"Oh my god, guys! These are really good!" Rachel said, her mouth full of crepes.
"Yeah, dudes! They're like... better than pancakes!" added Finn, his mouth also full. I rolled my eyes at the both of them.
"Of course they're better than pancakes! They're crepes!" I said, cutting up a particularly thin one with the side of my fork. I glanced over to Blaine beside me. He was kind of quiet, occasionally drenching a bit of crepe in syrup and then eating it. He was doing this yesterday, too. Being all quiet and avoiding conversation. The room caught on to his mood, and we were caught in a beautiful awkward silence. All that could be heard is the clanking of forks. Beautiful sound. Sarcasm.
"Hey, Finn, can you please pass the syrup?" I was kind of happy that Blaine was the one to break the silence, considering he was the one who'd been all quiet in the first place.
"Sure, man."
"Woah, wait! Blaine, you have enough syrup on your plate already to drown a puppy!" I said, reaching out and grabbing the syrup from Finn.
"Almost, but not quite. Needs a little more..." I gave Blaine my very best death glare, the one that I spend ten minutes a day practicing in front of my mirror while waiting for my third layer of moisturizer to sink in. He smiled at me. Better than silence, I guess.
"Okay, so Kurt. I was talking to Mercedes yesterday, and we decided that we all need to get together. Like the New Directions. For a kind of... "summer's here and we all still rock" party. You in?" I didn't have to contemplate this. It was a brilliant idea- and an awesome excuse to spend some more time with my amazing friends.
"Of course! Well, only if Blaine can come, too." I said, reaching over to give Blaine's knee a squeeze beside me.
"Mmn. I dunno," Rachel drawled. "Not sure if it's a good idea to invite the New Direction's only real competition..." Normally I'd yell at her for this totally Rachel comment, but I knew she was joking because of her ear-to-ear grin. Everybody loves my boyfriend.
"Hey, Rachel! It's summer. I'm not a Warbler, I'm just Blaine," Blaine looked at Rachel with laughter in his eyes. I smiled too, but not because of Rachel's teasing. It was more because of Blaine's infectious smile.
"Of course you can come, Blaine."
"Well, then yes. It sound like lots of fun!" I grinned. It's going to be a perfect summer.
We finished out breakfast in silence. It wasn't an awkward silence. It was more of a happy silence. We just had no need to say anything.
Rachel left a little bit after that. She said something about having to go do something with her dads, but I wasn't really paying attention.
"So, Blaine. What do you feel like doing today?" I asked, dragging him by his arm back to the couch where we had woken up together a little over an hour ago.
"Well, first of all I want to get out of my uniform," he said, tugging at his tie. Oh. I had completely forgotten that the both of us had fallen asleep in yesterday's clothes and never changed. Which was very weird, especially for me. I looked down and examined my own outfit. It looked fine, a little disheveled, maybe. My white button-up shirt was sticking out at an odd angle underneath my grey vest, and my bowtie had gotten a bit crooked. I still needed to change though, desperately.
"Do you have any clothes I can borrow, Kurt? I forgot to pack a bag." Oh. My heart skipped a couple beats, but I don't really know why; he just wanted some clothes. He pulled off his blazer, and my vision was started to blur, so I turned around quickly, heading towards the stairs.
"Uh... yeah, I probably have some... um... smaller outfits. Let me go look," I ran up the stairs with a spring in my steps. I didn't tell Blaine that I had picked out an outfit for a moment just like this one about a week after we started dating. I opened my closet and pulled out a hanger with my ankle-cut skinny jeans (which would basically be regular jeans for him) and a purple collared t-shirt. Perfect. I turned around, closing my closet, but nearly toppled over when a grinning Blaine stood in my doorway.
"Well, it didn't take you that long to pick one out. It's almost like you had it waiting for me," he teased. I rolled my eyes, shoving the hanger in his chest, and turning back to my closet.
"You know me, always prepared. You can go ahead and get changed in the bathroom." I said, pulling out my favorite outfit. I grinned, remembering why I loved it so much. I wore this outfit day I met Blaine. It was as close to the Dalton Academy signature blazer as I could manage out of my own closet at such short notice. Not a hint of red lining in there... I was surprised I even made it inside the building, I stood out so much. Thank whoever is up there looking over me that I met Blaine that day, and made me more than just Kurt, and him just Blaine. I wore this outfit whenever I'm feeling particularly sappy or when I've just been lonely and start to miss Blaine. It holds some special memories from the times before Klaine (I'm still undecided about this name. It's not as cool as Puckleberry or Finnchel, but I like it a lot better than Furt, that's for sure. I'm more of a fan of Blurt, but Blaine seems to like Klaine better. I'll go along with it). It's been over half a year since I met Blaine, and it's been one crazy journey, but I'm so glad we're finally together and happy. I love him so much... But what was up with him today and yesterday?
I was fiddling with my tie when I heard a soft knock on my door.
"Hey, Kurt, you ready?" it was Blaine. My heart jumped before my actual body did, but my body wasn't far behind. I raced to the door with a leap, opening it in record time. Blaine stood there and grinned at me. He was wearing my outfit. He looked stunning. My eye for fashion didn't fail me today (well, it never has, actually). The purple t-shirt I had bought particularly for Blaine hugged his chest in all the right ways, and his jeans... Well, they looked good.
"Hi," I managed. "You look great."
"Yeah, it's a nice outfit," he grinned at me. "This shirt is kind of not like you. And it also happens to be exactly my size."
He winked and I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Yeah, well... What do you want to do today?"
"Well, I actually did have something in mind..."

I like how easy their relationship is. It just feels relaxed :)
