real and probably never would be. Because honestly, the boy was way out of his league and probably either tried to be nice or cruel, knowing how to mess with the new, gay kid's emotions.

When he reached the kitchen, Carole and Finn were already sitting on the table, sipping their coffees.

"We really need to figure out, how to get fresh air into my room or someday I'm going to fry alive", Kurt mumbled, while pouring some cereal into a bowl.

"I already called the guy, who wants to install something -don't ask me what, because I have no idea- and he is going to come these days", Carole responded, but sounded equally as sleepy as she looked with her hair sticking out to every direction.

All the while Finn had his head burried in his arms: "Could you guys please stop talking? It hurts!"

Kurt chuckled and took his food, in order to sit down next to Carole. "Where is my dad?", he whispered.

"Still asleep. He only has to check something up at the store, before it opens in a few days, so he can stay in bed as long as he wants to."

The teenager nodded, while rubbing his eyes. It shouldn't get to him so much to wake up for school, since he also did it last week, but the past few days felt like half of forever. Not only had he said goodbye to his friends and home, made an road trip, that lasted nearly two days with the stop at some motel in Nebraska and moved into a house he had never seen before, but he also met a lot of new people, under which one made an overwhelming expression with his sparkling eyes and the little smile he gave Kurt, before he left the bathroom completely. Maybe he told his father, that Blaine was an idiot, but what could he really say, when his dad got worked up like that. But to be true, only in five minutes talking, the boy had shown two completely different sides.

Needless to say, that Kurt really looked forward to meet the guy again and figure out the mess, that were his current feelings.

Before, his outfit had to be perfect, because he needed to show his new school, what Kurt Hummel was made off, but now it had to be better.

So, after he showered and made his daily routine of brushing his teeth, taking care of his face and styling his hair, he put on a black, printed dress shirt with a dark-gray waistcoat over it and an equally black pair of skinnies, that hugged his tighs in the best way possible. Finishing off his creation with Doc Martens and a golden brouche, he ran upstairs to find Finn in his letterman jacket waiting for him, tapping his foot unpatiently on the ground.

Kurt blushed heavily, when Carole cat called after him, while the two teenagers rushed out of the house, due to the fact, that they were already later than they should be.

*****

It wasn't exactly a long drive and as a result of Finn speeding up a little, they made it to school on time, but still had to hurry to their class.

Thankfully, Kurt's first subject was gym. Normally, that would bother him a lot, seeing that he hated to get all sweaty and gross, but today it seemed like a mirical, because it meant, he could share the first hours in this new environment with Finn.

The only problem was the locker room, he had to share with the other boys, of whom many send him deathful glares as he walked through the door, until one of them laughed out loud: "Look, Finn got himself a homo!" The guy next to him, both dressed in a too big football shirt, without the protectors under it, gave him a high-five, cheering about the "oh-so-amazing" insult, the idiot had just shared.

"Lay off, Karofsky!" Kurt turned around to the familiar voice and spottet Sam walking to him. The teen hold out his fist like the previous day, except this time, Kurt reciprocated it immediately, to which the blond guy grinned: "Good to see you again, Bro! Don't care about Karofsky. He's just jealous, that you have more girls swooning over how awesome you are than him and you weren't even here, until now!" He raised his voice at the last part, so the whole locker room could hear it, to which the jocks only snorted.

Gym wasn't as bad as at his old school, but that was mostly grounded on the presence of Finn, Sam and a sporty, asian boy called Mike, who was also in Glee Club. Alone that fact made Kurt wonder, if Glee was maybe cool at McKinley. Seemed like half of the people were either football players or cheerleaders.

The other footballers kept their distance to the quartett, but send over hateful glares every once in a while. It was nothing, Kurt couldn't deal with.

The moment he was dressed in his own clothes again and out of the locker room, a blond cheerleader, he hadn't met, yet, took his arm: "Am I right,if I guess, that you're Kurt Hummel?"

"Yes?", Kurt tried, while the girl kept on pulling him from hallway to hallway.

"Are you going to tell me who you are and what you're doing?" But he didn't get a response, other than the cheerleader stopping and opening a door to an empty classroom.

Seemingly empty as it turned out, when they got inside and Kurt spotted a group of girls sitting on the desks in the far back corner of the room.

The blond cheerleader smiled and spoke in a voice like syrup, that perfectly fitted her beautiful look: "So, you already met Rachel, Mercedes, Santana and Brittany."

Said girls gave him little waves, even if Santana's was combined with a bitchy look.

"I'm Quinn", the pretty girl spoke on, "the asian one is Tina and the little quirk is Sugar."

