Chapter 2.
Mum.
Dear Diary.
I've been trying to sum up today in a word. I guess you could call it dreadful. Or if you really wanted to be smart, Abominable. Unfortunatly people at school are yet to see my incredible talents, and understand how gifted I am. Instead they proceed to make my life a living hell. I still fail to see the problem with me. What is they dislike so much about me?
Dad isn't much help. His idea of helping is handing out out advise I could get from the student councillor. Which is exactly his advise. 'Go see the Councillor.' There wasn't any point wasting time on them. They'd hand you a leaflet and be done with it. They'd forget you the moment you walked out the door, your problems hanging in the air still.
Mum would understand.
I closed my diary, shoving it up onto my bedside table. I could smell dad cooking downstairs. Most probabbly fixing himself something to eat. I think he'd given up on asking me. I'd lost count at how many meals I'd skipped. I just didn't have much apetite recently. No I haven't got an eating discorder. I just don't feel like eating stuff that tastes like cardboard.
Vibration shot through my phone; interupting my inner thoughts.
Rachel;
Kurt, I've just heard about this competition. You need to enter with me.
Kurt;
You are going to have to be more specific with details. What does this imply me to do?
Rachel;A video of you performing, singing. The best ones get selected to go into a final sing off.
Kurt;
And the prize of this is?
Rachel;
Exsperience! There's some NYADA teachers that are attending. We could get in a good word.
NYADA was a dream me and Rachel shared. I guess it's where our business got serious.
Kurt;
Seeing as its for NYADA. I cannot refuse.
Rachel;
Brilliant. We'll start looking at songs tomorrow!
Rachel was someone I could share my dreams with, if we wasn't handing out advise and sharing achievements we'd be battling against each other. She was the only one who really did trually understand how much getting into NYADA meant to me.
"Kurt?"Dad's voice whispered through the small crack in the door.
"Hmm?" I rolled over so I could see his face poking through, he lent his hands against the outside of the door, "How was school?"
"Fine." I replied bluntly turning my head back into the pillow.
"Did you make any friends?" He opened the door more, letting some of the hall light pass into my room.
"Do I look ten years old, dad?" I frowned. "Besides I've got friends." I watched his mouth part slightly and already knew what the next words were going to be.
"I mean you know, male friends. Joining the football team, you remember how good you were at that."
"I don't do sports dad, I don't do the whole getting sweaty thing. I hate what it does to my complection. Besides.. I've got Rachel, Mercedes.. the whole of Glee club. Even Finn's started to talk to me, But I am pretty sure he hates my guts."
"I'm not questioning your friends Kurt, I just think your mum would have wan-"
"Don't you dare bring mum into this." I noticed my tone change, as did he. I might have sounded harsh but he always did it, Always tried to get through to me using her as the subject. She was more than that. I heard the door close, and I knew that was end of conversation for tonight.
