Author's Notes:

I wanted to say thank you again to everyone who has read, followed, favorited and/or left comments on this story. I have loved writing it and it was you who kept me going :)

Kurt leaned against the wall of the building casually sipping his coffee. He looked down at his watch. He had a few more minutes to wait and plenty of time before he needed to meet with Blaine and the wedding planner to iron out some questions about their venue. Now that the spring semester was over he had all summer to plan the big day and they had finally found a date that worked for both Cooper and Rachels busy schedules.

Kurt knew hed be a little swamped this summer between wedding planning, his new internship and the dreams he was still having. But it was a good kind of swamped.

Hed applied for the intern position with a small up and coming design house months ago, but when he didnt hear back he was sure he didnt get it, he was only in his first year at FIT after all. But then just as he was deciding he should just get a summer job at a coffee place or something he got a letter back asking if hed join them as their summer intern with the possibility of staying on when his classes started up again in the fall.

He and Blaine had been so excited theyd jumped around in the living room with Kurt holding the letter above his head. Finn and Rachel had celebrated with them by taking them out to a big fancy dinner.

So he did have other things to think about besides the wedding, but honestly that was paramount in his mind at almost all times. It was going to be perfect. No matter what they planned it would be perfect because at the end of the day hed and Blaine would be married, but still he was taking great joy in planning the all of the details.

He looked down at his phone as it buzzed. It was a text from Blaine.

Hows saving the world going?

Kurt rolled his eyes fondly; Blaine was always talking about what Kurt did like he was some kind of superhero. Kurt couldnt see himself that way, but still it was incredibly endearing when Blaine talked like that. Or when Kurt got home from going out to stop one of his dreams coming true and Blaine would meet him in the apartment with a smitten look on his face and press him up against the wall and kiss him until he couldnt think straight. Yeah, that was nice.

Right on schedule. Kurt texted back taking a sip of his coffee. Ill see you soon.

Kurt rubbed his thumb over the ring on his left hand. Even after months of wearing it the sight still made his heart flutter, it was his constant connection with Blaine and that was enough to make him smile like a fool whenever he really stopped to look at it.

He couldnt imagine how life could get any better than it was. His career looked like it was getting a good start and his nightmares had morphed more into visions and less frightening dreams. He still had moments he woke up in a cold panic, but he was getting better. Most importantly he was marring the love of his life

He glanced back down at his watch. It was time. He threw his finished coffee cup into a nearby trashcan and pocketed his phone. He slipped his hands into his pockets and strode over to the street corner. A teenaged girl in a flowered skirt and bright colored sunglasses walked up, talking animatedly on the phone and not even noticing Kurt.

Just at that moment a big flatbed truck took a tight turn too fast and the one of the restraints holding its cargo snapped. A huge concrete drainage pipe rolled off the back of the truck. But Kurt wasnt worried; hed been waiting for this. Kurt gently grabbed the girl by her elbow and tugged her back a few feet on the sidewalk. He reached out a hand and without anyone noticing pushed the pipe away from them without touching it. The heavy pipe missed them by a foot and crashed to a stop nearby with a loud bang, but without hurting anyone.

There was a moment of stillness and then everyone started moving and shouting the girl turned to look at Kurt her mouth hanging open. She slowly slid her sunglasses up her head.

"Oh my god!" He said and then to the person on the phone "I... Ill call you back." She looked at Kurt with wide eyes. "You just saved my life!"

By now the truck driver was out of his vehicle and many other people were gathering around gawking. The incident was drawing a crowd and when Kurt was on one of his missions he didnt do crowds. He didnt want that kind of attention.

He just smiled at the girl and gave her a little wink. "Happy to do it." Before turning and walking away.

The girl was distracted for a moment by the truck driver asking her if she was okay, by the time she looked up for Kurt again hed be well on his way, with just enough time to make it to his appointment.

Kurt smiled and let out a small gratified laugh walking coolly away from the scene of the almost catastrophe as if it was just an everyday occurrence for him. Really, that wasnt far from the truth, he didnt know when all of this had started feeling normal, but it was a very good feeling. He was saving people and he was content and in love and enjoying every minute of the incredible second chance life had given him.

A text message from Blaine buzzed again.

Love you and see you soon future husband.

Kurt smiled so hard his cheeks hurt as he shot a quick text back.

I love *you*future husband.

Kurt didnt care if he looked like an idiot blushing and smiling down at his phone, he was happy.