"Nice to meet you, girls, even if I still don't know, what this all means."

Rachel cleared her throat in a dramatic manner, to which the others only rolled their eyes: "Thank you, Quinn! I, as the leader of the Glee Club", Mercedes fake-coughed behind her hand, before Rachel went on, "would like to greet you from the New Direction's girls, since we're all convinced, that you will pass your audition."

"I don't know, maybe", Kurt told her in a quiet voice, a little intimidated by the small brunette.

"Don't worry, we practically take everyone", Mercedes waved it away.

"Everyone? How many are you guys?", Kurt looked at her with furrowed brows.

"About 17...", the curvy girl answered with confusion.

"Only?" Back in his hometown, there were about 20 people in the musical theater department, but it also was a club reserved for the people on the lower end of the food chain.

"Only? That's like so many. It's incredible", Tina exclaimed from behind Rachel, who was still holding her posture in the middle of the circle.

"But aren't you guys like cool?", Kurt wondered.

That brought him a loud laugh by most of the girls. "Are you nuts? We're happy, if we don't get slushied for a whole day!"

"Slushied?" Now Kurt was worried. At his old school, people used to call him names and from time to time someone shoved him into a locker, but that was rare, because even if many teachers didn't understand his sexuality, they didn't allow, that a student got hurt in front of their eyes and there was always someone in the halls.

"Yep. It's not nice, to say the least..."

"So, if you guys are so unpopular, how does it come, that footballers and cheerleader join?", Kurt still didn't know, how someone, who came from the top, could be part of a club, that, according to the members, got harassed everyday.

"We like singing, okay", Santana snapped, while swinging her pony tail, "and we know, how to kick someone's ass, who tries to cause trouble!"

"I don't", Brittany raised her hand with an innocent face, what made the latina pat her knee and whisper some stuff, only they could hear.

Kurt looked at his watch: "As lovely as this is girls, but if I don't get going right now, I will be late for class."

Some of the females repeated his action and quickly scrambled to their feet, trying to gather their stuff as fast as possible, before leaving a dumbstruck Kurt and a smirking Santana alone.

"Wow, that was hectic", Kurt laughed.

The cheerleader only shrugged, while re-crossing her tanned legs: "You normally get detention, if you come late and that means two awful hours with Mr. Brenning."

"Can you then please help me find my classroom?", he asked shocked.

"What class do you have?", Santana retreated, not looking up from her nails.

"Ugh", he ruffled through his bag, until he found his time table, "English AP with Ms. Swansen."

"Same. That means we're free. She's ill", the latina explained bored.

"You in an AP class?", Kurt gave her an incredulous look.

"Why is that so hard to believe? Only because I'm hot, I can't be smart? Isn't that a little bit hypocritical?", she winked.

He actually laughed out loud at this, but it wasn't cruel. He learned step by step, why the other's were friends with her. As everyone else, she was special in her own way, but at the same time lovable for her unique features. He started to like the cheerleader, because he knew only by talking to her for at most not even an hour, that he could trust her. She was honest, even if it meant saying something hurtful. But you know, what they say: A true friend stabs you from the front.

He then sat down, nudging her in the side: "So, you and Brittany, huh?"

Her eyes went wide and her lips tightened: "Excuse me?"

"Oh come on", he grinned, "I have awesome gaydar and you nearly killed me with your stares for taking up her attention yesterday. So?"

She rolled her brown eyes, but with a playful smile: "Secret against secret?"

"Sure, why not", Kurt shrugged, "if it stays a secret."

"That's the deal. We don't spill on each other in fear the other would do. And yes, Britt and I sometimes get our ladytime on." Her eyes softened in thought of her friend, but when they focused back on Kurt, there was a dangerous glint in them: "So are you a virgin?"

"Why is this the big secret you're so interested in?", Kurt blushed.

She smirked: "Blaine likes virgins. Kinda turns him on or something. I don't understand the appeal in someone, who doesn't know what he's doing, but I also never had guy on guy sex."

"Are you something like Blaine's wingman - wingwoman?", Kurt asked, turning to a deep scarlet red by now, being not used to this kind of conversation, but feeling easy with the girl beside him.

"And vice versa", she smirked, "so are you? And don't worry, I just trusted you with my biggest secret, 'cause I for some strange reason actually like you, that means my lips are sealed."

"Yes, I am", Kurt admitted and he was proud of it. His dad always told him to not throw himself around like he doesn't matter and Kurt thought not much of sleeping around, only to soothe your hormones.

He licked his lips in thought, before asking his next question: "Are you in fear?"

"Again: Excuse me?"

