All of Blaines body ached. He could barely stand up by himself and hobble to the bathroom, he could only just about toddle along like an imfant taking their first steps to collect his medicine. The problem was nothing gave him motivation to do this. Except the need to release his bladder became too much and the pain was too unbearable. But those things he would take forever because the one thing that really got him up these days were knowing he could see Kurt.

His eyes shot open, he blinked a few times in order to stir himself awake and then slowly heaved his older self out of bed. Being 80 was tough, extremely, but there were too many things he had to do before he let go.

Getting dressed was very much a task that needed time and a lot of help, Nurse Jenny came in at half nine to help him and sort out his hair. Now hair was done and he was looking as sharp as he could Jenny deemed him fit for his medicine.

He walked the white corridors down many signed walls with nurses bustling either side of him wishing him a good morning as he walked very slowly to the desk. Theyre only wishing me good morning so they hope I dont die He thought while standing in the cue.

"Morning Harold. How are you today?" Blaine asked while he was concentrating on breathing the way Dr Timms told him too, in through the mouth out through the nose, in through the...

"I keep trying to die but they wont let me." Blaine at this point had decided to breath out his nose but at his friends reply he couldnt help but laugh, leading him to contracting a small coughing fit which ended as he got to the front.

"Blaine Anderson, here are your pills sir." The young black woman said behind the counter who received 6 different types of pills from the dispenser and handed them to Blaine.

"Lucky day Francis."

"Mr Anderson you always say that." And with a wink from her, she turned her attention to the next patient behind him as he stumbled back to his room in order to collect what he was going to need today.

Kurt Hummel was a very proud man. He stood, his hair that was grey was standing on his head, in the style in which he liked. Days when the illness would take over him he sometimes couldnt get up, meaning his clothes were scrunched and he looked a mess. Right now the sun had risen as it was almost 11 but as he looked over the lake a dozen or so swans fluttered off and soared into the sky.

He knew he had a life before this, he knew he did, problem was he couldnt remember it. He remembered his father who died when he was quite young and he remembers having a mum but no memory of anyone special in his life. Today was not a good day. Many things were floating round his head and he couldnt pinpoint them.

He was there, in all his glory in a red and black suit, pristine with flatness and he looked glorious.

"Mr Hummel you cant stay in here all day. Its a lovely day outside why dont we take a walk hm?" Jenny was now in the doorway, her large black frame waddled in taking Kurts pills and handing them over. He took them gratefully but shook his head as he swallowed the pills without a sip of water.

"I dont want to walk." Just at that time Blaine, in his jumper and trousers, glasses on the end of his nose entered, knocking on the already open door. Jenny looked around and saw the notebook in his hand and met his eyes before shaking.

"Today isnt a good day Blaine." But before she could say anymore Kurt was all ears.

"Hello?" Damn his curiosity.

"Kurt this is Mr Anderson, he reads to you sometimes>" Jenny said, pulling Blaine in a little. "You up for a read?"

"I dont know." Kurt said looking back out the window, the lake now empty but the garden full off elders.

"Youll like him. Hes real funny"

Blaine led Kurt to the conservatory at the back which thankfully was empty and sat on one sofa and gestured for Kurt to sit in the other. Once both seated Blaine opened the scrappy book and began.

"Right where were we?" But Kurts face was blank.

"We havent started this story Mr Anderson." Blaines face fell for a second before coughing quickly before saying

"Well then I guess we should start from the beginning" he opened the book from the front and began to read "It was June 6th 1940...
