"Blaine. No way, are you serious?"
The terror in Kurt's voice was palpable, he'd like to avoid this situation as much as he could thank you very much. They got up early that morning, Blaine promising to show him the sunrise and how beautiful it was watching it on the beach and he didn't disappoint. Kurt wanted to sleep in but Blaine practically pushed him out of bed and helped him get dressed.
Anderson even wore jeans, "Because it's kind of cold outside already" he said. Kurt just followed his lead and there they were on the beach, the sun already shining brightly over them, with Kurt sitting between Blaine's legs and leaning his back on Blaine's chest. Blaine was supporting both of their weight with his arms firmly planted on the soft sand.
"Yeah. Why not?" Blaine grinned sheepishly, already sitting up and moving Kurt with him. Kurt sat rooted on the sand, unmoving.
"No." Kurt held his ground.
Blaine pouted, "Aww, come on Kurt. It'll be fun." He tried to convince him with his well-practiced puppy dog eyes. Kurt shook his head at him.
"It'll be freezing. I'd just stay here and watch you get yourself wet." Kurt said. He saw Blaine bite his lip to keep from commenting something perverted at what he said. "Don't you dare." He warned.
Blaine held his hands up in mock surrender. "I didn't even say anything." He defended himself. "Fine, I'll go by myself." Blaine said, slowly standing up and letting Kurt tear himself away from him. Blaine kneeled in front o Kurt, "You're gonna miss out on the fun." He winked.
"Yeah, I'll be the judge of that." Kurt played along with him. Blaine shrugged, briefly kissing Kurt on the forehead before running off towards the shore. Kurt had to bite the inside of his cheeks to keep his face from breaking in half if he smiled too wide; he always found it a bit intimate every time Blaine kisses him on the forehead. It was stupid, he knew that, especially since they've already slept together but still besides saying his name and making love to him, it was the most intimate thing Blaine can does to him.
Kurt snapped out of his fangirling when he saw Blaine stripping a few paces in front of him, screaming as he threw his shirt to the side and ran towards the sea. Blaine let out a loud screech as his belly touched the clearly freezing water. Kurt openly laughed as he saw Blaine let out a huge breathy scream, trying to warm himself up.
Blaine took in a deep breath and submerged his whole being into the water, effectively shaking off the cold. He emerged on the surface a few minutes later, gasping for air. He shook his head, vaguely aware of his now curly locks as he waved a hand at Kurt.
"Come on! It's awesome!" Blaine shouted at a smiling Kurt. His boyfriend just raised both eyebrows at him, treating him like the little brother he never had. Blaine rolled his eyes and continued swimming.
Kurt just sat back and relaxed under their umbrella, whipping out his phone to finally text his friends and a few colleagues to let them know he's alive. It was Alex who replied first, telling him to get his ass back to Los Angeles as quick as he can. 'I'll be there on Halloween. I promise.' He typed back.
He exchanged a few texts with Rachel, telling her everything that happened (leaving out the amazing sex that happened the previous night). Rachel was beyond excited to see them both and she was complaining about how fat James was going to be when Kurt gets back from his vacation. Reading a text about James brought a smile to Kurt's lips; the cat has indeed gained weight after being with him for—Oh my god, Alex's birthday is coming up. James too.
How could he forget? That's why Alex wanted me to be back already. Crap.
Kurt peeked at what Blaine was doing and he saw him walking on the shore towards a big rock on the side, probably finding some interesting stuff. He couldn't help but admire his boyfriend's glorious back; his shoulder blades, the line of his spine and the dimples just above his butt cheeks. He unconsciously licked his lips and had to slap his face a few times to get over it. For a moment, all his thoughts of how to tell Blaine about his newfound realization flew out the window.
He stood up slowly, his phone camera ready as he sneaked a good shot of Blaine dillydallying on the beach. Kurt managed to snap one even if it was so low-quality but what the heck, who cares? He giggled as he made his way back to the umbrella, resolving to showing the world who he's got with him right now.
It's about time the internet had proof that they were, indeed, together.

