Blaine didn’t know what he was expecting, exactly. Rachel was just so unpredictable. His date could be any type of guy. Knowing Rach, he’d probably be some carbon copy of Kurt...

No. This date was not about remembering his one true love that had just recently come back into his life after being completely invisible for a whole year after they had decided to break up. This was about him finally being able to rid himself of this creepy stalker kid who wouldn’t stop following him around. And this fake date was going to make that happen. With a large amount of luck, of course.

Aaron had texted Blaine the details of their “date” about thirty milliseconds after he had left Blaine’s dressing room (but seriously, how did he even get Blaine’s cell phone number? Blaine certainly didn’t remember giving it to him), so Blaine knew just where to go. It was a cute little restaurant in the city that Blaine vaguely remembered eating at a couple times before... once with Kurt while Blaine was helping him set up his dorm. But that was a year ago, Blaine scolded himself. None of that matters anymore.

He approached the lady at the counter a little nervously.

“Um, hi. I think I have reservation for Harrison?”

The teenage waitress’ jaw dropped open.

“Oh. My. God. You’re Blaine Anderson! Aaron told me you were his date, but I didn’t believe him. Oh my God.”

“I’m not his date!” Blaine said quickly. Being Aaron’s date was probably the last on his list of things he wanted to be, right next to garbage man. “I’m actually... um... meeting my boyfriend here to, um... yeah.”

“Oh... Oh, okay. Well, Aaron is already here so... you can just follow me,” the waitress said awkwardly. Blaine nodded and followed the girl through the restaurant, ignoring the stares he was getting from pretty much everybody in the building.

“Blaine! You made it! Where is your boyfriend?”

Blaine closed his eyes and groaned quietly at the sight of Aaron, dressed in...what the hell was he wearing? Blaine couldn’t even bring himself to explain it. It was a cross between everything and nothing.

Blaine took the seat across from Aaron and gave the waitress a friendly smile to dismiss her.

“He should be here soon. I told him to meet us here.”

"Oh, look! You’re new stylist is here. That’s weird." Aaron said, pointing somewhere over Blaine's shoulder. Blaine froze.

“Blaine.”

He slowly turned his head. He knew that voice. How could he not know that voice? It couldn’t be Kurt. Oh, please, not Kurt. Rachel. Rachel would call Kurt. Ugh, Blaine was going it kill Rachel if it was...

Hazel met blue, and Blaine was lost.

“Kurt.”

Kurt's almost panicked gaze darted between Blaine and Aaron. He gave a forced smile at Aaron and spoke in a calm voice.

"Hi, you must be Aaron. I remember you from earlier today. Anyway, I hope you don't mind, but I need to have a quick word with Blaine. We'll be right back."

"Oh, alright..." Aaron managed, clearly confused. Not as confused as Blaine, of course. His eyes were wide in terror for what was more than likely to come. So he just sat there, staring up at Kurt like he had five heads or something.

"Come on, Blaine."

Kurt led Blaine out towards the back of the restaurant. He opened the heavy back door and the two headed out into the back alleyways of the city. It was snowing lightly. If Blaine had been thinking properly, he might have noted that it was actually the first snow of the season. But his mind was on Kurt and only Kurt. He watched Kurt, who was practically fuming, his cheeks flushed red and his eyebrows creased. Blaine watched the snowflakes fall gracefully onto Kurt's well-kept hair, promptly melting and sending water droplets down onto his scalp. Blaine noticed the way Kurt reached up and pushed the droplets away, then as he gripped his hair in frustration, messing it up in the process. Very unlike the Kurt Blaine had known a year earlier.

"So Rachel called you?" Blaine said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, she did." There was another pause before Kurt spoke again. "What's going on, Blaine? I mean, first the job, and now this..."

"I have no idea. I'm just as confused as you are, and I swear that I had nothing to do with either of these things."

"So what is this?" Kurt threw his arms up in question. "What do you want me to do, Blaine? I can't just pretend-"

"But isn't that what you signed up for when you said yes to Rachel? And you are an amazing actor, Kurt."

"This isn't exactly acting. It's different..." Kurt bit his lip in a struggle for the right words. "It's different with you."

"How so? We aren't together anymore, Kurt.

"It just... it is, okay?" Blaine gave Kurt a look. A look that went straight from Blaine's eyes to Kurt's eyes to Kurt's heart. Kurt grimaced. "Please don't make me say anything else."

"I just need you to... help me get rid of this kid. You heard what he said earlier today... He’s... Listen, Kurt. You don't have to do anything if you don't want to, but..."

"Give me one reason why should I help you."

"You accepted Rachel's request for a reason. I’m not sure what it was but there must have been one. That fact that it is me shouldn't matter," Blaine offered. They stood staring at each other for awhile, the snow building up around them, until Kurt let down his arms with a sigh.

"This means nothing," Kurt said in a forceful voice.

"This means nothing," Blaine confirmed.

Kurt held his hand out with another sigh. Blaine just looked at it with wide eyes.

“So are we going to do this or what?” Kurt said monotonously. Blaine’s expression what unfazed as he continued to stare blankly at Kurt’s hand. “If we are going to convince Aaron the very least you could do it hold my hand, Blaine.”

