Kurt wakes at the sound of his alarm. 7 AM. He opens his curtains and smiles. it’s a beautiful spring morning in London. He takes a shower, puts on some clothes and walks towards the kitchen to make some coffee. He starts up his laptop and while doing so he walks to Sam’s room and takes a quick peak. Good, his friend is still asleep. He runs back to his computer and opens his mailbox. He turns around to get his coffee when he hears his favorite sound.

*PLING* - One new e-mail.

With a bright smile on his face, Kurt opens the e-mail.

Subject: Jack Daniels

I apologize for giving an e-mail at this time of the day the subject Jack Daniels. Hopefully you don’t think I’m an alcoholic and completely waisted or something. The truth is I woke up early this morning, the sunlight shining through my window. I thought it has to be a beautiful day, so I woke up Jack. You see, Jack is my best friend. He’s always home and incredibly lazy. He spends every day just lying around and sleeping. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be him. But... then I wouldn’t be able to send you this e-mail. Because Jack is my dog. He’s a Golden Retriever. His name is Jack Daniels to precisly, I like the wiskey and I’m a big fan of Jack Sparrow. So that explains this e-mail’s subject and my dog’s name.

So, Jack and I walk through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park every morning and enjoy the quietness and peace at early dawn. The sun shining through the trees and birds singing. Don’t you just love London in the spring?

Kurt smiles. Yes, London is beautiful in the spring. He hears a noise down the hall and sees Sam walking towards the bathroom. He looks at the clock, 07:30 AM, he quickly writes an e-mail back.

Subject: Beautiful morning

I’d like to start by telling you I don’t think you’re an alcoholic and you’re dog’s name is pretty cool actually! Funny fact is that I thought the exact same thing when I woke up this morning and also enjoyed the sunlight on my face. Just figure, we both enjoyed the same sunlight while thinking the exact same thing.

I also love London in the spring. I love how everybody is happy and friendly. How you can walk outside without having to wear a jacket, the fact that you can sit outside while drinking your coffee or simply walk to your work instead of taking the underground or a taxi because it’s raining. I love how the sun shines on every building, making it ten times prettier. Walking down the street and enjoying the smell of recently baked cupcakes and fresh coffee. Yes, spring in London is beautiful.

Kurt just hit the ‘send’ button when he hears a voice.

‘Morning! Checking you’re e-mail again?’ Sam walks into the kitchen, smiling.

‘Morning Sam’ Kurt closes his laptop and walks towards the coffee machine.
“Coffee?” He smiles. Deniying Sam’s question about the e-mail.

“Yes, thank you”.

Kurt makes coffee and while Sam’s making breakfast they talk about the day that’s coming. They almost finished eating when Sam suddenly asks “Aren’t you going to tell me ‘bout you and your e-mails?” Smiling like a dork.

“Nope.” Kurt smiles back. “And by the way, I have to get going. Have a great day, see you tonight. Byee Sam!”

Without another word Kurt leaves the appartment and a curious Sam. He walks down the streets towards his work. It’s a short walk from his appartment in Kensington to his little pastry shop in Notting Hill. He loves the fact that he can walk instead of having to take the underground or bus. A sign beside the road that says Kensington Gardens reminds him of the e-mail this morning. Kurt smiles at the thought that ‘he’ had walked here this morning.

He crosses the street and walks down Portobello Road as he turns left in to a smaller street and reads the sign ‘Just Around The Corner’ Rachel is sitting in front of the little shop and walks towards him. “Hi Kurt! Goodmorning!”

Kurt smiles  “Goodmorning Rachel!”  He opens the door, walks in and holds the door to Rachel. “Ready to do some serious baking today?”

“So, I’ll be back around 6. Sofie hasn’t showered yet, so could you please help her? And Bridget is still in her pj’s. Oh and are you staying for dinner tonight?”

“Hello? Earth to Blaine?” Cooper sighs. “Where are you with your head?”

Blaine turns his head away from the window. “Spring in London is beautiful.”

“Excuse me what?”

Blaine smiles. “He said he loved spring in London as well.”

“Oooh mister AppleCake?” Cooper laughs. “Now I understand where you were with your thoughts.”

“Shut up, Coop”.

“Shut up? Well excuse me, but if I didn’t make that beautiful profile for you on your 25th birthday last June you would’ve never ‘met’ him.’ He pokes Blaine and smiles.

“So, you know his real name yet?”

“No specifics. That was the deal. So no. But I did tell him about Jack and the fact that we walk through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park every morning.” Blaine smiles

“You’ve ‘known’ each other for over a half year now and share everything as longs as it is not to personal?”
Blaine nodds and walks towards the girls bedroom. He opens the door and immediatly gets jumped at by two little girls screaming his name. “Blaaaaaaaaaaine”

“Heeeey! How are my two favorite girls doing?” Blaine cuddles both of the girls and sits down on Sofie’s bed.

“So. What do you want to do today?”

“It’s wednesday, so there’s market on Portobello Road” Bridget screams. “Can we go there again? Can we go? They have all those cool stuff”

Blaine smiles at the enthousiasm of the little 8 year old girl. “Yeah, we could go there.”

Cooper walks in the room. “Hey girls, I’m leaving. Have a great day and be nice to uncle Blaine!” He kisses both of his daughters. “We always are, dad” Sofie says.

Cooper smiles and walks towards the hall, Blaine following. “Shall I make dinner tonight?” He looks at his older brother. “I think the girls are willing to help me make spaghetti or something”. Cooper smiles. “That would be great, and thanks again , Blaine”.

“No, problem Coop.”

Blaine watched his brother walking down the streets towards the underground and then turns around to go get Sofie and put her under the shower.

 “Come on, Soof. Gotta get you cleaned up. Bee put on some clothes, we’re going to have a busy day!”

Blaine helps his nieces in their clothes and makes them breakfast. An hour later they are ready to go and walking towards the underground that will take them to Notting Hill. In each hand he holds an extremely happy and excited girl.

Blaine loves hanging out with those two little girls. After they lost their mom 2 years ago, Blaine promised Cooper he’d help him with everything. And that’s why once a week Blaine takes the girls out and have some fun.

They walk past every stall and little shop. Three hours later the little girls are packed with some new toys, a pair of new shoes, balloons and they both got their faces painted into a butterfly by a lovely lady down the road. They are on their way back to the underground when they walk past a little coffee/pastry shop. What a cute shop, Blaine thinks to himself and takes a look inside.

“Blaine?”

“Whats up, Sofie?”

“Can we go in here? Don’t you think all those cakes look jummie?”

“Yes” Bee adds. “And look at that sign! There’s a cupcake workshop!”

“Oooh I want to make some!” Sofie says while jumping up and down.

“Aaaaah can we go in, Blaaaaaine?”

Blaine looks down at his nieces, completely excited and smiling bright. “Well......”

“Aaaaaaaa”

Blaine laughs. The girls are making the biggest puppydog eyes. My god, you really look like Cooper and me , he thinks to himself. Unable to resist. “Yes, let’s go!”

“Yaaaaaay” Both girls hug him to dead and they walk happily into the cute little shop.