Kurt threw his phone at the blanket on the sand and was just about to sit down to bask in the comfort of it when a pair of strong and wet hands grabbed him from behind.
His breath hitched as Blaine's cold body came in contact with his. Eyes shut tight, Kurt shivered in the cold. "Blaine Anderson! Get away from m—"
"No can do, baby." Blaine teased, hugging him tighter. "You took a photo of me, didn't you?" Blaine laughed. "As a punishment for your sneaky attitude, you'll come join me in the water."
Kurt practically got dragged on his feet to the water, his constant screams of protest landing on deaf ears as Blaine just laughed.
"Stop manhandling me!" Kurt protested which made Blaine stop. For a moment, Kurt thought he finally gave up but he was surprised when he felt Blaine's breath over his ear, Kurt shivered which, he was pretty sure, had nothing to do with the cold.
"You didn't mind me manhandling you last night." Blaine seductively whispered, biting Kurt's earlobe while he was at it.
Blaine heard Kurt squeak and it was the perfect moment; Kurt had no idea just how close they were to the water. One moment he was on the sand, the other he was soaking wet and cold with Blaine joining him instantly, clinging onto him like some jellyfish.
"You're...such an..." Kurt tried to say through chattering teeth. "...asshole." He finally finished, pushing Blaine's face away from him.
"I'm sorry." Blaine apologized half-heartedly with a grin on his face, not letting go of Kurt. "Kiss?" He asked, trying his hard to be cute. Kurt narrowed his eyes at him, not replying. "Oh come on, it's free." Blaine pouted with his eyes closed.
Kurt rolled his eyes and finally planted his lips on Blaine's lightly. He felt Blaine smile and it wasn't long until they were neck-deep in the water, making out and successfully fighting off the cold. Kurt never thought making out in the beach would be this sexy or arousing.
But all their thoughts of taking it further (as much as they can while submerged in the water) got drowned out when they both heard a whistle coming from the shore. At first, Blaine chose to ignore them but by the third time and when someone already called him by name, he finally pulled away from Kurt.
"I'm sorry, they're trained cockblockers." Blaine commented, Kurt just chuckled. Blaine planted one last kiss on Kurt's lips before turning his attention towards the offenders.
"Enough making out! You'll drown yourselves!" Jeff shouted with Nick standing arms crossed next to him, a hint of amusement in both of their faces. Clearly, they haven't seen Blaine being like this before.
Blaine and Kurt left the water, finally feeling the cold wind and both of them shivering because of it. Kurt ran to get towels while Blaine stayed back to talk to his friends.
"To what do I owe this displeasure?" Blaine joked, gratefully accepting the towels from Kurt. Both of them wrapped it around themselves as they stood on the sand.
Jeff shrugged, "We were just checking if you were still alive, you didn't show your ass at the restaurant for two days. We were worried." He said.
Blaine smiled gratefully, "Well, I'm fine. Better than fine actually."
"Yeah, we noticed." Nick nodded his head towards Kurt and Blaine's smile widened at that. He couldn't wait to introduce Kurt to his friends here.
"Guys, you know Kurt." Blaine started with a huge smile, Jeff and Nick nodded. "Kurt, these idiots are Jeff," Jeff saluted, "And Nick." Nick waved a bit. Kurt smiled at them both.
"Hello. It's nice to meet you." Kurt politely said.
"It's nice to finally meet you too." Nick said with a grin. "So, does this mean you won't be moping around anytime soon?" Nick asked Blaine.
Blaine kicked sand over to Nick while the other man roared with laughter, Kurt turned his attention to Blaine. "You moped around?" He asked curiously.
Blaine turned to him, blushing. "Hey, you weren't the only one who was sad over it." He didn't even try to defend himself or hide it to which Kurt was grateful. At least both of them really did suffer and learn from it.
"Well, anyway, we came here to kidnap your boyfriend. He still have some stuff to take care of. About the Halloween party?" Jeff explained and Kurt nodded in understanding. Blaine had a sudden surge of idea.
