Morning!
I’m sorry, I am going to be short with you this morning. I am about to have a meeting with my dad at our company in less than an hour and I’m already running late. But Jack told me I couldn’t leave the house without sending you an e-mail. So, here I am. Sitting at my dining table, typing this e-mail while fixing my suit and tie, making breakfast and feeding jack. He gets real grumpy if I don’t feed him on time, you know. And also if I don’t do what he says. He’s a real boss.
Oh shit.. I’m running out of time, I just spilled by orange juice on my shirt. I’m so clumpsy. I’m sorry, I have to go, fix my shirt, run downstairs, catch the subway and hope my dad won’t kill me for being late.
I promise I’ll e-mail you later today!
Blaine closed his laptop, ran to his walk-in closet to get a new dress shirt while grumbling about himself being the clumpsiest person on the earth. He said goodbye to Jack and run down the stairs. Luckily he was just on time for the subway and made it on time to his office at Nero headquaters down Victoria Embankment.
“Blaine” He heard his fathers friendly voice.
“Morning dad” He smiled at his father. Blaine loves his dad, they get along very well. He is always very supportive and understanding.
“Glad you’re here, come in.”
Alexander Anderson was holding the door to his office. Blaine admired the view from his fathers office, he always did. Not that his own office had a bad view. Absolutely not. But he just loved how far you could look, all over the Thames. He could just drift off in his thoughts really easy with such a view..
“So, what’s up dad? You sounded pretty excited on the phone yesterday.”
“Yes. Well Blaine, you know we’re going really strong. Nero is the fastest growing coffeeshop in London. Last month we opened 2 new shops at Oxford Street and Picadilly Circus. And since we’ve choses to not only serve coffee but also cupcakes, pie and sandwiches, we are doing even better.”
Blaine smiled. He loved that their company was doing so well.
“So, the great news is..” his dad continued. “We’re going to open 3 more stores this and next month!”
“Dad, that’s amazing!” Blaine smiled like crazy and hugged his dad. “I’m so happy we’re doing so well! I have amazing ideas for these new stores!”
Blaine’s job is to think about how to make their stores even better and more customerfriendly, which products they should sell where, think about the furniture, decoration and make sure to make the customers feel at home in every shop. Like they went home for a cup of coffee and enjoyed the fireplace or to read the newspaper. He loved it. Paperwork was never his thing. He loved going out, visiting all the shops and think of new ideas.
His dad let him go, went for a bottle of Jack Daniels in his liquor cabinet. “This deserves a little celebration”, holding up the bottle and two glasses.
“Dad, it’s way to early for that!” He laughed. His dad liked a drink at the time.
“Oh right... I forgot it’s only ten in the morning...” He laughed putting the bottle and glasses back. “Well, then you have to comeback at 4 and then we’ll celebrate.”
“I will, dad! Can I ask where these new shops will be located?”
“One will be on Bakerstreet close to Regents Park, the second will be at Tottenham Courtroad close to the Dominian Theatre.” His dad smiled. “And the last one will be on the corner Colville Terrace and.. Portobello Road.”
Blaine’s smile dropped immediatly.
Kurt...
Kurt got home late that evening. It had been a busy day and he was really tired. When he opend the frontdoor he expected Sam to be home, but when he yelled “I’m hoooooome.” there came no reaction. He must be out or something Kurt thought. He walk towards the kitchen to start on fixing some fast healty diner. He really didn’t have the energy to cook. When he flicked on the light in the kitchen, he saw a note on the table.
Out with Artie, Finn and Noah! Back late. X
That means I have the house to myself tonight, just what I need, he thought. He fixed some sort of salad and walked to the bathroom, filling the bathtub with hot water and bubbles. Then he went searching for candles and some incense. After putting on all the candles and giving the bathroom a nice smell thanks to the incense, he went back for his musicboxes and iPod. Plugged them in and searched for his ‘relax’ playlist.
While Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know sounded through the appartment he went to his room, undressing and softly singing the lyrics, taking the latest Vogue of his nightstand and walk to the tub.
When he sat down he let the water hug all of his body. Kurt loved to relax in the bathtub. It made him feel reborn. He let his mind wander over the last few days and it stuck with the pretty man in his shop yesterday. Those eyes had been hunting him all night and day. He had been hoping the man would return today. But sadly he didn’t show..
Kurt knew he should let it go and don’t make such a fuzz about someone he just met for 15 minutes and might not even be gay, single or interested at all. Not even sure he would ever see him again..
After 2 hours the water got cold and Kurt left the tub, blowing the candles out and putting on his bathrobe. He didn’t feel like getting dressed since he was planning on going to bed withing the next 2 hours..
He set down on the couch about to put on the television when his eyes fell on his laptop.
I didn’t check my e-mail, what if JD send an e-mail? went through his mind
He got up quickly starting up his laptop and hearing the lovely sound.
*PLING*
He read the e-mail laughing about him talking about his dog and the fact that he spoiled his shirt.
Everytime Kurt read an e-mail about him, he let his mind wander... What his real name is, where in London he lives, how old he is, if he likes theater or cupcakes, what kind of job he has and ofcourse what he looks like, if he is tall or short, if he had broad shoulders or a beautiful smile. What kind of clothes he wears and if he has beautiful eyes..
At the thought of beautiful eyes his mind took him back to Blaine. Those amazing honey and fudge coloured eyes that sparkeled like sunshine.....
He shook himself from his daydream and started typing.
It was 5.30 pm when Blaine left his father’s office after their little celebration. But it wasn’t a real celebration to Blaine. All day long he didn’t stop thinking about Kurt..
He knew that if their Nero store opened at Portobello Road it would mean no good to Kurt’s shop. People would choose the thing they already know instead of going in to that cute little pastry shop. But it wasn't Blaine's place to prevent it.. His dad was responsible for all such things. Blaine was responsible, for as he called it, the fun stuff.
Without thinking Blaine took the subway to Notting Hill Gate, that would lead him to Portobello Road and Kurt’s shop.. His heart beating in his chest during the subwayride. When Blaine left the subway, he walked until he was on the sidewalk across the street from the shop.
He stopped.
Suddenly forgotten where he was going, he stood still. Staring towards the shop where Kurt just came out and was lowering the safety hatch. He watched him chatting, smiling and saying goodbye to two girls who left the shop with him, closed his jacked and then he started walking in Blaine’s direction.
On impulse Blaine turned around and made sure Kurt wouldn’t see him.
When he turned again, Kurt had disapeared.
Now what, he thought to himself. You’re such a coward, Blaine.
Then he realised. He was going to tell Kurt about the new shop that was coming, that it would infect his business and that Blaine was the owner of the company causing this trouble. That he thought that Kurt should know and that he wanted to ask him out on a date. Take him to a theatre. Have a nice dinner. Tell him he has amazing eyes and a beautiful smile. Take a walk through Hyde Park with Jack. Cuddle him on the sofa. Spend the night with him....
Yes. Blaine never believed in love at first sight until it was throwed in his face in the form of a man with beautiful blue eyes and a box of flour.
