To say the least, I was not excited for school today. Karofsky, the school’s top bully, was back from suspension. This wouldn’t have mattered if Kurt and I weren’t the ones who got him suspended in the first place. I was deep in thought when Kurt looked over at me. We had pulled into McKinley’s parking lot already.
“Blaine are you okay?” Kurt asked gently shaking my shoulder. I looked over at him. “Yeah I’m fine. Just thinking.” Kurt looked worried but let it go. “Let’s get inside before we’re late.” Fortunately our lockers were right next to each other and we shared a schedule. We had glee club first hour today, so it was okay if we arrived right at the bell. As soon as the first bell rang, the halls emptied. As we turned the corner facing our lockers, we saw someone waiting for us. Karofsky.
“Hey there Lady Boys,” he said as we approached him. I quickly looked at Kurt. I could tell he was panicking. I spoke up. “What do you want Karofsky?” His eyes were focused on Kurt, who was looking at the ground. “Nothing from you. Get out of here Anderson. I want to have a talk with Kurt, alone.” Karofsky said shoving Kurt. I grabbed Kurt’s arm to balance him on his feet. “Well then, I guess you are just out of luck!” Karofsky was not happy with my answer.
He pushed me to the ground and held Kurt against the lockers by his throat, cutting off his air. I immediately jumped up and grabbed Karofsky as Kurt gasped for air. He was two times the size of me, but I was stronger and faster. I had him pinned to the ground with ease. “You better stay away from Kurt! If you lay a hand on him, I swear you will regret it for the rest of your life!” I yelled in his face. I quickly got off of him as he shook with anger, but walked away.
As soon as he was gone, I turned and pulled Kurt into a quick hug. I felt him finally relax in my embrace. “Hey are you alright?” I looked into his eyes and could tell he was terrified. Kurt just nodded at first, but finally gained enough control to talk to me. “I think you may have just saved my life Blaine! I was so scared you were going to leave me with him. Thank you so much.” He hugged me again. “Kurt don’t worry. I’ll never just leave you like that! And don’t mention it, considering you are basically taking me in off the streets.” Kurt laughed. “Technically, you were never on the streets Blainers!” Now I was laughing. “Well Kurtsie we better get to glee club unless you would like a search party set out to find us!” We quickly grabbed our bags and headed towards the choir room.
From down the hall we could hear Santana and Rachel fighting. Kurt and I just sighed at how ridiculous they could be. Then we could hear Finn. “Wait where are Kurt and Blaine?” At that moment we walked in and Kurt spoke. “We’re here! Sorry we’re late Mr. Schue.” Finn hopped up and hugged Kurt and I. “Are you two okay? I was worried because Karofsky is back…” he trailed off. Kurt spoke again. “We’re well aware. It’s been a stressful morning.” Kurt and I sat next to each other in our normal seats next to Mercedes. Mr. Schue then spoke from where he was at the piano. “Stressful meaning what guys? You know you can tell us anything, right?” Kurt just looked at me.
I knew that I’d have to tell all my friends sooner or later, so I started the story of what happened early this morning first. “We know,” I sighed, but then took a deep breath before beginning. “A couple of days ago, my dad came home drunk. He got angry and he punched me.” A few of the girls gasped, but I continued. “I stayed at Kurt and Finn’s over the weekend but had to go home before school. My parents were waiting to talk to me at the house. When I told my dad I didn’t like how he was treating me, he was not happy. This morning my father disowned me.” Kurt had taken my hand knowing how hard it was for me to tell everyone this. Everyone in the room gasped this time. Mercedes pulled me into a hug and Mr. Schue turned from the piano and stood up. “I’m so sorry Blaine.”
