Chapter 9.
An Surprise Offer.

I closed my locker and held my books against my chest, I turned but my feet didn't follow me, in fact they stayed where they were, wobbling slightly where I fell straight flat on the floor, a mixture of laughs echoed through the halls.

I reached to collect my books as I crawled to my knees, sniffing. Hands gathered them up before I could get to them, a pair of black boots, a slight heel were staring at me in the face. I looked up. Oh, it was him. He reached for my hand, "I've got it." I mumbled, trying to stand again, my feet gave in and a fresh load of laughter matched the previous.

"Let me." He said quietly, grabbing my hand and lifting me to my feet, He ducked down and reached for my leg, I stumbled back into the lockers, "They tied your laces together, I was just going to untie them." He smiled slightly.

"Oh.." I swallowed and looked down at my shoes, "I didn't feel them do it.."

He shrugged, "I think it's silly that they have to pick on people to claim entertainment." He untied my laces and did them up right for me, I wriggled my foot as he stood.

"Yeah." I looked at him, he never got picked on. Was it just me? He tilted his head and gave me a questioned glare.

"What?" I asked.

"You looked like you'd seen a ghost." He laughed.

"Oh." He always seemed to say things that I couldn't reply too, I'd normally have some witty, sarcastic reply to most peoples comments, but him nothing came out. I didn't like it.

"I need to go to math." I mumbled.

"Sure, see you in Glee club later." He said.

"Yeah." I smiled, but it disappeared as soon as I turned from him, well that was odd. What was he up too?

I stood up at the front, I grinned. "Can anybody find meeeeee? Sombody tooo love!" I hit the note perfectly swinging my hips, eyes closing as I lent forward, I jumped backwards. "Each morning I get up I die a little. Can barely stand on my feeeeet.." I wobbled slightly on my feet and leaned to the left. Pretending to catch a glance in a mirror and pouted, "Take a look in the mirror and cry!" I fell to my knees, and pleaded to the sky, "Lord what are you doing to meee?!"

I had the others joining in with the song too, I felt like I was floating. When I sung nothing else mattered, the dance moves came straight away and I felt happy, like I could literally do anything. I stumbled slightly. Blaine was even singing along, in fact he was standing with Rachel, dancing. He looked at me and I turned my gaze away, hitting the last note as well as I could with the shortening breath I had. They clapped and I took a bow.

"Thank you, I do admire your choice of queen this week. Though I wasn't sure what song to sing, they all hold a certain meaning, and they all are so good!"

"You chose well." Mercedes remarked, grinning as she hugged me.

I smiled and walked towards the seats, "Right guys, we need to choose the songs we're doing for Nationals." Rachel perked up, Puck stood up and wound his hand across his chest like a guitar.

"Something with heavy strings!"

''That would be most tracks.." Finn said, raising an eyebrow as he too, stood.

"What about Bohemian Rhapsody? It has a lot of parts, a lot of zones and pitches that fit all our voices, not to mention we could tell a story with it." I said.

"Brilliant!" Rachel clapped her hands together.

I smiled. "Thank you." I picked off a touch of lint on my shirt.

"It's brilliant." Blaine nodded, "Kurt? I was wondering if I could have a word." I tried to hide the startled look on my face, as did Rachel.

"Oh, sure?" I blinked.

"It's about a song choice." He mumbled and started heading towards the back of the room, I looked at Rachel and she assured me to go with him. I sighed, and followed with heavy arms.

I sat beside him, "I don't know what song to choose."

"For what?"

"The NYADA competition. I know you're entering and it's really unfair of me to ask of you. Your talent goes without question, though."

I couldn't help the slightl blush in my cheeks, "I wouldn't hardly compare my talent to yours."

He smiled, "Is that a compliment you're giving me?"

"I give compliments.." I paused. "Occasionally."

"I was beginning to think you'd taken a dislike to me."

"Why's that?"

"Paranoia. I guess you could call it."

Not exactly, I hadn't really welcomed him with the nicest of arms, I'd immediately put him into the bucket with the others.

"I've just been a bit bombared with problems, I've not really been myself lately."

He half smiled, "You seemed happy singing that song." he tapped my shoulder.

"I am happy when I sing, It takes my mind off things, portal to a new feeling. You know?"

He tilted his head at me, his eyes stared and blinked three times before looking away. "Yeah, I know what you mean." He was silent for a while.

"An excuse to help me with a song then, take your mind off things." He poked me and winked.

"When you put it like that.." I stood up, "What artist are you looking at portraying?" I questioned.

End Notes: Please look up the song if it helps with picturing the chapter!
