Chapter 3.
New guy.
"This song!" Rachel grinned, she pushed a sheet at my face.
I binked, grasping it from her. "On my own?" I furrowed my brow when reading the tittle.
She nodded. "mhm." Her eyes were shimmering with excitement, which wasn't unusual for Rachel.
Rachel Berry has a strong personality which is often misinterpricated for being selfish. Most of her actions come from wanting to be as successful as she can be, which not many people understand. Don't get me wrong, sometimes she even got under my skin.
"Don't you think that's a little sad?" I questioned, watching her grin grow if possible bigger.
"Sadness is the most powerful emotion, Kurt."
"Right. I'm not following." I frowned.
"Well what says votes than someone feeling the same pain as you." She smiled, opening her locker.
"Um, so you're going for sympathy votes? Rachel that isn't you."
"I like the song" She shrugged and turned to me again. "So have you got a song in mind?"
"Nope."
She sighed and folded her arms. "Kurt"
"What?" I lent my back against the lockers.
"Do you have any idea how important this is?"
"Yes, I know NYADA." I nodded. I knew how important it was, my brain just wasn't foccussing on that importance. In fact it wasn't focussing at all. It was taken over by constant unreated topics, which really wouldn't help my future.
"What do you want to say with your song?" She asked butting her lip, her eyes were looking at me but far past me, scanning her mind for songs. I knew exactly what I wanted say, but I was pretty sure it wasn't to be taken seriously.
The bell rang.
"We shall discuss this later. Remember meeting with Glee later" She cooed and walked across the corridor.
I banged my head against the locker, closing my eyes. Taking a deep breath.
"Careful Finn, I think he's thinking about you again" Karofsky's deep gloating voice sent acid into my stomach.
I opened my eyes, trying hard not to squeeze them tight again.
"Quit it, Karofsky." Finn mumbled.
Karofsky was the reason I hated this place. He was the reason why I hated myself.
Since Finn had been forced to join Glee for constantly skipping class. He'd been nicer to me, in fact bullying from his side had completly stopped and we had formed a sort of bond. I wouldn't say friendship just yet. He's also Rachel's boyfriend. Well that is what Rachel referred to him as, she viewed their relationship that way in her head. He just hadn't come to terms with it yet.
"You okay?" He asked, turning his head to the side to catch my eye.
Just trying to get through my already broken life while constantly baggered by your friends.
"I'm fine." I said forcing a smile.
"Don't le thim get to you" He tapped my shoulder. "He's just a jerk and is jealous of your creative outbursts."
"My outbursts?" I raised both my eyebrows.
"Sure" He nodded walking at my side. "Come on, or we'll be late for class. I don't want another reason to get dentention."
----
Mercedes was expressing her opinion on the Nationas performance.
Mercedes Jones was a Diva in training. She refused to stand in the background and had to have her opinions listened too. She was also one of the people I trust in. Since we formed Glee, the group had become a tight pack. We valued each others friendship.
Mr Schuester grinned at me, he was the guy that took on the duty to coach us. Without him I guess you could say we'd be nothing.
"Kurt" He greeted. I nodded at him in reply.
"Kurt" Rachel waved me over, her legs dangled over the chair.
I'd not turned up for a Glee meeting in over a month, I'd found it hard to enjoy it, with my mum and everything. I figured it was time to return though, I'd missed the company.
"It's good to have you back, Man" Mike grinned, shaking my hand, I returned a nervous smile.
"In honour of Kurt's return, I think we should let him choose the Artist" Mr Schuester smiled, he got up and walked over to the board, chalk at the ready.
"Oh no, I couldn't. Plus I'm not sure if I'll be participating."
"Kurt you must be joking, we've been building up to this." Rachel pouted.
"You have" I corrected.
"He's lost his nerve" Santana shrugged.
Santana was one of the cheerios. She never had a problem expresing her opinion, no matter how much it hurt. In fact the more it hurt, the better she would feel. She was the master at making a plan.
"Leave him alone, he's bound to have lost something, with everything that's happened" Artie spoke.
"Sorry I'm late." Finn walked in, which quickly took Rachel's attention, happy for it to be off me.
"I think we should do Queen" Mercedes suggested. "It's old fashioned so most people know the lyrics, but we can pimp it out a bit. Let the songs come out in a different light"
"That's an excelent idea!" Mr Schuester wrote it on the board, underlining it. "Queen" He said, "We will perform Queens greatest hits."
"Well I know what song I'll be putting out there" Rachel grinned.
"What about you Kurt?" Mr Schuester asked, I knew he was trying to encourage me, but it just felt like he was on my case.
"I shall think of something" I mumbled, rubbing my hands together.
"Speaking of thinking up songs, we need to go and sign up for that competition" Rachel stood up, her hands flailing slighty, before grabbing my wrist. "We'll be right back" She pointed and dragged me behind her.
"We have to do that now?" I grumbled.
"Mmhm, otherwise positions will be closed." she pointed at the sheet that was hanging on the corridors wall. Taking the pen that was hanging there she wrote her name down, signing it with a gold star. Then handed the pen to me.
I sighed and carefully wrote my name down from hers on the list.
"Excuse me, is this where you sign up?"
I looked up at the guy, "Yeah, its.." I paused, the pen still between my finger tips. My arm was half outstretched, ready to hand him the pen, though when he went to take it from me, the pen slipped from my finger tips. Dropping to the floor. He reached down and picked it up.
"Yeah it is" Rachel replied for me, she raised an eyebrow at my actions.
The guy was slightly shorter than me, his hair had way too much gell in it. His posture was broad, stance was well held. Clothes, smart yet casual. He wore jeans that gave the sense of a casual occasion, and a striped shirt with matching bowtie.
"Thanks" He smiled at Rachel and handed the pen back to me.
He turned and started walking back down the corrodor.
"Well he is new, I would have remembered him"
I certianly would have remembered him.