"Hey, why don't we let Kurt join in? He's got a shit ton of ideas when it comes to party planning. He planned my birthday once." He proudly said. Jeff and Nick seemed to find it such a good idea.
However, Kurt was concerned, not only did this mean that they won't be making it in time for Alex's birthday but it also meant that people might know where they were; he threw Blaine a worried glance. "Blaine." Kurt started, catching Blaine's attention and his boyfriend caught up with what he was hinting, at least one of them.
Blaine turned back to his friends. "But can we keep it low key? We don't want people figuring out that he's here." He told them.
Nick nodded, "Of course. It's a small town and we'll keep our mouths shut."
"And our phones." Jeff winked.
Kurt visibly sagged in relief. Blaine enveloped an arm around him, running his hand up and down Kurt's arm. "Great, we'll meet you at Breadstix."
"Awesome. See you later. Nice meeting you Kurt." Jeff said, dragging Nick with him and away from the lovebirds.
Blaine and Kurt watched them walk away, glad that they were easy enough to talk to about Kurt's secrecy and thankful that they didn't treat Kurt like he was some royalty that didn't belong in their company. When Jeff and Nick were out of view, they made their way back in the house.
"You've got good friends." Kurt finally commented, reaching out to hold Blaine's hand. He smiled at him. "At least you were in good hands while you were moping around." Kurt teased.
Blaine lifted an eyebrow at him, "I'm pretty sure you were in good hands when you were moping around too."
"Barely. They gave me hell." Kurt said in passing, not stopping to think of his words. Blaine stopped in his tracks, making Kurt abruptly stop too. "What?"
Blaine stared at him, "When you say 'they', does that include...?" He let his question hang in the air and Kurt instantly knew what he was talking about and he was conflicted for a moment, silence falling between them.
He didn't want to lie to Blaine but he also didn't want Blaine to fight with his friends back home. Kurt paused for a moment, he knew Blaine would see right through him anyway even if he lied so he chose to be silent. And just as he thought, Blaine clenched his fist.
"Oh I'm going to kill them all." Blaine hissed under his breath. Kurt quickly came to distract him.
"Hey, hey. They were just looking out for you and they were pretty mad at me for what I did, so you can't blame them." Kurt tried to reason out but Blaine was pissed at the moment that it wasn't getting through.
"I told them to look after you while I was gone. Did they?" Blaine asked which surprised Kurt. It must've showed on Kurt's face and that surprise confirmed that his friends didn't do what he asked. "They didn't. Those asses." Blaine said.
Kurt cupped Blaine's face on both hands, forcing his eyes to look at him. "Hey, it's okay. They were pissed, I understand."
"But that doesn't excuse them for being an asshole to you. I thought you guys were all friends already." Blaine pointed out, clearly disappointed at his group of friends.
Kurt sighed, "Well, you can't be angry at all of them. To be fair, I was always in contact with Mike and Tina 'cause they genuinely didn't know where you were and they kept telling me that I will find you, eventually." He smiled.
"But Wes and Sam, those little shits. I knew it." Blaine sighed, finally letting go of his anger. "Well, I'll get back on them when we get home. They better be ready." He said.
"I'm sure they will. Now come on, I'm freezing out here and it's entirely your fault." Kurt slapped Blaine's butt lightly before running off to the house for a change of clothes. Blaine laughed and ran after him.
They all stared at the sketch, dumbfounded and amazed while Blaine was just admiring the triumphant look on Kurt's face. Kurt had just drew a sketch of what BreadstiX should look like on the pre-Halloween party and what it should look like on the kids' Halloween party. He made his designs in under an hour with full detail and they were all just amazed.
"What did I tell you?" Blaine started, breaking the silence and everyone internalized what Kurt just told them to do.
"Blaine, you can leave now. We'll keep your boyfriend from now on." Julia, one of the personnel in Breadstix that was assigned for the decorations, told Blaine. "I think I'm in love with you, Kurt." She said, attempting to hug Kurt but failing as Blaine stopped her from doing so.
"Stop trying to make him straight, he's mine." Blaine smiled, earning him a whack on the shoulder courtesy of Kurt.
