Chapter 32.
Avoiding me.
I sighed and leaned against my locker. Blaine was getting a drink from the water fountain. He wiped his mouth and stood up. I turned before he could catch my eye, trying desperately to concentrate on what Rachel was yapping on about now.
"I think Finn is avoiding me." I caught that bit,
"Why?" I grabbed onto the small sentence.
"We kissed yesterday, at the gym and he's been avoiding me since. I can't stop thinking about it. I mean I know he liked it, otherwise he wouldn't have done it right?" I nodded, she frowned and I shook my head.
"You're confusing me, Kurt." She wept, pushing her eyes in with her hands.
"You fancy a coffee or something?" I shrugged.
"What about class?"
"I doubt I'll concentrate, and I'm sure you'll say the same." She nodded.
"I guess you're right."
"Hey you two, Kurt.. can I have a word?"
"No." I said not turning my head towards him.
"Kurt, please. I don't understand what's happened." He whined, I bit the inside of my cheek and supressed myself from talking.
"Kurt?" Rachel asked.
"You ready for that coffee?" I remembered, locking my locker and picking up my bag.
"I'll come." Blaine said quickly.
"No!" I snapped, making the mistake of looking at him, his eyes were sad and his face broke. "I need some space," I whispered.
"For what?" He begged, "What have I done?!" People were starting to look in our direction curiously.
"We're causing a scene, we'll talk later."
"No, now." He took my hand, "I need to know what's going on inside your head, Kurt. I need to know why you're so mad with me.. was it because we didn't-"
"No." I looked away.
"What is it then?" he stroked his thumb on the back of my hand.
"Do you do that to him too?" I asked, releasing my hand from his.
He squinted his eyes trying to make sense of it. "Who, Kurt? I don't know who you're on about." I looked at him.
"What's going on, Kurt?" Rachel whispered, her hand going to my shoulder.
"He.. he's still seeing Sebastian." I replied to her.
His eyes widened. "What?!" He shouted. "What makes you think that?" He shook his head.
"Sebastian, he came and talked to me yesterday." I answered.
His eyes went up, "I should have known it'd have something to with him."
"I'm not letting myself be hurt, Blaine."
"You believe him? You really believe him?" Blaine was shaking his head, he wiped his mouth and stepped back. "Kurt.. he doesn't mean anything to me. He's lying, he twists things, he gets inside your head, He's not a nice person!"
"You were with him for so long, can't have been that bad."
"Kurt, I've told you my reasons. Please.. please just forget everything he said."
I pushed my hair from my eyes, "I don't know how."
"Come on, how about all three of us get a coffee and we can talk it out and try and resolve this somehow?" Rachel interrupted, trying to resolve our conflict.
"Kurt, you really don't understand how much I feel for you."
I looked at him and sighed. "Sebastian is nothing." He took my hands again, "Kurt I'm telling you the truth, I wouldn't lie to you. People can tell when I'm lying, I do this sort of twitchy thing with my eyebrows, its really not pretty." I tried to hide my smile. He smiled back, "Coffee?" He asked, they both looked at me, I sighed.
"Oh, alright." I gave in as Blaine put his arm around my waist and turned me around as we walked.
-
Rachel sat opposite us, stirring her hot coffee. "I really don't know what to do," She frowned, her voice in a whining tone..
"What's going on?" Blaine asked, looking at Rachel to me. "Fill you in on the blankety blanks,"
"Blankety Blanks?" He repeated with a smirk.
"Shut up, You're not completly off the hook". I pushed his arm.
"I didn't do anything wrong, So I should be miles from that hook." I rose an eyebrow, he winked and made me giggle.
"Guys, you're not helping. Damsal in destress here." She waved her hand, head on the table.
"Finn kissed her." I said to Blaine.
"No way Rachel, totally awesome." I rose an eyebrow at him again, in which he grinned.
"Not exactly because apparently he's been avoiding her, so now she's over thinking the situation." I said close to her.
"I am not over thinking, he has been avoiding me." She pleaded her argument.
"Face it Rachel, he's single. Go for it now while he is."
She sighed. "You're right but what if I am making it all in my head."
"What, you mean like I did?" I put a hand on my chest.
Rachel looked at Blaine, "Its different to you two."
"How?.. oh wait, You don't have the sadistic ex on your side."
"I don't know, how mean can Quinn be?" Blaine asked.
Me and Rachel exchanged a glance. "Okay so your situation is similar." I smiled. she groaned and let her head fall onto the table. "Lightbulb. I have an idea!"
"Do you say that every time you have an idea?" Blaine asked.
"I don't know, sometimes, it depends how genius the idea is-"
"Kurt," Rachel interupted, her hands waving in front of my face. "The idea?"
"Oh right. Why don't I talk to him, maybe get some answers. Could do a date if you want?"
"He won't go on a date with me!"
"I'm sure I can get him to." I smiled.
"We could double," Blaine added, "It would take the awkwardness out."
I shrugged. "I'm easy, I've got nothing planned tonight."
"Okay, sure. I'll- um, keep my fingers crossed." Rachel grinned in excitement.