"Are you in fear to come out?"

The cheerleader looked at her lap, where her fingers curled around a thin silver bracelet: "I guess. To be in Glee club is one thing, but coming out is a whole different level."

"You know, you can talk to me, when you want to know more or just feel like talking?"

She was silent for another minute, not meeting his eyes, until she smirked: "Enough of the lady talk, Hummel! Let's go light something on fire!"

"No way, Santana. We can't do that", Kurt shrieked.

"Relax, I was just joking", she laughed.

*****

After hanging out with Santana some more, who taught him about the most important persons, that were to know at the school, a tiresome Algebra course and an hour of French, Kurt stepped through the doors into the noisy cafeteria.

He immediately spotted Rachel waving at him in enthusiasm. He sighed about her behaviour, but made his way over anyways, while trying not to stumble and fall over one of the countless bags, laying on the floor.

He sat down next to Mercedes, while Finn tried to explain one of his bad jokes, that, for a good reason, no one ever understood, what turned out to be way funnier, than the thing itself.

Kurt loved this. Sitting around with a bunch of people, enjoying themselves, without caring, if their friends will judge them for saying something stupid. He got to know the dynamics behind the New Directions and was fascinated by it.

Futher, he met another two members: Artie, a boy in a wheelchair, who told them about an independent movie, he was currently planning and Nick, who was settled down opposite of Kurt, pressed between Jeff and Wes.

The conversation was easily flowing with people talking over each other and from time to time throwing food, until suddenly everyone went quiet. Kurt wanted to ask, what was wrong, when he noticed, that everyone was staring at something behind him and turned around.

Standing there, flagged by Santana and Brittany, was Blaine with an unreadable expression. When no one said anything, Quinn gave the badboy a little smile: "Hey, Blaine. Nice to see you again."

The teen chuckled and plopped down on the bank, with his side pressing into Kurt's, while the cheerleaders made their way over to sit on the other end of the table.

To Kurt's surprise, in the next moment, everyone started talking again, as if nothing happened, what made him raise his eyebrows at them.

"Here." Kurt was startled by the soft voice coming from his side and found Blaine starring at him with hesitant eyes, while holding out a sandwich: "Eat something. And this is better than the stuff, they sell here."

Kurt gave the boy a suspicious look, but took the food with a small "thanks", because Blaine was right. He had told Carole, that he would just pick something up in the cafeteria, but even the salad looked unattractiv to him and his stomach was hurting by now.

"What class do you have next?", the other teen asked, still in barely above a whisper.

Kurt again had to search his bag for the little paper with his time table. "Biology, and then I can go home", he smiled, being reliefed to have his first day at school over soon.

Blaine nodded absently, until a smirk formed on his face: "Do you have something planned today?"

Kurt only starred at the boy, way too surprised for his brain to form a response that didn't consist of unlogical brabbeling. "N-no?", Kurt finally stuttered with his breath hitching. Could this be reality? Could Blaine really want to do something with him? Like a date maybe? Because there was no doubt, that he was gay after their encounter yesterday. But why should someone like this heartbreakingly gorgeous boy beside him take interest in him?

"Good, I'll pick you up after school." With that the teen stood up, getting curious glances by the New Directions and headed outside, leaving a confused Kurt behind.

****

Thanks to Blaine, Kurt couldn't even remember the name of his Biology teacher, left alone, what the man was trying to teach him.

Now, without the teen pressed against him, his brain could finally work propperly, what made him question his deciscion to meet up with Blaine.

Sure, since yesterday, Kurt had spend day and night remembering the other boy's face and body and wondering how those soft lips would feel on his and how his hands - okay, enough.

Because there was also a downside to the whole thing, that Kurt didn't think about in the heat of the moment during lunch.

Even if their conversation today was nice and innocent, he still remembered what Blaine had said the other day. That, he could and had already excused, but it wasn't the only thing making him feel uneasy.

It was also, what Santana had told him earlier about Blaine liking virgins, what led Kurt to the conclusion, that the teen was already envolved with enough guys, if he had a favor. A stinging ached his heart at the thought, what was kinda stupid, considering, that he met the boy not 24 hours ago.

Otherwise, Kurt had only recently broken up with his boyfriend and he wasn't the kind of type to move on this quickly.

It was only the fact, that he convinced himself, that maybe Blaine's intentions were purely platonic and that maybe he could get a friend out of this, what made him go in the end.

End Notes: I wanted to add, that Santana already came to terms with herself and Brittany, most of the glee club knows as finn said sometime in season 3 and that Kurt only "called her out" on it, because they were alone and not to be cruel. Only to clarify that.
