Author's Notes: Thanks for sticking with me this long, life kind of got in the way, but my regular updating day will now be Sunday (except for now of course). Enjoy!
"Hello, is this Mr. Anderson?" the nurse asked over the telephone.
"No, this is one of his sons. May I help you?" Cooper asked.
"His son Blaine is in a coma." the nurse whispered, sadness in her voice.
"Where?" Cooper asked.
"500 South Cleveland Avenue, Westerville, Ohio. Saint Anns Hospital. Would you like the room number as well?" she asked the boy.
"Yes. I would." Cooper whispered through gritted teeth. He slammed his fist on the counter top as his eyes watered.
"Third floor, intensive care, room number 222." she said, and the line went dead.
Cooper rushed out to his car and sped all the way there.

"Could I just have a plain hot chocolate? That would be all." Kurt told the boy at the register. He walked to the machine and let hot water dispense into a cup. Mixing the powder in, he eyed Kurt up and down. Kurt took the cup from the boy and sat down in a booth. Sipping his warm drink, he looked down at the table.
“Are you alright?” the boy from the counter asked, sliding next to him in the booth.
“Yeah, fine, just a little sad, is all.” Kurt said, while his brain screamed “NO! I’m not fine, the boy I love is in a coma and he might not ever wake up again. I didn’t even get to tell him.”
“My name is Sebastian, if you need to talk, I am on break.” The boy said, putting an arm around Kurt. It felt... weird. Not bad, but not necessarily good either.
“Kurt. I have nothing to say.” He said, trying not to sound harsh.
“What school do you go to?” Sebastian pressed, his arm still around the boy.
“Dalton.” Kurt said. He wasn’t even thinking, but what did that matter?
“Is it good there? I was considering transferring, but I didn’t know if it was worth the work.” He told Kurt.
“It was pretty nice there.” Kurt lied. Although, it was kind of the truth, it was nice there until Blaine left.
“Oh. Okay, maybe I’ll be seeing you around sometime soon, then.” Sebastian whispered.
“Well, it’s time for me to go, so see you around, I guess.” Kurt said and got up, Sebastian getting up with him. The kid walked Kurt out, and then Kurt faced him.
“Thanks. Bye, Sebastian.” Kurt said, and Sebastian leaned into Kurt and pressed their lips together. Kurt didn’t want to, but his arms ran up Sebastian’s chest and around his neck, seemingly at their own accord. The taller boy put his hands on Kurt’s waist and deepened the kiss, pushing his tongue into Kurt’s mouth, who gasped at the sudden intrusion. Kurt’s fingers grabbed Sebastian’s hair, who groaned at the feeling and pulled Kurt flush against his chest.
“Oh god, Kurt.” Sebastian said, but it was muffled in Kurt’s mouth. Sebastian unwillingly pulled away and looked into Kurt’s eyes. He pulled something out and handed it to Kurt.
“Call me. My break is over.” Sebastian said, and he walked back into the caf. Kurt sat down on a bench and let tears flow out of his eyes. He did not just do that to Blaine. Blaine who is hurt so bad already. Blaine who might not even wake up.
He might not even wake up.
Kurt decided for now, he would live his life and deal with all of this when, and if, Blaine wakes up. For now, he would just drive home and go to sleep.

Cooper walked into the hospital room and looked at his baby brother.
“Blainers, why didn’t you call me? Huh, why?” his brother cried and sat in a chair. He remembered that night at the dance. His little brother had gotten badly beaten up and called him, just in time to be taken to the hospital and helped. But this time was different. His little brother might not wake up.
He might not wake up.
Cooper didn’t want to even think about the consequences. He just wanted his little brother back.
A couple miles away in Kurt’s house, he sat in his bed thinking. Maybe he should transfer to Dalton. He didn’t have Blaine anymore to help him deal with bullies. He walked down the stairs, and found his dad.
“Dad, I was thinking. I kind of want to transfer to Dalton. They have a zero bullying policy there. I just thought it would be nice.” Kurt said, looking at his father with hope in his eyes.
“Well, kiddo, I would love for you to go, but I’m gonna have to wait and talk to Carole when she gets home. The finances are a little steep, and all.” His father said. Kurt smiled.
“Okay dad. Thanks for considering it.” Kurt said, and then walked back upstairs. He laid down and fell asleep.
