Chapter 4.
"I'll see you later." Kurt smiled.
"Remember not to.."
"Listen to Sebastian." Kurt curt in, nodding in understanding and pushed him towards the door. "I know, Now shoo."
He sighed. "I'll only be a couple of hours."
Kurt waved at him as he walked away.
"Isn't this exciting?" Rachel grinned, pushing some of her hair away from her face.
Finn stood with her, the money box in his hand, Sam shot him an odd glance. "Mercedes is running a bit late, So I said we'd wait for her."
"Okay." Kurt and Rachel seemed to say together.
"Aloha guys.. I bring thee goodies!" Sebastian grinned while producing a paper bag.
"Goodies?" Kurt questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Some old toys. They were just lurking around in my loft. Thought the kids would love them."
Kurt exchanged a glance with Rachel. "Well that was nice of you." She answered.
"Sup, Kurt?" Sebastian smiled.
"Hi.." An unsure tone came out of Kurt's mouth.
"So sorry." Mercedes came running down the path. "I couldn't get a lift, I had to run here."
"It's okay. The children are inside.. we're starting with 'Do they know'. "
They walked inside, the tables were at the back where the children were sitting with their parents, some were kneeling on chairs and others jumped with excitement. Kurt smiled as they turn towards the group.
"Hello." Rachel said into the mike, she waved at the ones who were waving at her.
The room buzzed and then silenced as the drum started.
"It's christmas time.
There's no need to be afraid." Finn started singing.
"At christmas time, we lay and lie
We banish Shame."
"In our world of plenty, we can spread a smile of joy.
Throw your arms around the world, at Christmas Time!"
They started swaying slightly while standing in the line, candles in the background were lit and the room got dimmed. Kurt shone a small smile in the children's direction as they got excited.
"Lets say a prayer, pray for the other one." Rachel sang.
"Oh, at Christmas time. It's hard. But when you're having fun..." Sebastian joined in, moving to stand next to Kurt; he flashed a smirk in his direction.
Their voices joined together. "There's a world outside your window, and it's a world without dead and fear. When the only water flowing is the bitter string of tears."
Sam then joined Mercedes and grabbed her hand. "Oh thank god tonight it's them instead of you."
Sebastian nudged Kurt, shooting him one of those smiles. "Do they know it's Christmas time at all?"
Their voices all combined together, "Here's to you, raise a glass to everyone." Sebastian added, Finn came and stood between them.
Kurt moved over the faces of the children, the parents that were at the back, Smiling, exchanging grins. Kurt walked forward, to the top of the stage, and looked down. "Feed the world. Let them know it's Christmas time."
Rachel had managed to gather the children singing, responding to us. "Let them know it's Christmas time."
They cheered and jumped from the song, a girl came forward towards Finn, handing him her teddy bear. "All donations to the box over in the corner." Rachel pointed towards the box on the table.
"Is that for me?" Sebastian gasped. "Thank you."
Kurt turned his head meeting Sebastian's gaze, He was receiving a lolly off a small boy.
"How about I pretend to eat it, and then you can enjoy it all for yourself? I'm sure it's very nommy."
Kurt furrowed his brow, watching Sebastian's reaction to the boy, he looked at Kurt and smiled weakly before Kurt turned away.
__
They'd been singing all afternoon. "You guys were brilliant." A mum said in the crowd, grabbing Kurt's attention. "I'm surprised you guys aren't famous."
"Thank you, we do hope we can all take our careers further. But right now we're focusing on the needy. Donations to your left."
She smiled. "We do have one more song to do but I'm waiting on my partner." Kurt said into the mike.
"We do really need to close up soon." The manager sighed.
"Maybe Finn could sing with you...?" Rachel hesitated, shooting a curious look towards Kurt.
"Or you could..?" Kurt added.
"Or me." Sebastian shrugged, he was listening into their conversation again.
"Now what makes you think I want to sing with you?" Kurt raised both eyebrows.
Sebastian smiled in response.. "For the children. That's why."
Kurt pursed his lips, looking at the children who were now very aware of it being Kurt's choice. "Fine.." He sighed. "But I'm not doing that song." He pushed past him.
Kurt flinched as the music started, looking over as he pointed at himself for him to start. "Oh the weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful. Since we've no place to go. Let it snow, let it snow."
Kurt stepped forward. "It doesn't show signs of stopping, and I've bought some corn for popping. The lights are turned way down low," He twisted around to face Sebastian.
..
"When we finally kiss goodnight. Oh, I hate going out in the storm." He came forward towards Kurt, catching himtoff guard, snaking his arms around his middle. "But if you really hold me tight, then all the way home I'll be warm."
Kurt frowned, annoyed at the sudden contact. The doors opened and Blaine walked through, he smiled and stood there, his brow then furrowed.
"Dooo.. da doo. doo daa.. doo." Kurt turned towards Blaine, smirking contently when he came in. He danced over to Blaine, and grabbed his hand tightly, still singing loud. "The weather outside is frightful but since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."