"Well, can you do all this?" Kurt finally asked and everyone replied enthusiastically. He made it look and sound easy enough for them to accomplish. "Great, I'll help in any way I can." He said.
Nick pulled Blaine to the side at that and let Kurt talk to the designing team some more. "Thank god you brought him here, we've been dying to finalize designs for weeks." He said, Blaine nodded. "Anyway, how are you holding up?" Nick asked more seriously.
Blaine looked back at Kurt and watched him talk animatedly to the women who were in charge of designs. "We're doing okay, I guess. We've patched things up, we just need to figure out how to work things out from here on. I mean, he's not always this free." Blaine explained, taking a sip of his water.
Nick stood beside him, watching Kurt as well. "Then why don't you just live with him if you're so concerned about it?" He said nonchalantly.
Blaine literally spat his drink out of his mouth at Nick's suggestion, coughing violently and earning curious and concerned looks from the people gathered in the meeting area. Kurt stared at him the longest, mouthing "are you okay?" with Blaine signing, "I'm fine".
"That is the most absurd idea I've ever heard in my life!" Blaine hissed, dragging Nick away from the meeting area to be sure that nobody was listening in on their conversation.
"But is it though? You've been dating for almost a year now, I think, if I remember your stories correctly. And what's so wrong about it? It's perfectly fine. I mean, even Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka moved in together after three months, right?" Nick pointed out, clearly having thought this out for his friend.
Blaine shrugged, finally sitting down on one of the stools and placing his cup of water with a louder thud than he expected. "It's not that easy." He lamely said.
"Why isn't it?" Nick asked.
"We just got back together, I think we should take things slow. I can't just walk up to him and say that I'd like us to live together from this day forward, are you insane?" Blaine reasoned out. He'd really prefer if they took things slow especially after what happened. Half of his brain was against it but the other half was agreeing to Nick.
Nick was right, it was kind of easy but the thing is, you can't just ask someone to live with you when you don't have anything to offer but your love. Kurt's house was the best of all the best and Blaine's apartment reeks of coffee and squeaks in every corner because of loose nails and floorboards, who would want that over something as great as The Pent?
But moving in together doesn't mean he moves in your apartment, you can move in to his.
But wouldn't that be a little weird? Blaine didn't want to come off as a good for nothing person who just lives with his celebrity boyfriend for his own convenience; maybe he could pay rent? Ugh, that beats the whole 'living together' thing, stupid. He shook his head violently. He's actually contemplating about it! Damn Nick and his big, stupid mouth.
"Well, I still think it'll be better if you two just live together. Don't you just want to wake up beside him every morning and sleep with him every night? I'm just saying." Nick pointed out.
Blaine pushed past him, not wanting to think this over or else he'll have a headache. "Shut up Nick. Don't put more ideas in my head." He paused and did a double take, "Speaking of ideas, I was thinking about something..." Blaine said as he engaged in a different conversation with Nick before walking over to Kurt though it was too late, he now had ideas planted in his mind and it's never going to go away any time soon.
The silence between them was deafening, the only sound filling their ears was the sound of the waves gently covering the shore up front. Kurt and Blaine had taken the liberty of occupying the umbrella table and having their dinner there, both mulling over different things and can't seem to find the words to open up the topic.
Kurt was wondering how he'd remind Blaine that the 20th is coming and it was Alex's birthday as well as James. Personally, he didn't have any problem with staying but a part of him wanted to celebrate the day in itself because it was practically the first day that they went out, just the two of them and that day held a special place in his heart. Meanwhile, Blaine was still trying to contemplate about what Nick said earlier that day, him thinking about it meant that Nick got through to him which made him want to tear the guy's balls off.
"So..."
Both of them started, blinking and catching each other off guard. Blaine laughed a bit at the situation, "We do think alike, don't we?" He commented and Kurt nodded in agreement.
"Like twins?"
Blaine cringed at the suggestion. "No, please don't do that. That's kind of gross and not to mention, incest." He honestly said. It was Kurt's turn to laugh this time at the ridiculousness of it all. Blaine brushed it off, "You were saying?"
