A quiet, repetitive clicking sound. He stopped under the tree in the front yard, hearing the leaves rustle. Burt glanced up and then swore. A photographer had climbed the tree outside Kurt's room and was currently snapping photos.
"Hey!" Burt shouted. The guy jerked and then lost his balance, falling out of the tree. The camera hit the ground and then broke, the sound of it shattering into pieces echoing as the guy hi the ground as well. He let out a groan, but Burt didn't think he'd been seriously injured. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Dad?" Kurt called down, his upper half appearing through the open bedroom window.
His hair was mussed, his lips were swollen and his shirt was undone. Burt closed his eyes and counted to ten silently because as much as he wanted to, he couldn't actually attack the guy who'd tried to take pictures of Kurt making out with Blaine. "Get back inside, son and shut the curtains!" he called up.
"What's going on?"
"Just do it!" Burt snapped, staring down at the guy still moaning on the ground. The window above him shut loudly.
"I called 9-1-1," a female voice spoke up behind him. "I saw the whole thing," she said. "We all did." She pointed to the group of paparazzi behind them.
"Good," Burt replied. The last thing he needed was bad press or this guy to say that Burt physically injured him. "You hurt?" he asked the guy on the ground.
"I think so," the guy gasped.
"That's what you get for trying to take pictures of a private moment between my son and his boyfriend, you pervert."
"I'm just doing my job," the guy tried to explain. "Camera's busted anyway."
"Dad?" Kurt was on the porch this time, Blaine on his heels. Burt buried his head in his hands.
"Kurt, go back in the house," Burt ordered. The other photographers had started taking pictures again.
"Not until you tell me what's going on."
"This guy was taking pictures of you and Blaine in your room and fell out of the tree," Burt told him. Kurt turned about four shades of red and then grabbed Blaine's hand, turning and darting back into the house, slamming the door.
The ambulance showed up, carting the injured photographer away and the others went back to their usual post on the opposite side of the street.
Burt picked up the phone and called his public relations manager the moment he got inside. This was not going to go well.

Attention was drawn today to the home of Congressman Burt Hummel. Apparently a paparazzo climbed up a tree outside his home and attempted to photograph his son, Kurt, in a private moment with his boyfriend, Blaine Anderson (lead actor on the TV series, Dalton). No comments from anyone have been released yet, but this YouTube video clearly shows what happened. The photographer falls out of the tree and hits the ground pretty hard – we have received word that he's okay.
Fans of Dalton have taken to social media in an uproar at what they are calling a "gross invasion of privacy." It just begs the question, when it comes to the media, how far is too far?
