It was always the couch. Now that Blaine had gotten into his Senior Year at NYU, he had spent many a night up finishing papers and working through scenes and sheet music. After dinner, whether Kurt had gotten home or not, he liked to set up camp in the living room with all his assignments that were due in the next two days and work until he passed out: to be fair, it was a fairly efficient system, he maintained straight As up until this point. Kurt had been moving up the chain within Vogue, still working for the website, but now worked directly under Isabelle. While sometimes this meant logging quite a few more hours than his early years, he loved what he was doing and felt like everyone really appreciated his ideas and contributions. Besides, he had his wonderful boyfriend to come home to, so he always had a light at the end of the subway tunnel.

“Blaine, honey?” Kurt asked as he came in, pulling his bag strap over his head and placing it on the coat rack. He walked in to see him on the couch, surrounded by his books and notes. His head had tilted over to his shoulder and his breath was steady and calm. Kurt walked over to tidy up for him, placing index cards in the books to mark the pages he had open. When he had finally cleared the wreckage that was Blaine’s schoolwork, he crouched down in front of him, tugging gently at his hands. “Sweetheart, wake up. It’s 10:30. That’s bedtime.” Blaine blinked himself awake, smiling when he saw Kurt looking at him with his big, clear blue eyes. It only took a moment for him to sit up and reach for his books.

“I have a test tomorrow, and I haven’t even—“ Blaine insisted, but didn’t put up much of a fight when Kurt placed his hands up to stop him. “Kurt, I should—“

“As much as I appreciate your drive for learning, it won’t do you much good if you only get two hours of sleep. Come to bed, and I’ll set the alarm early so I can help you study over breakfast.” Kurt smiled softly, pulling Blaine up and leading to the bedroom. “Do you need help getting out of your clothes?” He teased when Blaine stumbled trying to pull his pants off.

“Don’t make fun of me, I’ve had a rough day.” With a long sigh, he attempted to pull his shirt over his head, but struggled when it caught on his chin.

“Aww, my poor baby.” Kurt poked again, pulling the shirt over Blaine’s head. “How about tomorrow morning we take a nice, warm shower together? And I can use the eucalyptus rub on your shoulders. How does that sound?”

“It sounds like you’re the best boyfriend ever.” Blaine responded as he slipped his arms around Kurt’s waist.

“Well, the best boyfriend ever has to get ready for bed, so get in and I’ll join you in a few minutes.” With a quick kiss on the cheek, Kurt walked into the bathroom. Somehow, Blaine ended up tucked under the covers, but still awake by the time he got back. Kurt slid right into Blaine’s arms, curling up against him.

“Hmm, I thought you would want to be the little spoon tonight.”

“I just wanted to hold you tonight.” Blaine said into Kurt’s hair, pressing a kiss on his head. “All night.”

“You’re such a romantic. When should I set the alarm for?”

“Never.”

“So you just want to sit here and miss your test?” Kurt asked, skeptical. “What happened to my devoted scholar?”

“Why couldn’t I major in loving my boyfriend? Because I’m really good at that. And studying is much more fun.” Blaine spoke into Kurt’s hair, kissing him between sentences.

“Hmm. You could always add a minor.” The little spoon mused as he played with the other’s fingers, twining them together with his.

“How was work?” He squeezed Kurt’s hand in his, sending a rush of butterflies through the both of them.

“Just as usual. My article on mid-century revival fashions goes up tomorrow at midnight. And then we’re working on something with this everyone is beautiful campaign Thursday, so we had to prep for that. It wasn’t particularly hectic, just a lot to do. How was school?”

“Really good. I actually got a 97 on my composition. Usually no one breaks 90. The TA was outraged.”

“Well you earned it. You gave up Sunday morning sex for that piece.” He giggled.

“Yeah, we only got to have sex twice on Sunday. I still have to make up for that.”

“Don’t worry about it, darling. We’ve been working ourselves to death. Just go to sleep.” Blaine tugged Kurt closer, deepening the indent of his hips to form into each other.

With a last goodnight kiss, Blaine whispered to Kurt: “You make me feel alive.”

End Notes: thank for eye-hear my words

right everyone uses the word TA when talking about americia colleges what are they, sorry i'm for England so have no idea

A TA is a teacher's assistant, usually its a grad student who gets paid to help the teacher with grading or teaching a class. Like in a Chem class of 50 students, a teacher would probably need a TA to help make sure that everyone was doing the experiment properly. It's standard in bigger universities and classes.