Kurt stared blankly at him before remembering what he was going to ask earlier. "Oh, uhm, I just wanted to ask if you're doing something on the 20th?" Kurt said, not beating around the bush. It's okay for him to stay, after all, he did promise Blaine his company on the pre-Halloween party that will fall on the 25th but he just really wanted to do something on the 20th with him. Keeping his fingers crossed, he waited for Blaine's answer.
Blaine tapped his fingers on the table, examining a lone piece of pea on his plate and rolling it around. He looked up to gaze at Kurt who, he noticed, was quietly anticipating his reply. Kurt gave him a small smile, hoping that Blaine could see how he wanted to him to answer that he's free.
Blaine cleared his throat, "I think so, yeah. They've booked me to play at BreadstiX on that night. Why? Is something going on?" He asked innocently.
Kurt's jaw almost dropped as Blaine said this, maybe he was the only one who remembered. And to think that he always told me that I'm the one who forgets things. "Kurt?" He heard Blaine ask. Kurt perked up, shaking his head to hide his disappointment.
"Yeah?" Kurt distractedly said. Blaine gave him a look that Kurt doesn't quite get but nonetheless, he smiled. "I mean, that's great! Can I be there? I promise I won't be a bother." Kurt told Blaine and as he said it, it felt like Blaine was the actor and he was the fan.
Blaine reached out to hold his hand, thumb caressing Kurt's palm. "I'd love it if you're there and Kurt, you're never a bother." He said, making Kurt smile in the process.
"I don't understand why you guys keep getting me to play. I just mess around a lot you know." Blaine joked with the patrons of BreadstiX and all he got were answers such as "Because you're amazing!" and "no one does it better than you!" and "BreadstiX needs something different!".
Blaine smiled at them all, having played a few songs already. He glanced over to where Kurt was watching him silently in the corner of the diner, donning a pretty convincing disguise. His hair was flat but it was hidden in the hoodie he was wearing to hide his whole persona and his reading glasses was on so if you didn't look close enough, you wouldn't recognize him at all. It had been Blaine's idea to put him in one because "there are people who know you that's going to be there so, it's best if you stay safe, yeah?" And Kurt had agreed, if this was what he had to do to spend the day with Blaine then so be it. Also, it reminded him of that night at Chinatown, only with lesser loose clothing so it wasn't at all that bad.
Blaine fixed his tie a little bit and adjusted the strings of his guitar and put it aside, sitting down on the stool that was provided for him near the piano. Kurt saw him wink his way and all he could do was smile up at him. Blaine tinkled the ivories as he said his interlude.
"So, I've done requests and played your favorite songs." Blaine said with a smile, not stopping his piano interlude. "Now we've reached the point where I sing some songs for people." Blaine told them. Kurt listened as he continued, curious as to where this goes.
"You see, this time last year, I got a fortune cookie." Blaine started to say, smiling down at his hands as he remembered the events from the year before. "It said 'shoot for the moon! If you miss, you will still be amongst the stars'." He recalled clearly before looking towards the audience who were intently listening to every word he was saying. "Well I don't know about you but I think fortune cookies are really a wonder. I remember thinking then that I don't mind not reaching the moon as long as I can stay with the brightest star of them all."
Blaine's eyes landed on Kurt who was looking far too red for his own good; he gave him a small smile and a wink as Kurt continued to gape at him. "And from then on, the star has always been with me in both heart and mind." He continued. "So, here's a song that I've been working on that I want to share with you guys and to my very own star because no matter how far away we are from each other, I hope you'll still stay with me." Blaine finally said, directing his words to Kurt.
"This one's for you, Kurt. The song is called If You Stay." Blaine ended, smiling sincerely at Kurt which made everyone turn their heads towards the man. Kurt had to remember how to breathe as Blaine started his song, willing himself not to tear up in the process.
