Chapter 31.
He always comes back to me.
I licked the butter from my lips, putting the plate on the arm of the chair. I hadn't really felt like eating but the amount of looks my dad was giving me, I settled with some toast. A knock sounded at the window. Blaine grinned, gesturing to the plastic bag in his hands. I smiled weakly and got up from the chair, opening the door.
"I've got goodies!" He grinned, I looked at the bag. My vision rose to look at him. His arm dropped to his side. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm tired." I rubbed my eyes for effect.
"Oh. I brought a movie. You think you can stay awake that long?" The disappointment that lay in his eyes hurt my chest.
"No, come in." I smiled while opening the door wider.
"Awesome!" He said, walking into the lounge. "Is this your mum?" He put the bag down, walking over to the mantlepiece.
"Mhm." I closed the door, locking it behind me.
"She has your eyes." He observed, but the picture beside it caught his eye. "Wow." He smirked. It was me from last year, we had attended one of my mums friends weddings, I was forced to wear a suit.
"I know I look like an idiot, they wouldn't let me choose the suit."
"You looked adorable." I looked at him. "Your cute smile!" He put it back on the side and looked at me, frowning a bit. "Kurt?"
"Hmm?" I asked, looking back at him.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good. Did you bring any drinks? I can put the kettle on."
"I'm alright to be honest, so many coffees thrown my way at the home,"
"How is your nan?" I added.
"She's okay. She's eating again now, still talking like my Grandads alive though. It's sad, really. She keeps asking about him. I haven't got the heart to tell her." His face was sour and filled with a dull pout.
"Don't. She'll only forget again, let her have a little bit of hope." I smiled, he returned it.
"You're really amazing, Kurt." We sort of just looked at each other, the time ticking fast.
"This film," I broke the silence.
"Oh yeah! I decided to choose something that wouldn't toy with my emotions.''
"Wise move," I remarked, taking the DVD from him. "Hmm. A horror. Maybe not so wise."
"What's wrong with it?"
"I get scared easy."
His face broke, "Don't laugh" I pointed.
He put his hands up. "Don't worry." He tightened his lips together trying to stop the little giggle.
I put the DVD in the player and pressed play, the music started harmonizing straight away. "Oh, no adverts?" I said, staring at the screen. Blaine messed in his bag, "Come here." He was opening up a blanket. I stared in awe.
He smiled, "What?"
"Nothing, nothing." I walked over, sitting on the sofa, He brushed the blanket over us, and moved closer to me, his arms going around my middle while his head rested on my chest. His smell wafted over me and I closed my eyes, admiring the thick and heavy scent. I turned my gaze back to the screen, swallowing. I wondered how scary it would be, maybe it was a mild horror. According to the music this didn't seem likely. I clenched my hands together, Don't be silly Kurt, it's not real. It might seem real but its-
"Oh my god!" I jumped, Blaine laughed and lifted his head to see me.
"Do you want to watch this?"
I nodded. I wanted to spend time with him, he raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Kurt, you can tell me if you're scared."
"I just don't like jumping," He chuckled.
"No one does, well.. strange people do. Want to turn it off?" I shook my head. He then leaned closer, "I'll protect you from the nasty mean demon things." I giggled. - The credits rolled over, I'd finished my popcorn. "That wasn't so bad." I said.
"Kurt you were shaking through most of it." He pointed out and I frowned.
"Was I?"
"Don't worry, I thought it was cute." He kissed my cheek, I turned my head and captured his lips. He was taken off guard by my swift action. He double blinked and started kissing me back, I smiled against his lips, my hands going onto his chest, pushing him down slightly. His head went against the pillows, I moved my body over him my hands catching one of his shirt buttons, undoing it.
"Kurt," He mumbled, taking my hands in his. I stared at him.
"What?" I asked.
He struggled to sit up, I moved off him so he started rubbing a hand through his hair.
"What are you doing?" He whispered.
"You didn't tell me we'd have a house full?" Dad said from the door way in surprise.
"Oh god..." I sighed.
"I should go" Blaine mumbled, standing up.
"No.. I'm sorry.. I didn't," I tried to apologize but he just interrupted me.
He frowned, "Don't be sorry, Kurt. We'll talk about it another time." He smiled weakly. I didn't smile back, my chest was tightening.
Was Sebastian right? Was he just using me?
"Please.. Stay for a bit longer." I whispered.
Dad mumbled something under his breath and then mentioned something about going to bed, I looked at him.
"I need to go, See you tomorrow?"
I swallowed. "Whatever." I shrugged, grabbing his stuff and putting it in the bag for him.
"Why are you being like this?" Blaine furrowed.
"Just go, go back to him."
He frowned confusingly now, "Go back to who?" I opened the door.
"Bye Blaine."
"Kurt, go back to who?"
"I said, Bye."
He walked up to me, I looked away from him. "You've been really off tonight.. not like you at all."
"Well you know, maybe we don't know each other well enough!"I snapped, I could see the confusion on his face. "Just go." I sighed. He hovered for a second before walking past me,
"Night, Kurt."
"Night." I closed the door on him.
I sniffed.
"He always comes home to me."