“Oh.” Blaine snapped back into reality with a shiver. He blamed it on the snow. “Oh, um... Yeah, okay.”

And Blaine took Kurt’s hand in his for the first time since October 2012, a good deal over a year earlier. As much as both of them would have been eager to shrug it off as nothing, they couldn’t exactly deny the familiar feeling of fireworks as their skin touched. Even Kurt, who had been struggling immensely not to feel anything tonight, stared in shock at the sight of his and Blaine’s fingers interlocked.

"Um, okay. Let's do this." Kurt mumbled, opening the door and walking back into the restaurant.

Aaron gave them a curious look as they sat down at the table.

"Alright, Aaron. I'd like for you to officially meet Kurt," Blaine said in a level voice, using the hand that was not enclosed in Kurt's to motion to him.

"Kurt." Aaron repeated.

"Yup."

"Your new stylist Kurt?"

"Yup."

"Your boyfriend Kurt?"

"Yup."

"Your ex-boyfriend Kurt?" Oh yeah. It had almost slipped his mind that anybody who worked with Blaine was pretty familiar with Kurt.

"Uh... yeah."

Aaron nodded slowly, his expression unreadable. The three men were then immersed in one of the most awkward silences any of them had ever experienced.

None of them could have given an accurate guess as to how long it lasted. That was the thing with awkward silences--they always seemed to be ten times as long as they really were. Kurt might have guessed five minutes, and Blaine might have suggested ten, when it was in reality only two. There was really no way of knowing. However, they were all very, very grateful when the waiter came around for their order.

"Are you boys ready to order?" she asked, flipping open a notebook and staring mostly at Blaine.

"I'll have a chicken salad. Except no vegetables. Well, except for lettuce, of course. Just like... lettuce and chicken and... that powdery cheese stuff."

"And Kurt and I will split a fettuccini alfredo." Blaine added without missing a beat. Kurt stared at him with wide eyes, remembering the meal that he and Blaine used to split wherever they ate.

"You remember our dinner order?" Kurt whispered, loud enough for only Blaine to hear.

"Of course I do."

The waitress nodded and left the three boys alone again.

"So, Kurt..." Aaron broke the silence. "How did you and Blaine meet?"

It was funny, because Kurt had created this whole elaborate story of how he had met his fake date, involving an accidental run-in at a coffee shop and stuff evolving from there. Kurt had been so prepared for any type of question... But now he was here with Blaine, and nothing had to be a lie. He could tell the exact truth. It would be just like they had gotten back together. Which they hadn't... But he could pretend easy enough.

"I went to his high school to spy on his glee club my junior year. Blaine was the lead soloist of the Dalton Academy Warblers..." Kurt smiled, reminiscing. "I remember he sang Teenage Dream with the Warblers that day..."

"Ah, that explains Blaine's unhealthy obsession with that song. It's his top played song on iTunes," Aaron said with a smirk. Blaine's eyebrows shot up suddenly.

"How did you know that?"

"Um, yeah. Never mind that," he coughed and attempted to change the subject. "And you guys got together after that, or...?"

"I think I had a crush on him immediately. We did become best friends when I transferred to Dalton. It took him awhile to be able to reciprocate the feelings, though..." Kurt trailed, his eyes nearly watering as he remembered the months of constant flirting and confusing feelings before he and Blaine officially became a couple.

"And you broke up...?"

"October,2012." Blaine said, without missing a beat. "I was a senior, Kurt was in New York for college."

"Why? Because after all those depressing songs Blaine's wrote about you, Kurt, I don't think you two together again is a good idea. I mean, I don't want him to get hurt again."

"Uh, it was just... distance issues." Blaine lied. Kurt looked at Blaine quizzically, trying to figure out his angle, with no such success. "But we resolved them now, so it won't be a problem anymore."

"It better not be. Kurt, if I found out that you and Blaine broke up, I won't hesitate to kill you."

Kurt looked completely shocked. He and Blaine weren't even really together. It was supposed to be only this one fake date. But it had gotten so much more complicated due to the fact that Kurt was now Blaine's stylist, and he would be having to spend a good amount of time with both Blaine and Aaron.

"I won't-" Kurt started, but he was interrupted by several blinding flashes of light.

"Blaine Anderson!" Kurt looked up to find the table flooded with people with cameras. Kurt's eyes widened when he realized what they were. Paparazzi. Blaine Anderson was being chased by paparazzi. They kept firing out questions out, flashing pictures.

"Is this your boyfriend?"

"Is it true that you are working on a new album? When is it coming out?"

"How is your love life? Have you gotten over the mysterious muse from your debut album yet?"

Blaine looked downwards, shielding his face, disgusted.

"Damn, they found me," he briefly glanced up at both Kurt and Aaron. "Come on, let's get out of here. Keep your heads low. Don't let them get any good shots. Don't answer any questions. Anything you say can and will be used against you."

Kurt swallowed. This was just too insane.

In a flurry, the three boys ducked out of the booth, pushing through the now-crowded restaurant, and out into the snowy streets, where they ducked into a taxi without speaking another word.

End Notes: YAY A CHAPTER! I posted a new fic that you guys might like. It's super cool. It's got kinda a Romeo and Juliet type plot, but BETTER. :)
