Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson have always been different from each other. Kurt has perfect chestnut brown hair, porcelain-pale skin, baby blue eyes, rosy lips, and an incredible sense of style. But Blaine has dark curly hair that was always in a rumpled mess, dark sun-kissed skin, honey brown eyes, and the taste in darker clothing. Kurt could be seen strutting down the hallways in a Ben Sherman Frontier Blazer, Ann Demeulemeester Double Button Shirt, black skinny jeans, and Dr. Martens boots. But Blaine could just be standing by his locker wearing what he almost always wears. Dark, faded jeans with rips at the knees, a Walmart-bought white tee shirt, Harley Davidson boots, and a Harley Davidson leather jacket.

Kurt has always kept his grades up to straight A's, was at the top of his class along side Rachel Berry and Quinn Febray, was highly devoted to the school's Glee club, and was always known as the Teacher's Pet. Although, Kurt didn't really do it on purpose, people just generally liked him. Even the football players, who were always known for being McKinley High's top bullies, didn't have a problem with Kurt since he was on the football team for a year and helped the team win for the first time in fifteen years. And then for another year, Kurt joined the Cheerios and helped them win Nationals, which they failed to do the year before. Kurt seemed to have kept everyone back on top where they belonged. Kurt was mostly just generally liked because he was close friends with Dave Karofsky, if anyone really thought about it.

But Blaine was a different story. He was always sassy to his teachers, failed to complete homework assignments, had a tendency of skipping classes, answered his test's questions with snarky answers, and had absolutely no respect for anyone. But the teachers of Lima, Ohio knew well enough that Blaine had the potential to pass each class with an easy A if he just allowed himself to instead of being so lazy. But Blaine's father had enough of his "little punk act" when the summer before Junior Year came around. His father had the last straw and forced him to transfer to Dalton Academy just for one year to "set him straight". Dalton Academy was known for their strict rules and musical talent of their Glee club "The Warblers", which was where he would be forced to join thanks to his impressive singing talent and say-so of his father.

For eleven years, the two ignored each other because of their differences...but not for long.
