“Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it?” Kurt asked me for the umpteenth time as I flipped through a handful of channels on the TV in our hotel room.

“Positive.” I sighed. As much as I was all for the concept of Kurt and I being the kind of boyfriends who talk about everything, I just really, really had no intention of talking about my parents anytime soon. It was better for me just to ignore the topic altogether. Thinking about it hurt, and I just wanted to enjoy this time with my best friend and my boyfriend. “I promise I’ll talk about it eventually. Just not now.”

“You’re totally, totally sure?” Kurt asked me, his eyes pleading. For a second I just wanted to give into him. Those eyes... I mean, who could turn them down? Luckily Ava was here to help me out.

“He’s sure, Kurt!”

“Excuse me for being concerned about my boyfriend.” Kurt pouted, his arms crossed as he slouched even lower down on the bed. I exhaled slowly. I didn’t want Kurt to get the wrong idea about any of this.

“I appreciate it, Kurt. I really do, but it’s been a long day, and I just really want to relax with you and Ava.”

“Okay.” Kurt deflated, with a small smile on his lips, that I couldn’t help but return. “Okay, sure. We can do that.”

“Thank you.” I whispered, leaning in to give him a short peck on the lips before returning my attention to the TV, where I skipped a few more channels before settling on a rerun of Cake Boss. Kurt cuddled into my side and Ava was curled up in a ball like a kitten at our feet, and to be honest? I could have died happy right there and then. But it was about to get even better.

The next morning, Kurt woke me a great deal earlier than I would have liked or expected. Of course, I didn't complain, especially since he woke me up with his lips gently pressing against mine.

Of course, I have to take a moment to thank Ava for this. The plan for sleeping arrangements was originally to have Ava and I share one of the full-sized beds and Kurt take the other one. However, I have the best friend in the whole wide world, and she agreed to trade beds with Kurt and keep it a super secret. Although I have my suspicions that it wasn't just for the sake of Kurt and I. She just didn't want to have to deal with my relentless kicking during the night. Who can blame her? Also, we had to agree that Kurt and I weren't allowed to start any funny business while Ava was in the room, which Kurt and I agreed to immediately, Kurt's cheeks blushing that adorable shade of bright pink.

Anyway, Kurt woke me up with a kiss, which I groggily returned, although cautiously, because I definitely had morning breath.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's?" he whispered in my ear, and I couldn't help but laugh at his excitement.

It took awhile to get me moving (it was five in the morning, so sue me). I ended up spending an extra few minutes in the shower due to the fact that it was really warm and my mind had a tendency to roam off. Then of course, I had to dry off my hair and gel it down before Kurt could get a chance to see, and then get dressed. By the time I was about finished, Kurt was getting extremely impatient, mumbling about wanting to leave before Ava woke up.

Breakfast at Tiffany's was better than expected. Kurt was excited to redo what he and Rachel had done at Nationals with me. He ordered the same bagels for us and took us to the same spot underneath where it read "Tiffany's & Co." in bronze lettering. Once we were finished, Kurt and I walked back to the hotel, fingers intertwined the whole way back, to be greeted by a very, very angry Ava.

Luckily for Kurt and I, Ava's anger was short lived, as we had reservations for lunch at Ellen's Stardust Diner, which was definitely the coolest meal I've ever had. Not because of the food (which wasn't half bad). What was cool about this place is that all the wait staff sang and danced all around us while we ate. It's not everyday that you get to eat a burger while your waitress is standing on top of the booths singing Whitney Houston in a poodle skirt.

We then went straight from there to Behind the Emerald Curtain, the Wicked museum. That experienced was mostly summed up by Kurt and Ava squealing about every single little thing. Elphaba's original costume worn by Idina Menzel. Kristen Chenowith's Glinda wand. Little things like that made Kurt and Ava just lose it. I was interested, of course, but not nearly as much as those two. It was adorable, watching them bond over Wicked. It definitely made me happy.

After that, we had some time to kill before going to actually see Wicked, so we ended up just walking through Broadway, which was... definitely something.

I could see that look in the corner of Kurt's eyes. He was so passionate and determined to get to this place. You could see the passion in his eyes as he walked down this street, gazing up at the neon signs for all of his favorite musicals.

He was going to make it here someday. I was sure of it.

“Elphaba’s voice! Oh my God!” Kurt’s grin was literally ear to ear as we exited the Gershwin Theater. We had just seen Wicked, which admittedly was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, ever, and Kurt and Ava were already talking a mile a minute. Even if I wanted to put my two cents in, they wouldn’t be able to slow down enough for me to be able to.

“It was stellar. Just stellar. Ugh.” Ava sighed.

“Almost Idina-level good. Almost.” Kurt held his fingers a little bit apart and squinted his eyes adorably. Ava grinned, here comments almost overlapping Kurt’s and vice versa.

“Fiyero was HAWT.”

“Tell me about it. Hot damn, I’d let him ride my broom any day.”

“Woah there, Kurt!” I exclaimed. Because yeah, the actor who played Fiyero was easy on the eyes and what not, but Kurt is mine. And I definitely don’t want to think about him... Being with that actor. But I did know that it was a joke, so I tried to laugh good naturedly.

“Aw, Blainey-boo is jealous...” Ava trailed, running to my right side and elbowing me, which actually really hurt, so I elbowed her back. Kurt ran up to my left side, snaking his arm around my waist and pulling me closer, immediately warming my body.

“Don’t be, honey! I was totally joking. I mean. Mostly.”

“What did you think, Blaine? Was it everything you’ve ever dreamed it would be? Was it perfect? Stellar? Amazing? Wonderful? Splendiferous?”

“Splendiferous. Definitely Splendiferous.” I beamed back. It was true. The show was amazing. I wanted to laugh and cry and sing and sigh all at the same time through most of it. My mind was still singing “Dancing Through Life”, even as we approached our hotel, which was right at the outskirts of Times Square.

“I thought that Glinda was a little... too...” Kurt fought with words, his eyebrows furrowing adorably. “...squeaky.”

“Yeah, yeah. I agree.” Ava shot back in a second. “It’s so hard to match Kristen’s flawless Glinda.”

“I don’t see what you guys are even talking about.” I added. “I thought the whole show was flawless.”

“Well, of course you think that.” Ava rolled her eyes. “It was only your first time seeing the show.”

“It was still perfect.” I mumbled as we turned the corner and entered our hotel, where I was positive I would fall asleep the second my head hit the pillow. Although I had a feeling that Kurt and Ava might keep me up with their Wicked rambling.

If Kurt was happy, I didn't mind.

End Notes: Two chapters left. YAY.