After a hug from all the girls and handshakes with the guys I spoke again. “I didn’t want to stay where I wasn’t wanted anyways.” Mr. Schue talked after thinking for a couple of minutes. “Blaine where are you going to stay?” This time Kurt answered. “I’m going to talk to my dad after school to see if Blaine can stay with us.” Finn smiled brightly. “Great idea Kurt! Blaine you’re like family anyways dude!” I smiled. It was great to think I still had a family. “Thanks Finn, that means a lot to me.” Mr. Schue was still thinking as if he was making a plan in his head. “Okay Kurt talk to your dad. If there’s a problem, we can all help you Blaine!” Rachel, who had finally stopped fighting with Santana to listen, spoke from the back of the room. “Wait Kurt, you said you were well aware that Karofsky was back. What happened?”
Now it was Kurt’s turn to talk and I was glad because I wanted to know what he was thinking. “Well when Blaine and I got here Karofsky was waiting for us. I was honestly terrified that he was going to beat the crap out of us, so I couldn’t find my voice to talk. When Blaine asked what he wanted, Karofsky said he wanted to talk to me alone. He got really angry when Blaine wouldn’t leave and he started pushing us around. Then someone over here almost kicked his ass!” Kurt said tilting his head towards me. Everyone started laughing.
Puck was trying to talk through his laughing fit. “Wait Blaine almost kicked Karofsky’s ass? But Blaine is so tiny!” I turned around to look at Puck. “I am not that small!” Santana scoffed. “Oh please! Anderson you are a hobbit!” Kurt came to my defense. “Blaine might be small, but he’s like abnormally strong. He’s fast too. For gosh sake! He had Karofsky, who’s like two times the size of him, pinned to the ground! Blaine could take any of you!” I smirked and faced forward, knowing what Kurt said was true. Puck punched me lightly on the shoulder, “You’re on Blainers!” I looked at him over my shoulder. “Don’t call me that or you’ll have a real problem!” Everyone was turned in their chairs facing us. “You let Kurt call you that!” Puck said mockingly. Kurt and I had a tendency to call each other ridiculous nicknames. “Well last time I checked, you aren’t Kurt!” Mr. Schue got everyone’s attention.
“Alright enough guys. Kurt, Blaine, I’m very glad you’re both okay. Just don’t go around the school, or anywhere for that matter, alone until we have this under control.” Mercedes was the one to comment this time. “You don’t need to worry about that Mr. Schue. These two are basically attached at the hip. They never leave each other’s side!” Kurt and I just looked at each other and laughed. Kurt and I had known each other since we were kids so I guess it was just natural to hang out around each other all the time. Kurt spoke first to defend our friendship. “That’s not true!” I nodded. “Yeah we do plenty of things separately!” Kurt and I didn’t mind when the glee club made fun of us for hanging out so much. We knew they were they were usually trying to be either funny or annoying, but usually the latter. “Kurt for the past four days, you and Blaine have only spent a total of one hour apart. Plus that was this morning when Blaine went home because he needed something, not because he wanted to!” I thought about it. I guess that was true. Kurt was trying to hold back his laughter. “Blaine and I had important things to do!” Finn just knew too much for us to win this battle. “All you did that entire time was sit and watch TV!” Santana cheered, “BUSTED!” Everyone was chuckling. “Alright let’s leave Kurt and Blaine alone!” Mr. Schue called, trying to teach a lesson in the fifteen minutes left of class. We all spent most of the lesson laughing at each other and texting each other. Yes, we text each other even though we’re in the same room! We were one big family made of all types of people. We made fun of each other as if we were actually related. The important thing was that we’d all be there to protect each other in the end.
Everyone looked up from their phones when the door suddenly swung open and David Karofsky headed straight for Blaine and Kurt. “So you two got me suspended, huh?” He screamed. He didn’t get very far. Luckily.

I guess you were right. The first two chapters are not very fluffy at all. good thing I love me some angst :) I really like the Glee club part too. The dialogue flows very easily which is pretty hard to do.
Yeah I liked writing the Glee clyb and trying to find a way to make it flow so im glad it did!! And yes... Very angsty haha thanks for reading it :)