I was standing on the other side watching you leaving
I couldn't see you go
You know that I was so sincere when I said I need you here
'Cause this is your home now
You're the one my everything
If you stay you'll make me sing
-
I'll give you my life, I'll give you my heart
Nothing will ever come between us, ever come between us
Tonight, I'll show you the way
Just promise me that you'll, promise me that you'll stay
The song continued on and the audience started clapping to the beat as Blaine poured all his feelings in his performance. Kurt couldn't believe it, he thought he was the only one who remembered but alas, Blaine just loved to prove him wrong. Blaine is really something else and just looking at him at that moment made Kurt want to lunge at him and never let him go.
Once the song ended, Blaine looked up from the piano and gazed at Kurt. "Surprise." He mouthed and Kurt just gave him a bright smile. "That's it for tonight folks, thank you for sticking around. Let's welcome Colin to the stage ladies and gentlemen." Blaine introduced the next performer before waving and walking off stage and towards Kurt.
Kurt stood up, meeting Blaine halfway, his grin not leaving his face. "You seriously are the worst, ever. One moment you're making me feel bad and the other, you're surprising me with romantic stuff like this." Kurt commented, hitting Blaine painfully across the chest before throwing himself at him like a rag doll. "I love you so much." He whispered in his ear.
"I love you too and I'm glad you liked it." Blaine said, hugging Kurt back before letting him go and taking his hand to lead him out of BreadstiX. "You think I'd ever forget the night we went to Chinatown? Are you kidding? I couldn't go to sleep that night 'cause I got your number." Blaine honestly said as they made their way out.
Kurt chuckled at that. "You were such a fanboy."
"Still am." Blaine replied with a proud face that made Kurt burst into laughter. "Oh shut up, I know you like it." Blaine told him and Kurt nodded. "Speaking of which, did you like the song just now?" He asked seriously, worried. Kurt squeezed his hand tightly.
"I loved it and you say you're not a romantic." Kurt said in disbelief. "Thank you. I thought you only wrote about my chest and about cats." Kurt teased, remembering their past conversations clearly.
"I do have something about your chest and about cats. You gotta wait for it, it'll win a Grammy!" Blaine played along, laughing his heart out. "Oh man, Alex and James will be pissed when we get home tomorrow. We missed their birthdays." He blurted out.
Kurt came to an abrupt stop, pulling Blaine back with him. "Tomorrow?" He asked. "I thought we were going to the pre-Halloween party?"
Blaine looked at him as if he was scolding him by merely staring. "I cancelled. Kurt, please, I know you want to go home. Don't hide it from me, okay? And I've arranged a plane already so..."
"Blaine..."
Blaine stopped him from saying anything more. "Our conversation skills are really rusty. If you want to tell me something, say it, I don't mind. We've got to work on talking because that's what got us before, right?" He reasoned out. Kurt stared at him long enough before he sighed.
"You're right." Kurt agreed as they continued walking towards the house. "But you're holding something out from me too, spill." He said honestly and Blaine was taken aback.
"Although our observation skills are definitely perfect and polished." Blaine commented before sighing. How the hell was he supposed to tell Kurt about what Nick told him. Kurt was waiting, Blaine knew he was so when they came upon the doorstep of Blaine's grandparents' house, he pulled him to a stop. "I didn't want to tell you because we just got back together and I'm..."
But before Blaine could even finish his sentence, Kurt was already babbling. "Oh my god, are you breaking up with me again? Did you just put me in a false sense of happiness before dumping me and leaving me forever? Oh my god I knew it! I saw an episode like this one on..."
"Kurt..."
But Kurt continued babbling about a reality show that Blaine never had the pleasure to watch and the only thing he needed to do was to shake Kurt by the shoulder to calm him down. "Kurt!" Blaine repeated a little loudly. Kurt snapped out of his monologue to properly look at Blaine.
"I'm not breaking up with you, geez. I'll be nuts if I do that." Blaine said.
"Then, what?" Kurt asked curiously, calming down. Blaine sighed, he had to say it after all or Kurt will get mad as hell. Talking, he had to talk. He took a deep breath, gazing deep into Kurt's eyes.
"What do you think about moving in together?"
