A Different Side to You
Kurt Hummel pinned the brooch to his jacket and carefully placed the box back inside his locker. Then he examined the books for his first day back at school after Easter vacation. It had been almost three weeks since he had seen Blaine and he had missed him like crazy.
Kurt was fully aware that Blaine had gone on holiday for the majority of the Easter break but he had, Kurt remembered, promised that he would text Kurt every day. But Kurt hadn’t received a text form his boyfriend since day three of the holiday. ‘Oh well! Better than none,’ Kurt thought positively.
He then scanned the hallway for any sight of Blaine. Kurt spotted Mike, Tina and Artie chatting by Mike’s locker and then he saw Rachel and Mercedes talking happily as they came towards Kurt.
“Hey Kurt. I haven’t seen you in almost two weeks, I’ve missed you,” Mercedes hugged Kurt.
“Yeah,” Kurt said blankly.
“Oh my God Kurt I have so much to tell you! I was just telling Mercedes-“ Rachel smiled.
“This is so amazing-“ Mercedes looked excited.
“Well I was out on Saturday with my Dad’s and...” Rachel began to drone on about whatever Rachel was droning on about. Kurt continued to look past her around the corridor.
“Have you seen Blaine?” Kurt asked.
“Um...” Rachel and Mercedes exchanged a look, “I haven’t seen him since before Easter.”
“Oh ok.” Kurt was very disappointed.
“Hi everyone.” Quinn walked up to the three of them clutching several books. “How were your guys’ holidays?”
“Yeah ours were good. How about yours?”
“Oh yes. Excellent actually. You know that mine and Blaine’s families went to the same resort! Isn’t that funny?”
“Blaine?” Kurt’s eyes darted to stare at Quinn. “Have you seen Blaine?”
“Well that’s what I came to talk to you about Kurt, Blaine.” Quinn linked her arm into Kurt’s. They started to walk up the hallway. “I don’t really know how to tell you this Kurt but when I was on holiday I saw a boy that looked almost exactly like Blaine except I thought it couldn’t be Blaine because he wasn’t wearing any hair gel and he was...well...he was kissing...this...girl. She goes to this school. She’s a sophomore, a straight A student and a cheerleader. She’s very pretty.”
“Quinn I don’t really understand. You saw a boy who looks like Blaine making out with a girl.”
“But it was Blaine! Don’t you understand Kurt he’s cheating on you?” Quinn stopped in her tracks. She turned to face him.
“Don’t be ridiculous. Blaine would never cheat on me! And even if he did he’s gay so he would at least do it with another guy!” Kurt couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“I’m only trying to help Kurt. I just don’t want you to be upset.”
“Well lying isn’t going to help anyone.” Kurt suddenly spotted Blaine walking towards him.
“Best of luck,” Quinn said before turning and walking away.
Kurt started to walk towards his boyfriend but soon enough he realised that the boy he thought was Blaine wasn’t really Blaine. First of all his curls were showering naturally (and rather sexily Kurt thought) on his head, he was wearing jeans and a leather jacket over a plain grey t-shirt. Kurt was confused. “Hi Blaine.” Kurt said smiling happily.
“Oh, Kurt hey.” Blaine seemed pulled out of a day dream.
“How come you didn’t text me every day like you promised?” Kurt put on a sad baby voice.
“Did I say I would do that?” Blaine said half-heartedly. That was when Kurt noticed that Blaine was looking past Kurt.
“Yes you did. Don’t you remember?”
“Yeah sure.” Blaine was till staring past his gorgeous boyfriend.
“Then keep your promises in the future Mr Anderson!” Kurt put his hands on his hips and laughed his beautiful laugh.
“Sorry Kurt. Excuse me,” Blaine physically moved Kurt aside so he could continue walking down the crowded hallway of McKinley High. Kurt was very confused for a moment. He stayed exactly where he was trying his best to think that Quinn couldn’t possibly be right.
Kurt spun around on the spot. He immediately saw Blaine leaning against the wall supporting himself on one arm in a very Puck like manner. Next to him was a sophomore cheerleader whose wavy blonde hair was pulled back into a slick ponytail. Her tiny figure was perfect and her smile was glamorous as she flirting with Blaine.
Turned out Quinn couldn’t be more right after all.
